1. Slow performance when opening file from SMB3 volume

   Illu CC2018, OS X 10.11, SMB3 volume: open, save, place links etc. on/from SMB3 volume is incredibly slow (smae with SMB1 and SMB2). Indesign & PS CC2018 do not show this behaviour.

2. Slow response time

   I have been using a my 2014 Macbook Pro with no problems using Adobe Illustrator. However I recently switched over to a PC i7-6850K CPU and two EVGA 1080 GFX cards. And I find that when I use AI after about 1 hour it starts to seriously lag... getting worse as time goes on. The only way I have been able to temporarily resolve this is to close AI entirely and then re-open the program.

3. Not enough memory

   Have issues with CC 2017 (latest version) not being able to action things as not enough memory. Seems to be that 2GB limit that Ai imposes as my system has 64GB installed with at least 40GB free to use. The programme is also incredibly slow with anything complex. I reinstalled CS6 version, and that works faultlessly and fast with the same files, with no hesitation at all! It's at least 20x times faster than current Ai. I'm on a powerful Mac Pro with Sierra 10.12.6 and an NVIDIA 4GB GTX 970 graphics card. I have disabled GPU use as it often crashes AI. I put performance ahead of new features. There are so many vector programmes out there that work so much faster than Ai. There must be a fix as something is definitely seriously wrong here.

5. Super slow with multiple art boards

   I have 8 artboards with quite simple (ai-generated) icon style drawings. And now Illustrator is extremely slow. Every edit takes seconds. I already ungrouped the art from the ai-variations, so it's just ordinary Illustrator artwork, but still a lot of lag.

   Pasting the contents on one big new document with one artboard restores the editing speed, so my conclusion is that Illustrator gets slow when using multiple artboards. Hopefully a solution is found, since dartboard can be handy for some projects.

7. Enough with the memory sucking "upgrades" already!

   Hey Adobe, you've already forced us all to pay more for your subscription based software model now, so maybe instead of focusing so ******* building memory sucking AI generative tools for people who aren't artists, you should provide a version for the folks who don't need all this new ****. Stop messing with perfectly good and functional software that real artists want to use! I can't even tell you how many times the recent releases have crashed and I lost all my work, it's incredibly frustrating! I have a new macbook pro that can handle the demand, so the problems are clearly on your end. I miss the days of buying physical software. Give me Adobe Illustrator CS6 and stop forcing me to use your BS "upgrades" for more money, so sick of it!

8. Slow and Laggy on Latest OS MacOS 15.2 Beta

   While using the app since the OS update (15.2 Beta (24C5089c), selecting any items is very slow and often registered as a move instead of select, pretty unable. Also flagged with Apple in case its there side.

   It seems like using Magnet app together with Illustrator breaks something. Try to it for now (sadly, it is reported Ignore option does not do it).

Depuis la version 28.0 de l'application, celle-ci met beaucoup de temps à se lancer et lorsque cela se produit, je n'arrive pas à accéder à l'écran d'accueil où je peux choisir le type de plan de travail que je souhaite utiliser. Je suis contraint d'ouvrir directement un fichier depuis mon explorateur de fichiers, sinon l'application ne fonctionne pas. De plus, une fois que j'ai ouvert un fichier, il y a un temps de latence d'au moins 30 secondes, voire plus, entre chaque clic et l'exécution de l'action correspondante... En résumé, l'application est inutilisable.

10. Illustrator 27.9 introduces severe choppiness when panning with fingers on trackpad rather than Hand tool

    When panning with the Hand tool, performance remains intact and panning is smooth. When using trackpad or mouse to move the canvas, frame rate is severely low, 10 fps, even on an empty document. This is a new issue that has existed in the past but had been resolved sometime in the past year or two.

    Using a MacBook Pro with M2 Max 38-core GPU running macOS Ventura 13.5.2, the latest as of now.

    This issue reduces efficiency and hampers productivity, making it unpleasant to navigate small documents and impossible to navigate large ones with multiple dartboards.

    Uninstalling and re-installing Illustrator, and erasing preferences, with multiple system restarts in between, did not resolve the issue.

    This issue is not reproducible in Illustrator 27.8.1, before upgrading or after downgrading from 27.9. Performance with the mouse/trackpad or with the hand tool is identical and runs at 60 fps on an external display and 120 fps on the built-in display.

    The fix to this issue is available in Beta 28.1 21 (and above) and Prerelease 28.0.66 (and above). Please check, if you can, and reply back if it works for you.

11. Fan runs constantly after update to 27.4.1

    Updated to 27.4.1 yesterday. Today whenever I run Illustrator, my fan kicks in on high. Activity monitor says "Adobe Illustrator Web Content" is using 100% of my CPU.
    Using: MacBook Pro 2019, running Catalina 10.15.7
    Restarting doesn't help. Only thing that helps is to quit Illustrator or run previous version (26.5.3)

12. "Adobe Illustrator Web Content" process runs when I open the document in latest versions of AI and keeps running forever, taking CPU and RAM

    Title says it all. Wasn't happening up until few versions back. Still happens with 27.4.1.

13. Illustrator is freezing

    It's been 2 weeks that illustrator keeps freezing. I have updated, uninstalled/reinstalled the app, and still does the same thing. I'm working on a file and once I want to save, the app freezes and I can't do anything about it, no button works or anything and I'm unable to save as every time I save that's when it happens.
    I see my page/work but can't touch anything, the only way to get out is to Force quit from the task manager.
    Really need this to be resolved as I use illustrator everyday for work and can't save any of my work.

14. Delays and Sluggishness

    For the 30+ years I've been using Adobe Illustrator, I don't think I have every really been bothered by the app or an update until last year. Now when you open AI, make a new file, or try to drag content around on a canvas or move the page around using the hand tool, the app is very lethargic and jerky. It is as if it is validating all actions by an online verification before any action is done. This really makes using the app frustratingly slow.

15. placing (linking) JPGs in illustrator makes files incredibly slow to work with

    Often I create layouts that require linking JPG in my doc. Whenever there are multiple JPGs in my doc, the doc becomes very slow. I do not notice the same performance issue if the linked files are TIFs. This has been an issue for multiple versions of Illustrator.

16. AI 25.4.1 GPU performance still very slow, cannot easily editing previous version files

    Since AI 25.2 I've had problems editing files. With GPU features enabled, all UI functions, selecting, deselecting, all mouse dragging functions, menu selections are all extremely slow to respond, I'm talking several seconds between responses to clicks and movement. Turning off "Real Time Editing" helps somewhat, delays are shortened, but still very difficult to work with. Disabling Animated-zoom has no effect. Disabling GPU entirely, improves selection and dragging, but there is still a delay of several seconds after releasing the mouse button. This behavior seems restricted to editing files prior to v25.2, but not all. Preforming a "SaveAs" over the existing file does not solve the problem. I found copying and pasting the entire contents into a new blank document does seem to solve the problem, as the UI response is speedy in the new document, in the same session of AI ! New documents work normally. Copy and pasting is not a practical solution. I do not see any shape or color problems. I've refreshed AI 25 preferences, to no effect. I'm using AI 24.3 where these same problem files edit normally with GPU enabled!? I attached a typical example file. As of 9-21-2021 all my CC-Apps and graphic drivers are up to date. Video card is NVIDIA P5000-16GB/driver-v472.1/30.1.14.7212, computer HP-Z8 Xeon4112, Win21H1-19043.1237, MS HID mouse driver.

17. AiRobin using 16-24% CPU constantly

    Every time Illustrator is opened (and sometimes after it is closed) AIRobin uses cpu constantly even when no files are opened.

18. Multi-Selection Lag on M1 MacBook Pro

    When selecting multiple objects or points, Illustrator will lag consistently throughout the process and the objects will "stick" to your cursor. So the previously selected objects end up being moved while trying to select more objects.

19. Illustrator 25 extremely slow

    Illustrator 25 (the past several versions; currently running 25.2.3 on two separate Macs) on Mac OS (Big Sur) has been running extremely slowly for me. I've reinstalled the app, reset prefs, removed plugins, removed fonts, etc., unticked "GPU performance," ensured that dictation is disabled at the OS level, and Illustrator is still giving me the beach ball of death for things like selecting items in the menu with a dead-simple file.

    I have downloaded Affinity Designer, but it's not making my socks go up and down — twenty years of Illustrator muscle memory makes it hard to switch. I'm not clear on what's causing Illustrator to lock up so frequently — would love to be able to send a log file to Adobe for analysis, but not clear on how to do it. Any help would be appreciated.

20. Selection Lag / Delay v.25.2.3 Windows 10

    I have been experiencing delays with Illustrator for some time now. It will lag for a second or so when selecting objects / text. A popup will flash in the top left hand corner of the screen, but it is too brief to identify what the popup is. I have tried screen recording but it's too brief even for that. Last month I did a clean install to see if that solved the problem and it did - but it's gradually come back. Constantly having to restart the system to bring performance back to normal. I find that the AI splash screen takes longer than it used to.. and hangs on loading plugins with lots of popup window activity in the top left of the screen Windows 10 x64; Radeon Pro WX7100. Anyone else experiencing this? Getting fed up of Adobe these past two years TBH.
