The fix from the 29.2 release does not work anymore in 29.7. But the problem seems to be even worse that before.
Not only when typing the font reverts to an old font, but also when I change the size of the font or when I change the size of the textbox. This does not happen always, but only when a word is transfered from one line to another due the resizing of the font or the textbox. That complete line is then changed to an old font, or to a second font if I'm using two fonts in one textbox.

To make things worse, as Antoni Łuchniak wrote, the 'turn of missing glyph protection' trick no longer works too. I too downgraded back to 29.4 as Dina Dembicki wrote.

Adobe still not fixed this!! It makes Illustrator just a trash. A client accepts my file, I proceed to prepare a printing file and dont even notice, that some font somewhere in the document is replaced by other font. Fix this immediately, it literaly cost us money to use your flawed software!

Not fixed in 29.6.1. Just started happening to me yesterday, thankfully only to one file before I caught it. Downgraded back to 29.4, seems to be fine. Yeesh, what a mess for us users. I hope Adobe gets it fixed quickly.

Font choice must change when I change it. This is a new problem occuring. The font absolutely should not revert back to an earlier selection. When I write something new, it change it to another typo that I didn´t choose. Even if I try to add a point or change a letter in the middle, it change it. When I click in into an existing text box and edit the copy - the font is changed for the new typed text. It doesn't maintain the font of the text that I am editing.

I put an extra "i" in the middle and change the typo

Very frustrating bug. Everything tooked twice as long.
Problem fixed with this update.

This is happening to me too. Baffling. Attached is a screen recording. So far, it's only this one file.

It's only happened with one other file previously (maybe back in November?), and that was the bug where it converted to Myriad, the default font, not to another font used in the file. I quit and restarted Ai, didn't fix it, then restarted the machine, also didn't fix.

Mac OS 15.2, Ai 29.1.

When I drop the type cursor into a text box and type new characters it does not retain the correct font and instead places a different one previously used. This is crazy annoying! This needs to be fixed ASAP!

Good to hear that it works in 29.2. The update details should be available when the worldwide update rollout is complete, which should be anytime now.
