1. Live text converts to outlines when copying and pasting within Illustrator

   When copying artwork that contains live (editable) text and pasting it within the same document, or between Illustrator documents, the text objects intermittently convert to outlines (rendering them non-editable). This occurs with both area type and point type.

   This is happening with brand new files (not old ones). Dragging from one Illustrator document to another (correctly) brings in editable text, but I've ensured no third-party clipboard managers are enabled.

   This issue is reportedly fixed in the latest Beta 30.3.126 build.

   Kindly update (or install) to verify the fix making it behave as expected, to allow the team to safely push it into the next general build.

2. Illustrator slow and laggy with text

   When I'm trying to edit a text box, illustrator turns very slow and laggy. With a simple text box. When I try to change font size, or writting, it takes ages to assume it. And the document turns very slow.

3. Text object becomes corrupted and cannot apply gradient or appearance

   Illustrator on Windows 11 sometimes turns normal point text into a broken area text object.
   When this happens:
   - “Convert to Point Type” does not appear
   - The text behaves like a text box even though it was created as point text
   - The Appearance panel cannot add a new fill (button is greyed out)
   - Applying a gradient turns the text completely black
   - Copy/paste keeps the corrupted state unless pasted as plain text

   This issue forces me to recreate text manually and interrupts my workflow.
   Please investigate the cause of corrupted text objects on Windows 11.

4. Fonts change after reopening Illustrator file

   I created a mailer in Illustrator with around 10–12 artboards and exported everything perfectly with the correct fonts. When I reopened the same file after two days to make changes, all the fonts had changed automatically, some text had disappeared, and the layout no longer matched my earlier exported JPGs. The fonts were installed and displaying correctly at the time of the first export, so the issue only appeared after reopening the saved file. I’ve attached the before/after GIF to show the difference.

5. Text size and kerning keyboard shortcuts still do not work.

   Mac Studio - macOS Sequoia 15.6.1
   Adobe Illustrator 2026 ver. 30

   Point/Font size and kerning keyboard shortcuts still don't work. I attempt the key commands and nothing happens, even though the shortcuts are still in the defaults (see attached). Help?!

   It seems like the Size/Leading, Tracking, Baseline Shift values in Preferences > Type got changed... If it is the issue — please upvote it still and leave a comment. It’s not clear yet why it happens.

6. "Legacy text" warning when opening a file with Illustrator 2026, created in Illustrator 2026

   1. macOS 15.7
   2. Illustrator 30.1
   3. Created large posters in Illustrator 30.1 including Japanese type. Was later asked to make A4 size versions of them. Reduced entire contents of individual A1 posters so they would fit on A4 pages, copied, pasted to a new multi-artboard file. Saved and closed. Opened the file next day, again using Illustrator 30.1, and was greeted with "This file contains text created in an older version of Illustrator. Updates in the text layout may have caused changes in some character positions, or line breaks." The preview showed there is actually no text reflow or change in spacing whatsoever. Opened the same file using Illustrator 29.8.3 and no problems or warnings. I'll have to avoid working in Illustrator 2026 (v. 30.1) and revert to Illustrator 2025 (v. 29.8.3) until this is fixed.

7. Les raccourcis clavier typographiques ne fonctionnent plus dans la 29.7

   Dans le version illustrator 29.7 du 30 juillet 2025, toutes les fonctions de manipulation des typographies par les raccourcis clavier ne fonctionnent plus. Agrandir et diminuer, soit la taille, soit les interlettrages, les interlignages, etc… Exemple : option flèche du bas, du haut, droite gauche - commande majuscule point.

9. Font Weights Change Upon Opening Files

   When opening a file I previously saved, all the font weights switched around. Things that were bold were now light and light font were bold. A few fonts were switched out to different fonts altogether, even though the same font was still in the document, so it wasn't like it was unavailable.
   I deleted any duplicate of the fonts and only had fonts from Adobe Fonts used in my documents, but the problem didn't go away. When opening an older version of the file that had the correct fonts weights, it would automatically change once I saved it.
   I ended up just going to an older version of Adobe so I wouldn't have to worry about all my files being messed up (and now it's crashing a lot with I guess is the preferable problem.)

10. Type appears bolder after converting to outlines

    When converting live type to outlines, the outlined text appears noticeably bolder. If you zoom in closely, the weight looks correct again.

    This becomes a real problem when testing precise font weights for logos or identity work. Once type is outlined for customization, the apparent weight changes is making it difficult to accurately judge the final result. I often zoom out to evaluate designs at small sizes, but with outlined type, the visual weight no longer reflects how it should actually appear.

    This behavior also shows up in exports:
    If the outlined type is exported at small dimensions, the text appears heavier than intended in the resulting image file. When exporting at larger dimensions, the weight looks correct.

    This feels like a rendering inconsistency between live type and outlined type that affects both on-canvas preview and small-size exports.

    I’ve been using Illustrator for about 20 years, and as long as I can remember, outlined type has tended to appear slightly bolder. I’ve always assumed this was a known rendering issue and never reported it.

11. Missing fonts with asterisk still appear in Illustrator font menu — even after cache cleanup

    Illustrator keeps showing missing fonts with an asterisk (*) in the font menu, even when those fonts are no longer installed or active.

    This happens even in new blank documents and after multiple attempts to clean caches and reset preferences.

    It makes the font list cluttered and hard to navigate, especially for users who work with many typefaces.

    Please consider adding an option to hide missing fonts from the font menu, or improve the way Illustrator handles font references and cache rebuilding.

    This issue has been affecting productivity and font management for a long time.

    再現手順
    1. 新規ドキュメントを開きアートボード上に楕円を描画する。
    2. パス上文字ツールで楕円をクリックして楕円を対象にパス上文字を作成
    3. 左右のブラケットを楕円の左右のアンカーポイントに合わせる。
    4. 中央のブラケットを操作するとブラケットが反対側に飛んだり戻ったりする。
    5. 4の挙動の後にクラッシュする。

    期待する結果
    ブラケット操作時に安定して操作できる。

    実際の結果
    ブラケットの操作が不安定で、高確率で最悪クラッシュする。

    回避方法
    楕円の一部をはさみツールで切断しておくことで不安定な動作を回避可能。

13. Threaded text areas display only first lines when Adobe Every-Line composer is used, since 29.6

    Issue: two or more threaded text areas no longer render all text inside. The text does still exist (as visible in View > Outline) but it does not render on screen or when exporting / saving out. Whereas text flashes visibility for single text areas with no threading, but does eventually show.

    Actions taken: fresh text areas; freshly typed text (not copy-pasted); fresh document with fresh areas and fresh text. All do not render fully. Also ensured text is at the very top with no unseen masks or shapes obscuring. Turning off and on Outline View, bounding box, edges etc.

    Temporary solution: rolling back to v29.5. In this earlier version threaded text areas render fully and correctly.

    Ai: v29.6.x and v29.7
    PC: Win 11 Enterprise; build 26100.4652 and 22631.5624.

    Issue: two or more threaded text areas no longer render all text inside. The text does still exist (as visible in View > Outline) but it does not render on screen or when exporting / saving out. Whereas text flashes visibility for single text areas with no threading, but does eventually show.

15. 「環境にないフォントを解決する」などからバリアブルフォントをアクティベートできない／Cannot activate variable fonts through Resolve Missing Fonts.

    Adobe Fontsが含まれたドキュメントを開くとき、そのフォントが環境になくても「環境にないフォントを解決する」などからアクティベートできるのですが、バリアブルフォントの場合はアクティベートができず、困っています。

    ・和文でも欧文でもバリアブルフォントだとアクティベートできない
    ・Beta版と製品版（2025、2024）で確認したが、アクティベートできないのはいずれも同じ

    回避策として

    ・Adobe FontsのWebサイトで事前にアクティベートしておく
    ・文字パネルの「さらに検索」タブからアクティベートする

    などの方法が挙げられますが、単純に手間ですし、初心者さんにとってはハードルの高い作業だと感じます。
    ほかのフォント同様に「環境にないフォントを解決する」や「フォントの検索や置き換え」からでもアクティベートできるのが正しい挙動だと考えています。

    UserVoiceで似たような報告を見つけられなかったので、日本語版だけのバグではないか？と疑っています。
    バグであれば早めに解消いただけると嬉しいです。

16. Illustrator最新版で A-OTF フォントが使用できない件について

    お世話になっております。

    現在、以下の環境で A-OTF フォントが Illustrator で使用できない 不具合が発生しております。

    環境

    macOS：15.6.1（Sequoia）

    Adobe Illustrator：最新版（28.x）

    Morisawa Fonts アプリ：最新版を使用

    フォント例：A-OTF ゴシックMB101 Pr5

    症状

    Illustrator のフォント一覧には A-OTF フォントが表示されるが、選択すると代替フォントに置き換わり使用できない。

    Photoshop など他の Adobe アプリ（Photoshop、InDesign）では同じフォントを正常に使用可能。

    Morisawa Fonts アプリ上では該当フォントはアクティブ化されている。

    実施済み対策

    Illustrator のアンインストール／クリーンインストール

    環境設定・キャッシュの削除

    Morisawa Fonts アプリの再インストール、ログイン／再アクティブ化

    macOS 再起動

    上記すべてを実施しても改善せず

    特記事項

    Illustratorを一つ古いバージョン（27.x）に戻したところ、問題なくフォントを使用できた。

    よって、最新版 Illustrator（28.x）と macOS 15.6.1 環境における A-OTF フォントの不具合である可能性が高いと考えられる。

    文字パネルやオプションの機能低下
    「文字パネルの以前あった機能の消失」
    それとオプションの「割注」などの項目消失がかなりあります！
    場所が変わった場合は新しい場所への誘導をわかりやすくしてほしい。

18. 縦組みのエリア内文字のスレッドテキストオプション作成が正常に機能しない

    macOS 14.7.2
    Illustrator ver.29.1

    Step to reproduce
    1.縦組みのエリア内文字を作成する
    2.矩形ツールで矩形を描く
    3.エリア内文字と矩形を選択してメニュー「書式→スレッドテキストオプション→作成」を選択する。
    4.矩形が縦組みエリア内文字に変換されるが、スレッドテキストにはならずエリア内文字のコンテンツがコピーされた状態になる。

    期待する動作
    矩形がスレッドテキストとして正常にリンクされる。

    実際の結果
    スレッドテキスト→作成を実行してもスレッドテキストとならずコンテンツの状態もおかしい。

    回避策
    Tツールを使って手動でスレッドテキストをリンクさせる。

    縦組みに対するスレッドテキストオプションの挙動は全般おかしく、エリア内文字や矩形の構成や状態によって挙動が異なる場合がありますが、全般的に意図した通りに動作しない。
    また、おかしくなったエリア内テキストを手動でリンクさせようとするとIllustratorがクラッシュします。

19. Tabs window not available in 30.1

    Mac OS Tahoe, AI desktop version 30.1 <-- updated yesterday 12/22/25
    Creating new area text (paragraph text) which requires tab structure, first thing, the shift+command shortcut no longer works. So I can't indicate in a screen grab what doesn't show up. It is also greyed-out within the Top Window Menu>Type>Tabs

20. 2025 Paragraph styles broken opening files created in previous versions

    Opening up previously formated files (2024) with Character/paragrah styles applied is useless in 2025!
