  1. Illustrator freezes up every +-20 minutes, unfreezes after alt+tab

    Illustrator (24.2.3 & 24.3, possibly previous versions too), freezes every 20 minutes or so. Sometimes it doesn't happen for an hour, sometimes it happens twice or 3 times in 10 minutes.

    When I say freezing, I mean freezing as if crashing (where the application gets a white-wash and then Windows pops up a message with a crash report message). The only difference is it doesn't give the "application crashed, send/not send" message. It just stays frozen, even when clicking on the application repeatedly (what usually causes the program to freeze etc). When alt-tabbing to another application and back, everything is…

  2. Extensions

    Okay, so the new update of illustrator is still as laggy, as before, if not more, the extensions doesn't show up, nor work, you can't remove an extension and you can't add a new one.
    And don't tell me to install it manually, because honestly, this is not why I'm paying a monthly subscription since 2015.

    If whenever I have a problem I have to go through a thousand threads and check a thousand suggestions, I have no idea why I'm paying a monthly subscription, when I can just buy another program ONE TIME.
    Or use pirated versions :)

  3. illustrator does not show my printer automatically

    I have been using illustrator more than 3 years. After the last update, Illustrator does not show me the default printer in the computer when I command "print". I tries to save the file as PostScript file. I completely deleted the illustrator and all the adobe files and re-installed them back, but it didn't get fixed. I have several illustrator in several computers, and only one of them has this problem. Is there any solution for that?

  5. offset path doesn't work with simple shapes like a circle

    OS: Windows 10
    Illustrator CC 2020 Build 24.3 (64 Bit)
    I can't offset any type of shape and do the "Ctrl + D" trick anymore
    Steps:
    1. Create a Circle
    2. Click "offset path" button on the side menu

  6. svg export fails to export image

    for the current version of AI (24.3).

    When exporting a svg via save-as with an artboard, images part of the canvas are not preserved, or exported, or linked. The resulting svg preserves the vector data, but anything related to the raster graphics is missing.

    this behavior seems to be inconsistent, as sometimes masked images do export, while other times they do not.

  7. Smart Guide glitch

    I am making icons in Illustrator.
    - Created a 1000px x 1000px file.
    - Set horizontal & vertical guides at midpoints - 500px, so the intersection is accurate centre of the document.
    - Using the pen tool, I hover to get the smart guide to snap to guide. BUT!!!! It snaps at position 500.5px not 500.0p.x Both horizontal & vertical are affected.

    The picture shows the "smart guides" assisting at the wrong point. The cursor vanished for the screenshot, but is hovering on "intersect".

    I reset Illustrator settings & started a new file with no other items. Illustrator V 24.3.…

  8. "Save a Copy" retains the first file name of first save and add's multiple "copy"

    event after multiple "Save as" with different file names Illustrator will "Save a Copy" with a name of a first save and add's bunch of "copy". After several saves file looks like this "Business Card 1 copy copy copy copy copy copy copy" even after "Saving as" and working in a file named "Business Card 7"

  10. Cant Resize without restarting

    When you use the selection tool on any object with the boundary box showing, sometimes you have to restart illustrator to get it so select the corner to resize.

  11. Can't drag and drop an image from a folder on canvas

    I can not drag photo from my PC folder to Illustrator. Dragging is done only on the folder page. I can not continue dragging on illustrator. Can anybody help me find the way? Thanks.

    I am beyond frustrated! fix your freaking save function!!!!!!!!!!

    Working at a professional shop where time is a high priority I don't need to spend 5 minutes making changes only to find out in the RIP that the changes didn't work and I have to go back several times over making the same changes again and again!

    If I could throw this POS software in the ocean I WOULD

  14. Saving, Opening, & creating files Not Responsive with Unstable Internet Connection

    Illustrator saving, creating files, and opening files seems to be tied to an internet connection, and it really fails if the connection isn't strong/stable. And this was only an issue with Illustrator (found with 24.2.3 & 24.2.0) with Photoshop and Indesign continued to function normally.

    For two weeks I began experiencing very slow saving, it being "not responsive" for about 10 minutes to save any file. I eventually found it was tied to my internet connection. I recently switched my home network to data from a mobile hotspot which works find but isn't always stable. So the saving issue wasn't…

  15. Info Panel doesn't scale down horizontally on Mac OS. Windows version scales fine. (MacOS 10.15.5)

    Tried several 5k iMacs to double check this wasn't a fluke, can't scale the Info Panel down on either one, use to be able to scale it down quite a bit (scaling works fine on the Windows version) only seems to affect the Mac version (since v24.0) doesn't scale as far. See attached image for reference.

  16. Saving Issues on Large Artboards

    I am working in the Illustrator 2020 with Windows 10. The issue I have is that when I initially work on a project with an artboard say 300"x300" it works great and seems to save just fine. However after I close out and go to re-open the saved file it comes in at 10% scale. My new artboard is 30"x30". Am I missing something? I feel like the file should remain how you saved it.

  17. Annoying glitch, that blocks UI items and makes me restart application

    Windows 10
    AI 24.0.1

    While working in AI, I can randomly encounter annoying glitch, which blocks any UI items and makes me restart application. The main thing is that application continues working - you can choose tools with keyboard shortcuts, but UI become buggy and you cannot choose any tool by mouse - nothing happens when you click on elements and you see some black rectangles instead of context menu. This situation happens absolutely randomly. I've attached some videos from mobile phone, there is clearly seen that happening.

  19. Subsequent document saves

    Whilst working on a document in the latest version of Illustrator, any subsequent saves after the initial first saves is not guaranteed to have saved. Instead I may find a temp file in the folder alongside the original version rather than the fresh updated document. This is the first time in any versions of Illustrator that I have experienced this and am extremely worried as to what other documents have supposedly been updated but haven't really?

  20. illustrator bug erasing files

    I save all files locally. Yesterday i made a 'v2' of a project, saved in the same location as the 'v1', had both opened and worked on the v2, and exported PNGs from it to use in another app (saved frequently between edits). Today I discovered the PNGs and v1 are still in the folder, but not the v2.

    It is not listed in my Mac's 'recent files', it doens not turn up in search, it is not in the cloud storage, i did not use an external, and I also did not accidentally erase the file-go into the trash-…
