Releasing a Layer Mask releases all clipping masks within
When I create a layer mask that includes clipping masks within, there are problems releasing the layer mask.
a) Using the Layers panel Make/Release Button releases some of the clipping masks within. (see attached movie)
b) Using the Properties panel button and/or the Object > Mask > Release will appear to do nothing, but is a redraw issue requiring View > Outline / View > Preview toggle.Mac OS 10.12.6, AI 23.0.1

Pasted shapes from Illustrator turn to graphics in Indesign
You cannot cut and past even a simple vector shape from the very latest Illustrator CC into the very latest Indesign CC without the shape being turned into a graphic in Indesign. I back installed to the last versions for both programs and it is work again. I have this exact setup at home (Mojave) and it work perfectly but at work (High Sierra) I had upgraded to the latest of both programs and hence the issue.
What should happen is the shape from illustrator remains an editable vector in indesign.

If a pdf is opened in illustrator, edited and saved; it asks to update the file as there are modifications. Now it goes in loop.

Freeform Gradient tool tip pop up won’t go away
Using Windows 10 on Dell XPS15. tool tips pop up appears and then i cant make it go away... I've disabled the tool tips in the Preferences menu but it hasn't made any difference. Is this a bug or something to do with my system?

Blend Tool doesn't create/show a spine when blending between two open paths
Normally when creating a blend between two objects with the Blend tool (or Object > Blend > Make), Illustrator creates and shows a spine that can be manipulated with the Pen, Direct Selection and other tools. This spine makes it easy to edit the path of the blend with the Pen and Direct Selection tools.
When creating a blend between two open paths, however, Illustrator does not create or show this spine.

Delete Color Group in Swatches ungroups group instead deleting
When I need to completely delete color group, I select it and press Delete palette's button (or try palette's menu). Any way. AI moves all colors from it to general colors, removing only the folder, but not colors, asking nothing (even with warnings reset).
I have to deselect my art, click first of moved colors, Shift+click the last one and delete swathes again.18 votes -

Freeform Gradient line mode misbehaviour
The new Freeform gradient tool seems to be full of bugs :(
One such example is when you are working with a line type gradient that has 3 or more points, selecting a certain point, double clicking to change the colour and then selecting the eyedropper will change the point selection to the most recently created point.

Touch Workspace Inconsistent
I have a Dell XPS 15 9570; it's more laptop than tablet, but it does have some touchscreen functionality.
When I first launched Illustrator on this device, I had the option to use touch mode, which was awesome.
For some reason though, it is no longer accessible. I've checked the workspaces menu, window>wirkspaces, etc. Nothing. There's not external keyboard connected (the laptop has a built in keyboard), I've restarted illustrator, I've tried different document types, I've switched my OS between tablet mode and laptop mode... nothing.
I'd really like to be able to use this mode again. Any advice?

GPU preview glitch
I encounter this glitch since introduction of GPU preview.
Only now I managed to narrow down the conditions to replicate it.When the Control pane is switched off (Window > Control), and Screen Mode is in Fullscreen Mode with Menu Bar, then when the working area is scrolled down, black horisontal lines appear. As if they are somehow traced by the top edge of the working area. Once I zoom out/in, they disappear. Also switching to CPU preview removes the glitch all together. This appears on both retina and non-retina displays.
This does not happen when the Control pane is…

Export to EMF file causes Crash
When exporting files as EMF, application crashes. I had to install older version of Illustrator to get this function back.

- I was working as usual but suddenly kept closing and running slowly. I had lost what I was doing once. Then opened up again and couldn't extend lines anymore, there wasn't centre handles nor white anchors in any object I draw.

Have to zoom a lot to reveal middle handles with small objects
MacOS Mojave 10.14.2 (18C54) and Illustrator CC2019 23.0.1
MBP 2018, i9, 32 Gb, Radeon Pro Vega 20, 4080 MtIt seems like Illustrator CC2019 has an issue with handles vanishing (at least on my system)
If you have a long and narrow (either horizontally or vertically), or otherwise small object, you have to zoom very very close to reveal the middle handle. Makes changing lengths of said objects pretty hard when matching with other objects with, for example, snapping etc.3 votes -
Opening Illustrator files brings up the Text import options box and then a blank file after updating to the current version?
I cannot open any existing Illustrator files without the Text import options box (As shown in the screen shot) opening. If I click cancel the box goes but the file doesn't open. If I click ok it opens a blank file but with the correct file name.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled three times and the same happens every time? Please help!

Every time while I use transforming tool it happened! I've to save and close the file.

Transform Each object in an isolated group transform the group instead
Select all objects in a Group and Transform Each will Transform each object WHILE ALSO TRANSFORMING THE WHOLE GROUP TOWARDS IT'S CENTRAL POINT. This directly contradicts the conventional meaning of "Transform Each".
The workaround is to deselect one of the objects in the Group, which is why this is a Bug- the workaround is a kludge fix.17 votes -
Inconsistent line thickness with Surface pen + touch zoom
Drawing pressure sensitive lines with the Paintbrush Tool using the Surface pen, on a Surface Pro 4, will result in line thickness inconsistent with the preview shown while drawing. See the attached video for a easy visual reference.
System information:
Surface Pro 4 + Surface pen that comes with the device (not the new one sold separately)
Windows 10 1803 (17134.648)

Illustrator won't open more than one file.
With version 23.0.1, Illustrator will permit to open only one single file. The first file can be opened by any method, any subsequent file can only be opened using "File/Open" command. Using Windows Explorer or Drag&Drop does not work! and will freeze Illustrator; ending the application is only possible using the Windows Task Manager.
I'm running Illustrator CC (23.0.1 64-bit) ond Windows 10 Enterprise (10.0.16299).THX for fixing this!
