1. Restore Sequential Artboard Numbering for Exported Files

   Dear Adobe Illustrator Development Team,

   I would like to provide feedback regarding the recent change to artboard export naming behavior in Illustrator.

   In previous versions, exporting multiple artboards could automatically preserve the artboard order by adding sequential numbers to the exported filenames, such as:

   File-01.png
   
   File-02.png
   
   File-03.png

   This was a simple and efficient workflow because the artboard order already exists within the document.

   With the current behavior, exported files increasingly depend on individual artboard names. As a result, users may need to rename artboards simply to maintain a clear sequential file order.

   For designers working with catalogs, calendars, presentation boards, packaging variations, social media sets, or documents containing dozens of artboards, this adds an unnecessary management step and increases the chance of naming errors.

   The artboard index and the artboard name serve different purposes. A designer may need descriptive artboard names inside Illustrator while still wanting exported files to follow the document sequence.

   I strongly suggest restoring the previous behavior as an option, or adding an export naming preference such as:

   • Use artboard number
   • Use artboard name
   • Use filename + artboard number
   • Use filename + artboard name

   Ideally, users should also be able to choose the number format, for example 01, 02, 03 instead of 1, 2, 3.

   This would preserve existing professional workflows while still supporting the newer naming system.

   Please consider adding this flexibility back to Illustrator rather than requiring users to rename artboards or rely on scripts for something that was previously handled automatically.

2. Pasting text appears centered even if current text box is left aligned

   When i copy paste text from another app and paste it in illustrator it automatcly appears centered even if the current text box had left aligned text.

4. Linked images missing from PDF-compatible data in .ai files – still happening in 30.8.2 (macOS)

   Environment

   Illustrator 30.8.2, macOS 26.6.2 (Apple silicon)
   Files on a local external SSD, not a network or cloud drive
   "Create PDF Compatible File" on; images linked, not embedded

   Issue
   A large linked CMYK image (about 4,250 × 9,560 px, 8-bit, with transparency, around 120 MB) shows correctly in Illustrator. When the .ai is placed in another document, or read by other PDF software, that image is missing. Everything else in the file shows.

   What I found when I inspected the saved file:

   The native Illustrator data holds the placed image correctly: right path, position and scale.
   The PDF-compatible part of the same file doesn't contain the image at all.
   When the image was on its own layer, the PDF-compatible data had that layer, but empty.
   Other linked PSDs in the same file were written normally. Only this image was dropped.

   These made no difference:

   Linking the PSD or a TIF version of the image
   Deleting the extra alpha channel
   Placing the image fresh on a new layer
   Removing its clipping mask
   Moving it fully inside the artboard
   Deleting a second artboard

   What fixed it:

   Workaround: turn off Preferences → File Handling → "Save in background", then save again. The image then appears correctly.
   Also works: File → Save a Copy as PDF includes the image.

   Notes

   The bug-tracker entry for this was marked fixed in 30.3. It still occurs in 30.8.2 with "Save in background" on.
   Saved copies stay broken until re-saved with background save off, so affected files can go on to other apps or to print without anyone noticing.

5. Wacom ExpressKey Remote Touch Ring zoom fails when GPU Performance is enabled

   Illustrator: 30.8.2
   Windows: Windows 10 Home 22H2
   GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060
   Wacom: Cintiq 27QHD + ExpressKey Remote EKR-100
   Wacom driver: WacomTablet_6.4.5-5 and newer

   Description:

   In Illustrator 30.8.2, the Wacom ExpressKey Remote Touch Ring does not zoom correctly when GPU Performance is enabled.

   When rotating the Touch Ring, the canvas briefly flickers/shakes and may zoom by only one step, then stops responding.

   The problem disappears immediately when I disable:

   Preferences → Performance → GPU Performance

   With GPU Performance disabled, the Touch Ring zoom works normally and continuously.

   I have confirmed that:

   Wacom Diagnostics correctly detects Touch Ring rotation.
   The same Touch Ring works correctly for zooming in Adobe Photoshop.
   Disabling Illustrator's Animated Zoom does not fix the problem.
   Wacom Touch Ring settings have been checked.
   The issue appeared after an Illustrator update.

   Reproduction:

   Open Illustrator 30.8.2.
   Enable GPU Performance.
   Open any document.
   Rotate the Wacom ExpressKey Remote Touch Ring.
   The canvas flickers/shakes and zooming does not work correctly.
   Disable GPU Performance.
   Rotate the Touch Ring again — zoom now works normally.

   This appears to be a reproducible Illustrator GPU-related bug involving Wacom Touch Ring input.

   Please investigate the interaction between Illustrator GPU Performance, Wacom ExpressKey Remote/EKR-100 and NVIDIA GPU rendering in Illustrator 30.8.2.

   Illustrator: 30.8.2
   Windows: Windows 10 Home 22H2

7. Inconsistency With Transform Controls in Control Bar

   I am noticing inconsistent display of Transform dimensions in the Control bar, when selecting similar elements. Referencing the attached images, notice that when one of the pasted .tif images is selected, the Transform dimensions are displayed in the Control Bar, but when the other image is selected, the Transform controls are collapsed and require an extra click to view and copy/paste sizes. These images were copy and pasted from the same website and appear to be the same format. Unfortunately, this slows down my workflow as previous iterations of the software always displayed the Transform dimensions of selected elements within the Control Bar and could be quickly and easily accessed without extra clicks.

   I understand that these can be available to me with expanded Transform or Properties panels, but I prefer to keep my workspace clean and only expand panels when necessary. Having this info in the Control bar has been an essential part of my workflow for over 10 years.

   (30.8.2 - Mac OS Sonoma 14.6.1)

8. Hands-on tutorial crash

   Hands-on tutorials crash when clicking on the floating window's "?" to locate the tool or menu area in the user interface. I'm using the hands-on tutorials as part of my class and this is causing students and their teacher a lot of frustration.

9. Transform dimensions - Constraint applied even though it is disabled

   When transforming the dimensions in the 'Transform' window, the constraint option (chain icon) is applied even though it is disabled. One measurement - width or height - cannot be altered without the other following along.
   I have been able to fix this by closing the application completely, but this is happening repeatedly.

10. Adobe Illustrator freezes and crashes when using the Dimension Tool

    I’m experiencing an issue with the Dimension Tool in Adobe Illustrator. Whenever I activate the tool and try to use it, the entire program freezes and then crashes. This is interrupting my work.

    I’ve attached a screenshot showing the tool and its options. Could you please help me identify the cause and resolve the issue?

    After a coworker uploaded her art files to the Adobe Cloud Project and shared them with me. When I go to download the file, the PDF preview shows only the images/vector art, but all the text is missing in Preview!

12. Generate Vectors "Add Reference" on homescreen interfering with spacebar input

    I am on Mac Tahoe 21.6.2 and Illustrator 30.8.1

    The steps are very simple:

    1. Open Illustrator 2: Press spacebar
    2. The "Add Reference" file dialog pops up

    This is the bare minimum to reproduce, however the file dialogue will appear if you:

    1. Open a specific file with Illustrator closed
    2. Upon opening your file, pressing space will still open the "Add Reference" dialogue, despite being off the homescreen/working in a file.

    Attached is a screen recording showing this process. A current workaround would be to click Hide Suggestions, however I find Illustrator does not always remember this choice. The user should have the decision to toggle the features on or off if they are undesired.

14. Negative numbers go positive when posting data into the graph tool

    Negative numbers go positive when posting data into the graph tool.
    Since I remember I have had to type a minus manually to each negative cell into graph tool data, since it won’t paste the minus sign. This is extremely time consuming and often leads to errors in the graph. Is the a way to get around it that I have missed, or are you planning on fixing this issue sometime soon?

15. Blend objects based on Paintbrush strokes render incorrectly and Illustrator crashes

    The document worked correctly approximately two weeks ago.

    The artwork contains many lines created with the Paintbrush Tool. Some of these brush strokes are used as source objects for Blend objects.

    Current problem:
    All Blend objects that are based on Paintbrush strokes are rendered incorrectly. Colors and/or stroke appearances change significantly after opening the file.

    Normal objects and non-blended artwork appear correctly.

    The document was originally displayed and saved correctly approximately two weeks ago. The problem appeared after recent Illustrator updates.

    Tests performed:

    • Illustrator 30.8.1:
      Blend objects based on Paintbrush strokes render incorrectly.
      "Save As" becomes extremely slow / Illustrator becomes unresponsive.

    • Illustrator 30.8:
      Same incorrect rendering of the Blend objects.

    • Illustrator 30.7:
      Illustrator crashes while working with/opening the document.

    • Illustrator 30.6:
      Illustrator also crashes with the document.

    Important observation:
    The problem specifically affects Blend objects whose source paths were created with the Paintbrush Tool.

    Other normal vector objects, colors and strokes remain largely correct.

    Expected result:
    The Blend objects should display exactly as they did when the document was originally created and saved.

    Actual result:
    Blend objects based on Paintbrush strokes are recalculated/rendered incorrectly, producing wrong colors and stroke appearances.

    In some Illustrator versions the document also causes Illustrator to crash.

    Impact / Severity:

    This is not only a visual rendering issue.

    The affected AI document is a production file and is currently no longer usable for normal work.

    All Blend objects based on Paintbrush strokes are displayed incorrectly, and attempts to continue working with or saving the document can result in Illustrator becoming unresponsive or crashing.

    The document worked correctly approximately two weeks ago and was saved without any known errors.

    At the moment I cannot reliably edit, save or continue working on this file without risking further damage to the document.

    This is therefore a production-blocking issue and potentially a data-integrity problem.

    I can provide:
    - screenshot of the correct appearance
    - screenshot of the incorrect appearance
    - crash reports
    - the original AI file if required

    Environment:
    Windows 11
    Adobe Illustrator 2026

16. Links Panel / Relink feature freezes and stops responding during batch production work

    When working on repetitive batch production tasks (such as updating multiple Amazon product listing variations where images are continuously relinked and embedded), the Links panel / Relink feature frequently breaks or stops responding entirely. Clicking the "Relink" button or using the context menu does nothing, effectively freezing that specific panel's functionality.

    Currently, the only workaround is to completely shut down Adobe Illustrator and reload multiple project files, which heavily disrupts high-volume production workflows and wastes significant work time.

17. AI files with 'Create PDF Compatible File' show missing artwork when opened in PDF viewers (Illustrator 2026, Windows 10)

    After updating to Illustrator 2026 for Windows, AI files saved with the "Create PDF Compatible File" option turn out to be incomplete sometimes when opened in any PDF viewer, with missing parts in both raster images and vector artwork. Saving the file several times often fixes the problem, but the only reliable workaround is to save the document as a PDF with the "Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities" option enabled, instead of saving it as an AI file.

18. Illustrator changing font weights when opening in different operating systems

    When saving a file in one system and opening in another (MacOS 15.7.7 to Windows 11 Pro 25H2, and vice versa), Illustrator doesn't apply the right weight that was used when the file was saved. For example, it applies the text in bold, when it was saved in light.

    Also, when linking the same file in a InDesign document, the preview has a different appearance.

    The font family I'm using is IBM Plex Sans, downloaded from Google Fonts.

    Both on Illustrator 30.8.1 and InDesign 21.5.1.

19. PPI info and Color mode in the Control panel are hidden behind a clickable “i”

    As reported in the Illustrator forum, the image resolution info normally displayed in the Control panel is now hidden behind a clickable "i".

    All - we have reverted this change in our latest release - v30.8.2. Please update to latest version.

20. アプリケーションフレームのバグ

    アプリケーションフレームをチェックを入れて作業し、ファインダのウィンドウクリックしたのち、イラレを触るとファインダの後ろにイラレのウィンドウが隠れてしまう。
    結構長い間修正されずにそのままなのですが、これがデフォルトなのでしょうか？
