1. Recolor window appears out of frame when in isolation mode

   When in isolation mode, the top of the Recolor window is out of frame, so I can't move it. Unfortunately, it pops up right over the artwork, so I can't use it.

   I tried moving the panel when not in isolation mode, but it still pops up over the artwork and out of frame in isolation mode.

2. Layers palette filter grabs focus when pressing Ctrl-C

   Pressing Ctrl-C to copy something activates the focus on the filter field in the Layers palette. Using keyboard shortcuts becomes a landmine when this happens because you can inadvertently turn off layers or, in some cases, slow Illustrator way down by pasting SVG data into the field (Ctrl-V often follows pressing Ctrl-C). When the latter happens, Illustrator tries to filter by the text in the field, and it can take quite a while sometimes to regain focus enough to clear out the field. More often than not, however, I have to force quit and restart.

   A potential side effect of this has been the lack of ability to copy color or width values from their respective. When attempting to do so, the ug is randomly triggered. Sometimes the text does still copy, other times it does not.

   OS: MacOS Sequoia 15.3.1 (this has happened for a while across previous OS versions)

   AI version: 29.3.1 (this has happened with previous versions of AI, going back to the introduction of the filter feature)

3. Top Bar Menu Items Stop Responding

   Platform: macOS Sonoma 14.2.1 Illustrator: 28.1
   While operating and working on a drawing portions of the Title Bar Menu no longer respond to clicks (File, Edit, Object, Type, Select, Effect, View Window) however the Illustrator and Help still respond.

   It was necessary to use keyboard shortcuts to save work and was necessary to quit and reload Illustrator and then load the file I was working on and the menu items now respond.

   Has happened numerous times while working on recent drawings.

   It seems like this problem happens only for Mac Sonoma users...

   Downgrading to a previous version of MacOS seems to be a viable workaround at the moment.

   This is not a proposed solution though.

   If this happens for you at earlier versions — please comment.

4. Modal panels for Free Transform tool, Dimension tool, Smooth, and Recolor pseudo-panel get hidden under other floating panels

   Free Transform Tool and Dimension Tool have several modes presented in small floating modal panels and appear only when the tool is picked.

   However, their z-order makes them hide under other floating panels, making it hard to find these pseudo-panels if a user choose to have real panels floating in the spot.

   It’s easy to locate them by hitting Tab, since they doesn’t get hidden like actual panels and toolbars, but you have to know the trick.

   I think their order should be above and not below.

5. ウィンドウの移動の低速化

   症状は、各ウィンドウの移動が全体的にもっさりしてマウスへの追従が遅れるようになりました。

   イラストレーター　2024年版をiMac 2023にて最近まで問題なく使用できていましたが、
   2025にアップデートしたところ挙動に不安要素があったため、アンインストールしたのちに
   2024をインストールしなおしました。

   その際、各種パネル（書式、属性、リンクなど）をフローティングウィンドウにて移動した際に
   動作が全体的にもっさりするようになりマウスへの追従がワンテンポ遅れるように。

   環境設定のリセット。adobe製品の全種アンインストール。関連ファイル削除。
   からの再インストール。
   またOSの再インストール（macos sonoma）も行いましたが一向に改善されません。

   ただしパソコンをセーフモードで立ち上げ、イラストレーターを起動した際には
   ウィンドウの移動がさくさくと動きます。

   正直セーフモードで起動した際に動くということは何かしらが悪さしているのは明白なのですが…
   まったく理由がわからず…。地味にストレスです。

   同様の方いませんか。

6. Random inverted Movement lock during Wacom Cintiq Pen and mouse usage

   I haven't used AI in awhile. I updated it today from CC. I'm on Windows 11 with a Cintiq 24. When I go to move an object or shift my workspace view, the pen motion or mouse motion will lock and invert. I won't be able to access any menu items. I was in task manager as I reproduced this. Doesn't look like it affects memory too much. Just trying to figure out if this is a bug or new setting.

7. Using scrollbars with a Wacom while editing text results in sticky cursor that will not stop scrolling

   Using the handles in the horizontal and vertical scrollbars while text is being edited results in the cursor 'sticking' to the scrollbar and not releasing. Pressing esc, alt-tabbing away all seem to have no effect, after about 30s it stops and if I have minimised everything with Win+M. Unsure if it is purely time-based or not.

   This only seems to occur when using a Wacom, the same interaction with a mouse does not suffer from the same sticky cursor.

   Steps to repro:
   - create a text object, and leave the cursor live inside the object. Doesn't seem to make a difference if any characters have been typed or not.
   - using a wacom stylus (e.g. Inutos) click and drag on either the horizontal or vertical scoll handles. This should result in the scoll handle 'sticking' to the cursor (e.g. scrolling with all cursor movement), with no obvious way to release it.
   - Clicking within the scrollbar also causes abnormal behaviour (instead of scrolling in the direction clicked relative to the handle), but this is harder to identify exactly what's going on. It locks the system up for a while, and appears to have stacked all the inputs while in the locked state.

   Expected behaviour:
   Clicking and dragging a scrollbar handle while editing text would be expected to scroll as normal, and either cancel the text edit in its current state, or keep the edit active, either would make sense.

8. Holding Shift (or Ctrl) to move RGB sliders together in Color panel doesn’t work when color is white

   A Help article on Color panel states we can hold Shift (also works for Ctrl, although unspecified there) to move color channels’ sliders 'in tandem', together, — http://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/default-keyboard-shortcuts.html#keys_for_the_color_panel

   This indeed works, in both RGB and CMYK modes (not in HSB, since its values won’t benefit from it).

   However, if all three RGB sliders are at 255/100% (white), this mode doesn’t work — please see the GIF attached.

   It probably makes sense for CMYK, where it’s not clear if 0-0-0-0 should become something like 24-24-24-24, but it totally makes sense for RGB, where we expect to get a gray color.

   Thanks to Franck Payen for bringing attention to this old problem. It’s not as irritating as others, but still it should be fixed.

9. The Search field is missing on the Home Screen in Your Files section

   Having a search bar would save us a lot of time.
   Basically when I want a specific file and I know the name I have to swipe and look thru almost a thousand of my files to find it… if there was a search bar I would be able to type in the project name and access my files in seconds vs 10-15 minutes… I have a lot of projects…

   This change happened because of recent changes made for Home Screen. This is not an intended behavior and the team is going to fix it

10. Illustrator 2025 forgetting dialog box preferences and reverting to default settings, especially after closing or crashing.

    New update to Illustrator 2025 seems to have issues with reverting back to interface defaults as if the app was never opened.

    Example panels reverting back to default: missing fonts or font activation panel, pantone blue reminder alert strip, save dialog asking to save locally or via cloud — pretty much anything with a "don't show this again" box, Illustrator seems to forget at least a few times per week.

    It also seems to be reverting keyboard shortcut commands back to default presets, though retains custom presets — you just have to go back into the keyboard shortcuts panel and change to your saved preset.

    App also seems to crash more often, currently upon saving / exporting out to other file types. Every time it crashes it seems to forget all the items above.

    Seems like it just has a couple bugs with the 2025 release that need to be worked out. Thanks!

    • OS: MacOS Sequoia 15.1.1.

    • Illustrator version: 2025 (29.1)

    • Steps taken when issue experienced: most often when illustrator crashes, usually after saving/exporting to PDF, JPEG or PNG (crash intermittent but more than normal). Also while app is still open but opening a new illustrator file that is already in version 2025 (not converting). And sometimes just intermittently or seemingly random without obvious cause or crash.

    • Expected result: for the app to remember preferences like keyboard shortcuts; not to show dialog or reminders after checking the "don't show this again" box; to remember save preference after choosing local vs cloud.
    • Actual result: opposite of expected result (prefs revert back to default)

11. Right-click menu appears in wrong location

    Right-click menu appears far below the cursor. If clicked low enough on my secondary monitor, the menu appears on my MacBook Pro's internal monitor (arranged below my external display). Photos showing this behavior attached. Has been happening for quite a while now and driving me crazy, figured it would've been been fixed by now.

12. Command-H stopped working for show/hide edges in 29.0.1.

    Maybe this stopped earlier, I never bothered with any release of 2024.

    I've been using Illustrator since 2000 and this hotkey is ingrained into my fingers. I don't care that MacOS wants to use command-hide to hide programs.

    Fooling around in Illustrator's keyboard settings reveals that if I set this to something else, I can't even reassign it to command-h.

    And annoyingly enough System Settings says that I can't assign custom shortcuts to Illustrator so I can't work around this by assigning nothing to illustrator>hide illustrator. Is this a deliberate choice being made by Adobe, the same way someone decided some hotkeys are completely unchangeable in After Effects? Any other suggested workarounds are welcome.

13. + (plus) as keyboard shortcut not working for adding anchor point tool

    The keyboard shortcut for adding anchor point tool is by default + (plus).
    About 1 month ago it stopped working.
    I have not changed the shortcut settings. Changing the add anchor point tool shortcut to some other key works fine, it's just + (plus) that is not working. I have also tried to make + (plus) as shortcut key for other tools, but that's not working either.
    So the problem seem to be the + (plus) key itself?
    Only problem is, it works just fine in text, as you can see here. It works just as well in Ai when used in text.
    So there seem to be no problem at all with my keyboard. It is JUST as shortcut in Ai that it does not work.

    No, caps lock is not stuck.
    No, shift is not stuck.
    Yes, i have restarted the computer several times during this month.
    Yes, I have the latest version of Illustrator 29.2.1

14. Contextual menu popping up far from cursor

    Canvas right click contextual menus are showing up far from the cursor (see video).
    Changing the window size dramatically changes distance from curser (bigger = further away).

    Tried to fix by:
    - Restarting Illustrator
    - Restarting machine
    - Checked for updates (none)

    Setup:
    - Mac OS X 15.2 (24C101)
    - Illustrator 29.2.1
    - MacBook Pro 15" M1
    - LG Superfine 5K

15. Incorrect Zoom Label when Disabling "Display Print Size At 100% Zoom" Preference

    With an artboard zoomed to 100%, and after disabling the preference "Display Print Size At 100% Zoom" preference, the zoom level is incorrectly reading "52.55%" until I switch Pixel Preview on and off again. See the attached screen recording for the exact steps to recreate this issue with a 1080px x 1080px artboard.

16. Context Task Bar flickers when panning with a scroll, using mouse or touchpad

    CTB hides itself when we pan.
    It looks more or less tolerable when we hold Spacebar to pan, or hold a mouse wheel ('why should someone has access to the panel while scrolling'), but it looks HORRIBLE when scrolling with a wheel or using a touchpad.

    The panel flickers each tick, making it painful to look at.

    Some say it happens for them only with Show Grid enabled, but for me it just happens all the time. Either way, CTB should be smart enough to skip the state update for this type of panning.

    Help Bar is available only in the latest Beta (starting with 29.2) and Prerelease builds so far. As soon as the team decides it’s ready to be pushed into main build, you’ll be able to get it. At the moment you can install Beta build from CCD app, or just wait.

19. Hitting Escape while editing a field does not cancel the value but applies it

    I don’t know why nobody reports this...
    If I input something in a field and I want to abort and return to the previous value, I hit Escape.

    Sometimes the first Escape closes the suggestions dropdown (like in browsers), and only the second one restores the previous value.

    A LOT of apps follow this rule except browsers:
    Affinity Designer, Inkscape, CorelDRAW, Blender...
    Non-design ones too: MS Office, Google Docs, various text editors... A LOT.

    Some apps keep the value entered, but don’t apply it, and put the old one back when an object get reselected — Xara does it.

    Some apps though do apply the entered value on Escape the way Ai does it — like 3DS Max.

    Why Ai doesn’t follow the major rule about the only exception when a user-entered data is aborted, and prefers to force us to Undo?

    Only Tab and Enter should be treated as committing a value. Escape should abort entering and drop the entered value, since we neve Enter it.

20. The "color spectrum" in Color panel always shrinking to the minimal size and it is very annoying.

    Every time I open Adobe Illustrator, the "color spectrum" in color panel always shrinking to the minimal size. Could you please make it not change according to the size the user wants. I usually need the "color spectrum" to be full size (maximum size). That would really help us designer a lot. Thanks, Adobe team.
