AI 2020 V.24 Unknown Error while saving in AI "when a PDF joboption file is present in the adobe PDF preferences folder"
Just updated to V.24.
There is a critical bug while saving on an external hard drive or a network storage. The saving process ends with a generic error and the file just DISAPPEAR from the server.
I'm on MacOS 10.14.6

This is a joke - I am flat out with work and don't have time to do what Adobe should have checked before releasing this. I can't believe all your users have to do this... shocking!

I have the latest version with very bad saving issues:
1. It won't save on local network file server (MacOS)
2. It did NOT save my work on my desktop after it says it's done saving. This is very bad. -

This is a total joke! and the beta hasn't fixed it for me anyway.
Surely being able to save a file is the most basic of functionality? How the **** can this be missed in a software release? -

Why can't you just fix the problem and send out the bug fix now, so frustrating that I am having to save out as a pdf initially in order to circumnavigate this saving issue.

@admin. I'm sorry but users shouldn't have to download pre-release software because Adobe rush updates out and don't test their software correctly. I have had issue with the latest InDesign and Photoshop. I have also had a usable InDesign 2018 removed from my machine by tech support when they were trying to fix the issues with 2020 and told they only support the latest and previous version.

I'm using High Sierra 10.13.6. 32GB. I was wondering if I had to update OS.
This is so frustrating! And no answer from Adobe.
I've reverted to the previous version, reset preferences and getting the same issue. -

I am unable to save any files as .ai file, new or old. It simply says "An unknown error has occurred", I have to save as an eps or PDF. This is really worrying. I also cannot copy and paste vector objects into Photoshop now, it won't allow me to do it and says "operation can't complete because of an unknown error" [CANF]. Then when I close this warning box it says "Could not complete the paste command because the clipboard data is empty or invalid". This is completely destroying my workflow and work in general.

Since updating, I can't save files on my hardisk or cloud. I can however, save as PDF. I'm on a Mac, using High Sierra.

This worked for me (Macbook Pro 2018, Catalina):
1. Navigate to user presets folder
Win: appdata\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe PDF/Settings
2. Rename the folder to “Settings old” and create a new empty folder “Settings” in the same place
3. Launch Illustrator and check if you can save the document -

It's happening for me. Any work arounds? I'm very frustrated. Hours wasted. I can't save any files in Illustrator 2020. Nor can I save EPS or drag them into Creative Cloud. Grrrrr. Not happy.
