View Using GPU Gets Greyed Out Permanently with Outline Mode
Hello, with fresh preferences, 'View using GPU' and scrubby zoom are enabled in Illustrator. if I turn on Outline Mode, Illustrator loses connection with my GPU. The 'View using GPU' option becomes greyed out and never restores. In order to get it back I have to delete my preferences. Here is my system info:
Illustrator 25.1
OS: Windows 10
GPU: 2 x NVIDIA Titan Black
RAM: 64 GB Memory
GPU Driver: Driver 460.89
Display: ASUS PQ321Q 4K

commentedIssue still exists on Windows 10, NVidia RTX 2080ti Studio driver 471.11 and Adobe Illustrator version 25.3.1 (also on a separate Windows 10 PC with RTX3070) Switching to Outline view immediately switches from GPU to CPU and greys out GPU preview. Switching back from Outline to Preview the GPU options remains grey. However this is only in the Window that was switched to Outline view. So as a workaround, opening a new Window in the same document (Window >New Window) gives GPU functionality in that new Window and the original window can be closed. If I want to switch back and forth between Outline and Preview I can keep both Windows open and switch between them as only the window that has been switched to Outline loses the GPU functionality. commentedSame issue, only way to fix was to revert to an older version of Illustrator after trying everything, from driver updates to Windows updates. Windows 10, RTX3070.

Anonymous commented Same here, GPU is lost when Outline mode is used, but for me it's per document, closing and re-opening fixes it, but it's quite unworkable to be honest.

commentedAs noted by others the bug is back and still in 25.3.1. Tested it with a brand new file. Worked fine with a blank artboard but as soon as anything as added the bug appeared. Creating a new file in the same Illustrator session with the bugged file open in another tab works fine with the blank artboard until you add anything too it again. Win 10
