Please figure out how windows work. AI app window keeps on getting obstructed and out of focus
my idea, is that the app window is "in focus" as soon as you touch any part of it. Being no web app can obscure it — which it does on the daily. Webex, Chrome and even Safari feel free appearing on top of my AI window. Ma dudes. Tell me I am not the 1st one to notice.

For complex artboard setups: Artboard groups, folders, labels, hide/show toggles and other enhancements to the Artboards window
Currently the Artboards window lists all artboards in a single numbered list. The only customization available for the list is the ability to renumber the artboards. A helpful enhancement to consider: Add the ability to organize artboards list into nested groups and folders. For more complex situations, features like color coding with custom labels, and tags and filters could be helpful. To help de-clutter complex overlapping artboards, it would be helpful to be able to toggle the view on and off for artboards similar to how layers can be shown or hidden.

Straight lines with Eraser, Brush, Pencil tools
Many users have been asking for this feature for a long time: draw a line between two points with the eraser freely, without it being at 45°.
Why is that not possible? Like drawing with solid lines, without having to convert the contour line thickness (like the Blob Brush). Or constrain the brush as a spot between two precise places, which would amount to the same.4 票 -
Full Alignment Center Option (both horizontally and vertically)
Instead of having two tools (Horizontal and Vertical Align Center), can we get a tool that does both in one called something like Fully Align Center. I've included an image of what the tool might look like.

Files saved to an older version (CS6, or lower) using 30.2.1 build give errors when opening in older versions
After the last update, saving an .ai file in version CS5 or lower and then trying to open it in Illustrator CS5 results in an error: invalid operator: "<fffe>"

Different Customizable Shape Gradient Constraints
Much like the flexibility of the radial gradient feature, it would be incredibly helpful to have a similar tool to make gradients, but one that does not constrain you to a circle or ellipse. Yes, AI provides the freeform gradient tool and the gradient mesh tool, but these are often a little finicky and time consuming to use. One can also use the blend tool to attempt a freeform gradient. Toolbox zoom and hand tool on same tab instead of separate tabs making it slower to select since having to flip back and forth all the time
Previous versions CS6 etc had the toolbox panel better laid out: Hand tool and zoom tools were on a separate tab now CC doesn't give the choice but having them both on a same tab so having to hover, drag etc every time I want to select my favourite tools is really tedious whilst there are many useless tools on the toolbox displayed why changing a feature that worked perfectly in previous versions?
7 票The original toolbar with all the tools in classic arrangement is still available as 'Advanced' and can be enabled from Window > Toolbar menu. The currently offered toolbar is called 'Basic' and serves the purpose of making new users fell less overwhelmed with the amount of tools Ai has and display the most popular only.

Allow to save changes into the locked Arrowheads.ai file
So you are a smart one and figured out how to make your own arrowheads...
The help article tells how to do it (https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/stroke-object.html) and then the file itself has some instructions.But then you try to save the changes, and get an error message. You can't overwrite the file, because it’s locked by Ai, because it uses it to display arrowheads in their dropdown...
Currently you have to save the file someplace else, close Ai, wait a bit, replace the fil, launch Ai back. Very cool...

Tools to edit paths to make straight lines, sharp corners, and smooth curves for faster vector trace clean up
Attached are three tool examples I would like implemented into Illustrator to speed up the process of cleaning up vector paths. A lot of times when you do a vector trace the corners of text or objects will not have a sharp point or areas with straight lines will become jagged or distorted. To clean these areas up requires a lot of single clicks on points and anchor points to get the right result. Content Credentials (Beta) arriving for Illustrator ... and general concerns about Content Provenance / Attribution
As Adobe are a leading player in the CAI initiative, are they rolling out 'Content Credentials' functionality to the other creation tools in the suite?
Also - related to this - why do admin staff on here ask people to upload .AI files as bug fix evidence without conversations about risks of jeopardising Provenance and Attribution?1 票 -
Add an option to hide the color spectrum bar at the bottom of the Color panel
I would like to request an option to hide the color spectrum bar located at the bottom of the Color panel.
For users who input colors using CMYK or RGB percentages, the color spectrum bar becomes an obstruction. This is particularly problematic when switching to a smaller panel docked below the Color panel, as the spectrum can display with an excessively tall vertical height. Having to manually resize the Color panel every time just to make the color spectrum smaller is cumbersome.
Please consider implementing this feature.

Previous/Next Artboard hotkeys should be able to keep zoom
Right now Ai also does 'Fit Artboard in Window' when any of artboard navigation hotkeys are used. I’d like also be able to keep zoom level when navigating artboards.

Illustrator window should stay maximized when opening existing documents from Explorer
What we want is simple, make it so that opening an Ai file from File Explorer does not change if Ai is in windowed mode, or fullscreen mode.

Have a panel that shows info and keyboard modifiers for the current tool
All Adobe applications are quite complex beasts, and what all the tools do and particularly what holding different modifiers or keys do can be quite arcane.
I imagine a panel you can have open on the side, and it will show information and the modifier options for the currently active tool.
For instance for the Star tool, it can say what Shift, Option and Command keys do, and that you can press Arrow Up and Arrow Down to increase the number of points as you drag.
Pro users can keep the panel closed, but it can really help new users…

Freeform gradient points copying with Alt+drag
Ai does not apply the Alt+drag paradigm to color stops of freeform gradients. No duplication happens!
We can workaround this, clicking the stop first, and then clicking in a free spot... But this is not OK, because this approach is not used anywhere else in Ai.

Make incrementation looped in angle value fields for Move, Rotate and other dialogs
Problem Description:
AI can do math in fields and that is awesome.
But I always swear a little when I use angle fields.For example:
1. Move an art with Move dialogue at 10mm and 360 degrees
2. Select another object and invoke dialogue again
3. Type in '+30' in angle, so it would become '360+30'
4. Press Tab or EnterActual Result:

It would be nice if Ai could allow to split a blend in a step defined, effectively creating two merged blends — something that CorelDraw was able to do for years.

More precision with the Knife Tool
I'd like to see more adjustment options for the knife tool. Something like the pencil tools option of Tolerances: Fidelity and Smoothness. It sure would help with more precision when I cut and ink my manga characters. Rather than go in after I make a cut and have to move a lot of anchor points and handles around by hand to get the precision I was after in the first place.
