1. Use of Asset Export panel modifies existing SVG when closing without saving changes

   When using the Asset Export panel in Illustrator, if an SVG is exported with the same name as the currently open file, when that file is closed without saving changes, the existing file is modified.

   Specifically, a <metadata> element is added to the SVG, which results in unexpected behaviour when trying to use the SVG in an HTML document for example.

   This is part of my current workflow because Illustrator creates better SVG exports than XD. Therefore I am exporting an SVG from XD, then opening it in, and re-exporting it from, Illustrator. Every time I repeat that process, I encounter this bug - normally when closing Illustrator at the end of the task.

   Steps to reproduce:

   1. Create a new document (it can be any size). I have created a 50px by 50px Web document.
   2. Add an object to that document. I have added a black square 50px by 50px with no stroke. [Screenshot 'Step 2']
   3. Drag that object into the Asset Export panel. Leave the name as the default of Asset 1.
   4. Export the asset as an SVG.
   5. Open the exported SVG in a text editor to see it's code. [Screenshot 'Step 5']
   6. Close the document created in step 1.
   7. Open the new 'Asset 1.svg' in Illustrator.
   8. Drag the object (in this case the black square) to the Asset Export panel again. Leave the name as the default of Asset 1.
   9. Export the asset as an SVG. When asked if you want to replace the existing file choose to replace.
   10. Open the exported SVG (from step 9) in a text editor and observe that the code is different to the output from step 5. [Screenshot 'Step 10']
   11. Close the open document in Illustrator. When asked to save changes, choose 'Don't Save'.
   12. Open the exported SVG (from step 9) in a text editor and observe that the <metadata> element has been added, despite choosing to not save changes. [Screenshot 'Step 12']

2. Illustrator & Mohave

   I performed the upgrade to Mojave 10.14 yesterday from High Sierra. Now I am dealing with some really strange & frustrating Finder & Adobe CC behavior. "An unexpected error occurred (error code -8011)" when I try to rename files in Finder.

   Illustrator, instead of saving over my open working files, is generating new file versions named in numerical order -without my doing- and I am unable to change these filenames after closing them all and renaming them in Finder. And it sometimes skips a save, too. For example, when I hit Save in Illustrator, new file appears named "Filename 1.ai, Filename 2.ai, Filename 5.ai" Instead of saving over "Filename.ai". No problem reopening these files however in Illustrator. But goes right back to the naming issue. Note:*This is not a duplicate filename issue, this is something entirely weird.

   My version of Illustrator is current with most recent update.
   Not good at all. Any ideas why this is happening? It's quite strange, have never seen this before.

   Illustrator version 22 is not supported on macOS 10.14 (Mojave).
   Please upgrade to version 23 to see if it resolves the issue.

4. 3D Extrude and Bevel - Rough color transitions

   The 3D extrude and bevel doesn't seem to handle transitions between curved surfaces and straight surfaces well. There's a very rough color transition in the resulting 3D render where one would expect a smooth transition. See attached for an example.

5. Asset Export Undo Deletion

   If I delete an asset from the Asset Export Panel, I cannot "undo" to bring it back. I would like to be able to do this in the same way as undoing to restore swatches, layers etc.

   Please upgrade to the latest AI version 23.0 to resolve this issue. Version 22 is not supported on 10.14

7. Some shortcuts not working in 22.1

   For example Transform each Ctrl+Shift+Alt+D not working at all.
   CC2017 seems to be still better option than CC2018, many bugs.

9. Creative Cloud Libraries can't add multiple swatches

   I used to be able to click one swatch in my CC libraries and shift click another and right click and add all colors to my document swatches. This option has dissappered and now I have to right click each color and add to my document swatches one at a time.

10. program not responding

    So I deleted my old version of Illustrator since Adobe kept sending warnings saying I was using a cracked version. So I went ahead and purchased the 1 year and now that the new Illustrator is installed, it just keeps freezing and saying program not responding. I liked the old version better plus it was already paid off

11. Essentials Classic Workspace is missing

    I have students who do not have access to the Essentials Classic Workspace. If this was removed this is a BAD idea, particularly for education environments. Educators like myself spend a great deal of time producing project-specific videos using a particular interface configuration and if my students cannot access it the videos and my valuable time have been wasted.s

    Jim, Essentials Classic workspace is still there and won’t be removed, as far as I know. That is definitely a local corruption, and a clean reinstallation or Preferences reset is advised.

12. QTWebEngine Page on MAC

    Hi,

    I have a plugin created for Adobe Illustrator CC 2017/2018.
    In the plugin I have a panel which acts as a container for a QTWebEngine page.
    The page consist of several text boxes where I can enter text.
    I can perform basic operations like cut/copy/paste/selection on windows but I am unable to perform these actions on Mac (Os El Capitan).
    What I observed is that on windows clipboard will allow saving text on pressing Ctrl+C/X/V but on MAC whenever I press Command+C/X/V on Illustrator, it is trying to invoke Edit menu for Cut Copy Paste and the control goes from my text box to Illustrator's Text frame art.

    I have tried many solutions but all fails. Only workaround is to open Edit menu and close it again, then only we can perform Cut/Copy/Paste on MAC.

    Can anyone give me a proper solution to this problem?

14. Crashes every time I open anything. Or save a new file. Completely unusable.

    Ever since the last update, Illustrator has become completely unusable. It locks up every time I try to open an existing file, or save a new file. Forcing me to force quit the application.

    - to be able to use the software to open, edit, and save Illustrator files.

    - cannot open, or save files. CAN edit a new file, and look at it for a while. But then need to force quit the app after clicking save, since it locks up. Basically a high tech etch-a-sketch.

15. Asset Export Incorrectly Clipping

    If you create a filled rounded rectangle with a 1 pt border, add it to the Asset Export panel and export, the end result is noticeably clipped. Even though the shape may be aligned to be pixel perfect and the stroke aligned so that it should be inside, the output shows the frame is now non uniform in terms of stroke width.

    If you didn't use stroke, you probably won't notice the inaccuracy.

    See the attached image and the edges are clearly truncated.

    Says there are some fundamental alignment issues that need to be addressed.

16. It does not change even if you enter a value on the Transform panel

    After entering X position, move to Y position with tab key and enter and enter value and value will not change even if enter key or tab key is pressed.

    Sometimes, this bug appears in Y position or Height.

    A white outline appears around objects sometimes that is not supposed to be there.
    Restarting illustrator, my computer and uninstalling/reinstalling illustrator has not fixed it.

18. Objects moving and resizing themselves

19. colour themes/swatches/window never work

    colour themes/swatches/window never work. Every time I try to do anything within the colour theme window I'm either asked to sign in when already signed in, or I try to create a theme and it 'saves' but doesn't actually do so, and afterward the theme window goes blank and I have to restart illustrator.

    And now instead of doing work I'm here writing this and researching alternatives to adobe products. The sign in thing is driving me nuts.

20. Not Responding every time PDF saved

    Every time I save my work as a PDF file my Illustrator freezes for up to 10 minutes at a time. This makes productivity EXTREMELY slow and frustrating!
