1. Free Distort effect doesn’t work properly with Freeform gradients

   When Free Distort effect is applied to a path with a freeform gradient fill (we all now know it’s not a real fill), the stops just vanish if they happen to 'fall out' beyond the resulting path — the same way they get dropped when you edit a path with a Direct Selection tool (which can also be treated as a bug, because you are just ditching user data — these color stops should be able to be placed outside of the path!)

   Images 6 and 7 show what happens if you try to make the shape larger than the original with same effect — we gat to see that technical offset Ai generates to work around the nature of the triangular mesh fill generated.

   It all looks like the effect gets applied to the invisible clipping mask of the resulting container, not like it happens for a NORMAL fill.

   ...but, if you drag the effect above the fill in the Appearance panel (image 8), you’ll get the look we wanted to create in the first place.

   Nothing like this happens for ordinary gradients, there is no visual difference if the effect is above or below the fill. However, the fill is actually never distorted at all — which is not cool. You have mesh tech! 'Distort linear gradients', as envelopes can do! Distort freeform meshes too!

   And yeah, you need to integrate new tools better.

3. Reordering artboards / double clicking an artboard zooms me into that artboard

   I experience the following disorienting app behaviour.

   How to reproduce:
   1. Zoom out with all the artboards in view.
   2. In the artboard list, find which artboard is highlighted.
   3. Click-and-drag that artboard. (Don't even really need to reorder it)

   Expected behavior:
   Nothing asides from reordering the artboards.

   Actual behavior:

   I am now zoomed into that artboard. I then have to zoom back out and continue reordering artboards at my desired birds-eye-view distance.

   This is expected to be fixed in the latest Beta Build 29.5.0.15 — the double-click on the item in the Artboards panel now should not zoom to the artboard on canvas, hooray! Please check if this now behaves as expected and comment back

4. Illustrator 27.3.1 Typing bug

   Hi all, its a weird bug on Illustrator 27.3.1 which were lot unstable issue of version.

   as video u can see :

   1. When I typed 1st word「背」it fine !
   2. But when I typed second word 著，illustrator just kept add my 1st word（被：its a same prononciation but different look in chinese ) on the right side

   🌟 Before 27.3.1 , all good ! this version caused software lot lagging too !

   Laptop Version：
   MacOS 13.2.1 (for now）
   Apple Silicon Chip M1 Max
   Illustrator ver: 27.3.1
   Type name : Noto Sans CJK TC

5. Illustrator on Mac, updated to Ventura. Freeform gradients are not showing up in saved PDF

   Hi, i just updated to Ventura. My company invoice banner has a freeform gradient that isn't showing up.
   It shows up in adobe acrobat, not in preview. However when i sent it as a trial to a friend on whatsapp via the desktop app, the gradient showed up. On the phone in the whatsapp app it doesnt. This discrepancy is highly frustrating.

6. I can't use the freeform gradient tool in Illustrator for some reason.

   For some odd reason, freeform gradient is not usable. I add in rectangles and saved images but nothing works. In addition, the other gradient tools are available for selection but have no impact on the image as well.

   I'm using version 27.4 (64 bit) on a Samsung.

7. Can't finish previewing. Could not complete the requested operation.

   I applied a pattern to a stroke by accident and received this error. I'm using v25.0.1 on a PC with 16 gb RAM and a dedicated graphics card.

8. Save as... it is not working in my MACBOOK Pro

   I was working a a project requested by my Teacher. I saved the final project .AI plus I needed it PDF version as I needed share both with my Teacher for grade purposes. But, it is not possible save as PDF or export as image nothing.

   When I save, a message error shows up and If I try to open the pdf the same message appears. But, if i look the PDF document saved I can see a miniature of the work. I shared with 3 colleagues and also with my Teacher and all the people said they can visualize this normally.

   So, I install and reinstall again my Adobe illustrator and the same issue continues. I tried to save another .AI document and its saved normally.

   Can anyone help me on it? It is something in this particular .AI file?

11. Delete Artboards command can’t be recoded in actions

    You can’t force Illustrator to record a deletion of artboards in an action, whatever method you use — a button in the panel, a panel’s menu, with or without Insert Menu Item workaround.
    How stupid is this.

    EVERYTHING is Illustrator should be recordable.

12. Locate in an action gives an error when nothing is selected

    Layers panel has a 'Locate Object' command in its menu.
    It can be recorded into an action directly, without messing with the Actions’ 'Insert Menus Item...' workaround approach.

    However, when this recorded action is called with no selection made, Ai throws an error (!):
    The action failed with an unexpected error code.
    Error:CANT

    ...if there is nothing to locate, locate nothing. But an error is too harsh, it breaks workflows.

13. The align tools don't work on rectangle in perspective plane

    In particular, the center align button in the align menu doesn't work correctly on a rectangle in a perspective plane. I notice that the bounding box does appear to be correct, but the shape is no longer align with its bounding box. Again, this problem only occurs with objects in a perspective plane. And yes, I am using the perspective selection tool to select the object.

14. Cutting a line with Scissors tool then resizing it works wrong

    1: Windows.
    2: 2022 26.5.0.
    3: Cutting a line using the Scissors tool then resizing it using the handles.
    4: Expected to be able to grab the handle at the newly cut end and re-size the line from there accordingly. However as soon as I do this Illustrator reduces the size of the line by approx 50%, often meaning the handle that I have hold of is off the screen. Have to let go of handle, go and find it again and drag the line back to where it originally ended after being cut. Very annoying.

15. BUG: Saving file breaks paragraphs created with Area Type Tool into separate objects

    I am a comic book letterer who has been using Illustrator for this purpose for several years. I have separate layers for artwork, captions, and text. I have been using the area type tool to place text for the speech bubbles, which are oval in shape. While working the layers look fine. Upon Save and then re-opening, however, each of the lines in the speech bubble is saved as a separate text object rather than as a paragraph. On some pages, the text is broken up even further so that the letters are different objects.

17. v27.2. Rulers are glitching out.

    The rulers are only showing when i mouse over them, even though Show Rulers is ON. And when using Direct Select Tool, the anchor points only show on mouse hover, so impossible to edit shapes - as you need to move off the point to grab the handle. I reset my settings to essentials classic, restarted, but no improvement. What to do??

    The issue got resolved by pasting the artwork in a new document. However, the cause of the bug is unknown. Please vote and comment if something similar happens for you.

18. White Lines After Using Image Crop

    I am running into an error when I go to crop an image. The original image does not contain any white lines or grid lines running through it, however when the image is cropped these evenly spaced white thin lines appear across the image. These lines will even show up after the image is exported. Any fixes or resolutions? Illustrator is up-to-date, I'm running macOS Ventura 13.0. (This does not happen with other images that are cropped in this file). To crop the image I am just simply going to Object>Crop Image

19. Export PSD is aborted with error

    When exporting Illustrator documents to PSD via Export As…, documents that would succeed with JPEG or PNG stop with an error.

    The error dialog appears twice, and the messages are as follows
    1. Unable to export at this resolution. Please lower the resolution and try again.
    2. The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. [RES!]

    
    

    The generated image is 4px in total and the resolution is not too high.

    Environment:

    • Illustrator 2022 (26.5.0)
    • macOS 11.6.8

    The same error occurred when I tried with Illustrator CS6.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. open the attached file 16383.ai
    2. Select [File > Export > Export As… > Photoshop (psd)]
    3. Specify a resolution to 288ppi

    Expected result:

    Successful export.

    Actual result:

    Aborted with an error.

    Workaround:

    • Move Ruler Origin closer to the artboard.
    • Move the artboard closer to Ruler Origin

    In 16383.ai, Ruler Origin is at the origin of the canvas (16383 x 16383) and the artboard is at the right edge of the canvas. In PSD export, the following values are expected to cause errors because they exceed the limits.

    Coordinates of the right edge of the artboard 16383 * (output resolution 288ppi / original resolution 72ppi) = 65532
    

    It would be correct to rely on the width and height of the artboard, rather than the coordinates of where it is placed.

    回避策：

    • ルーラーの原点をアートボードの近くに寄せる
    • アートボードをルーラーの原点の近くに寄せる

    16383.aiではルーラーの原点がカンバス（16383 × 16383）の原点，アートボードはカンバスの右端になるよう加工してある。PSD書き出しでは次の数値がリミットを超えるためにエラーが起こると予測される。

    アートボードの右端の座標16383 x (出力解像度288ppi / 原寸解像度72ppi) = 65532
    

    アートボードの置かれている位置の座標でなく，幅と高さに依存するのが正しいのではないでしょうか。

20. Image trace bugged + presets

    Presets are not working as before, constant error when turning on the preview mode.
    Also, when I try to re-edit a traced image, I get a continuous error [UKCO].
