SVG properties settings reset with software update
We use custom settings in the SVG properties window when we save images as SVGs. When I install an illustrator update, it wipes out my custom settings and replaces them with the default settings.

Version 23.0.3 Adobe PDF Preset / Transparency Flattener Preset "Convert All Text to Outlines" Not Working
In all previous versions of Illustrator and InDesign, when saving a PDF, I have been able to set my PDF settings to convert all text to outlines by checking "Convert All Text To Outlines" in my Adobe PDF preset. Since my recent update to 23.0.3, this feature is no longer working properly. The setting is still an option, however, upon save/export of the PDF, text is not converted to outlines as it previously was.
I have reached out to customer support for this issue and have been informed that this issue is "expected behavior of the software".
How is this…

Error: "Unable to export at this resolution" for jpeg at 300ppi
For larger artboards (6500 square), I'm trying to export them at 300ppi jpegs for print (as requested by the printer). Every time I try to export at 300ppi, I get the message "unable to export at this resolution, please lower the resolution and try again."
I've been informed of the Photoshop workaround, but we should be able to save vector files especially out as high res jpeg's straight from Illustrator!

PNG export broken
I receive an error every time I try to export a PNG from any file. Other export formats work without a problem.
Working on a Macbook Pro with MacOS Mojave running the latest version of Illustrator (updated this morning).

"An Unknown Error Has Caused the Operation to Fail" Message When Trying to export TIFF.
iMac running OS X 10.14.2
Illustrator CC 2019Whenever I try to export an artboard as a TIFF using "Export As", I get the ubiquitous, yet EXTREMELY vague error message, "An Unknown Error Has Caused the Operation to Fail" a couple of seconds after Illustrator starts to process the image (progress bars gets about 25% of the way).
Now, the weird part is that I have no problem exporting the same artboard as a PNG or JPG using the same "Export As' option.
And before you ask, yes I uninstalled and then reinstalled Illustrator but it's still having the same…

SVG import - duplicate layer names erased
In Illustrator CC 2019 (v23.0.2), some of the layer names are stripped during SVG import. This is not an issue in CC 2018 (v22.0.0).
Steps to reproduce:
1. Create an SVG file with two layers with the same ID attribute
2. Open in Illustrator CC 2019
3. One of layer names will be blankThe attached file shows the layer names in CC 2019 when opening the SVG below
<svg>
<rect id="LayerName1" x="0" y="0" width="237.6" height="3.2" fill="rgb(0, 0, 0)" fill-opacity=" 0"></rect>
<rect id="LayerName1" x="0" y="0" width="237.6" height="3.2" fill="rgb(0, 0, 0)" fill-opacity=" 0"></rect>

Poor quality images from Export for Screens
Mac OS 10.13.5, Illustrator 22.1
Images from artboards containing embedded raster files output using Export for Screens are of decidedly lower quality than those output from Save for Web. Please see the attached image for a side-by-side comparison. Save for Web is on the left, Explort for Screens on the right. Top images are actual size, bottom enlarged for emphasis. Notice the jaggies in the raster images.

Change saving process to equal Indesign / Photoshop's
As you likely know, Illustrator and Google Backup & Sync are not working a long. Discussions with lame work arounds are given, but maybe you can just use the same saving method as Photoshop or Indesign. These programmes work fine with Google Drive / backup & sync, so why not use that method instead?

Data Recovery
There's a weird glitch happening where it's like 'recovering data' ONLY once I start typing - and it keeps inserting an image I have previously deleted.
It's also giving me warnings when I open the document about it - I've tried 'ignore' I've tried to replace the file. Nothing makes a difference, it keeps randomly inserting the image again when I type.
I tried setting it aside, thinking it would only do it once... no, it will keep inserting more and more if I keep typing.

Illustrator CC 23.0.2 not opening a SVG file
When I try to open a svg file, a dialog box asks me to "Select a File Format to open file:" The options are Pixar, PCX, BMP, PNG and Targa. Not only do I not need any of these options, but if I click any of them and press OK, I get an error that reads, "Could not read the file because the plug-in could not understand this file."

Saving switches a layer back on
When saving in Illustrator 2019 a layer that was switched off becomes visible again. Only a minor problem I guess, but is part of a growing list of things that don't work in the latest version.

No Response when saving/printing files
Every time I attempt to save a file in Illustrator or Photoshop the system (Windows 10) hangs and shows 'no response'. It clears itself after a couple of minutes and then works normally. It will hang like this while I am printing as well. Our Level 1 tech has not been able to find the problem and it is becoming frustrating when attempting to work on a project. I have uninstalled and re-installed the programs twice as well as reinstalling the operating system to no effect. I have also tried rolling back to an earlier version which also has no…

Default saving SVGs to profile 1.1 Tiny
We develop an image set of currently 42,000 SVG files for our software.
It is important that the file format is 1.1 Tiny, not 1.1.
When creating and editing files illustrator keeps resetting to 1.1 in the save dialogue. Also when I open a file, edit and click save, sometimes it is also saves as 1.1. This is causing lots of problems.
Is there or can you add a way to make the 1.1 tiny profile default? or even remove the other profiles completely?1 vote -
Relink error
Illustrator 2019 gives an error, more often than not, when re-linking a graphic.
It has always been a buggy application, but this version is ridiculous – it is so unusable that I am looking around for alternatives1 vote -
Imported eps fonts are wrong
Imported eps fonts are wrong in Illustrator CC 2019 (and also at all other previous versions)
OS - Windows 7 64bit
- I export a figure from Matlab with predefined font name (Arial) but Illustrator consistently opens it as Helvetika.
When the image is opened in Acrobat the font is actually Arial.
See the attached figure for the bug. The same image opened in actobat / illustrator.1 vote -
Bug in pasting of metafile data from clipboard
Illustrator misinterprets data from a image exported to the clipboard as metafile. It inverses color of certain parts of the image after paste.
This problem is occurring in Creative Cloud CC2018 and CC2019. It is a bug that has been present in many previous versions of the Adobe suite, at least since CS6.
Running Windows 10 pro 1903 (18362.239)
The effect of the bug is demonstrated in the attached Word file.1 vote -
Illustrator is Saving files as a PDF by default.
Illustrator has been saving some of my large files as PDFs rather than Illustrator files (when I am just pressing Cmd+S) and the file is definitely not a PDF to begin with. This is frustrating because anything outside of the artboard is no longer in the file, the file must be opened as individual artworks, and all of the text is saved as individual letters in cases where text is typed along a path, or it's saved as individual words.
