1. Color dropdown gets drawn in the top left corner of the screen when first called

   When first called, the color dropdown appears in the top left corner of the display. The second call renders it where it should be. Also (not noticeable in the video, since Sharex doesn’t record clicks) — I had to click the chip twice to make it appear.

2. Behavior of buttons in the character panel when automatically converted to an icon panel

   I'm using macOS Tahoe 26.2, with English system language and the Japanese version of Illustrator. This issue started with Illustrator version 30.

   1. Check "Automatically turn into icon panel" in the User Interface preferences.
   2. Click the ♥ button in the character panel or the scroll bar when selecting a font.
   3. The character panel closes.

   • This issue did not occur up to version 29 of Ai.

3. Illustrator 2025 29.8.2 でタブ間のオブジェクトのドラッグ アンド ドロップ移動ができない / Drag and drop of objects between tabs doesn't work

   3. 29.7までは何の問題もなく、移動先タブが開き、コピーできる

   4. 移動先タブが開かない　10秒くらいタブ上でカーソルを維持するとタブが開くことがあるが、オブジェクトがない（タブ移動しただけ）

4. White looks gray in Overprint Preview

   The recent update to 29.8.1 now shows whites as grays in overprint preview. This changed feature now added leaving users unable to turn it off creates a massive problem when building anything containing white elements that are mixed or overprinting with or near grey elements. It is also a huge issue when sharing PDFs created in the new 29.8.1 with users who may not have the wherewithal to open their settings and start changing overprint settings.

   Having been an artworker using Illustrator for over 20 years now, in which time I have seen some real clangers get through, but this for anyone in working print and design or any end user viewing a shared file, is a complete and utter disaster which when combined with the recent adobe Acrobat issues with the new ui being implemented against thousands of complaints and comments on the adobe forums really is the final straw.

   The bigest issue is that it white in overprint preview is no longer white and becomes a gray which when working with other greys some of which are overprinting with overprinting whites set into the artworks due to print process requirements, shows tints close to 10% or light gray pantones as the same visually as a white as can bee seen in the attached.

   I will now potentially be advising my employer to investigate alternatives to adobe cc as it is now across the board becoming too unstable a software to reply upon. We have already moved away from acrobat company wide due to increasing costs, but these sort of issues fast become a game changer for who's software we are able to use.

   I have to assume that you are not researching any of these changes with your users as they are seemingly only consistent in their lack of research to them.

5. Every in-app window is crashing

   All in-app windows are crashing. Panels are fine, but windows will crash. This includes even the basic of the basic: new document, set color, saving settings, preferences and settings, etc.

6. Gradient Panel gets cut off when selecting a gradient object.

   There's an odd bug on Mac (M1 Pro with Latest version of Tahoe) where the Gradient Panel will expand in a way that it cuts off the position input when selecting an object with a gradient. Collapsing and opening the panel temporarily fixes it, but if you click off and click another gradient object again, it'll do it again.

   This bug was also in 30.1, and I just updated to the latest version a few minutes ago, tested it again, and the issue is still there.
   Gif was recorded using the latest version, 30.2.1.

7. アートボード左上の角に丸が表示される ／ Brush tip shape appears in top-left corner of the artboard

   再現手順
   1. Illustratorを起動して新規ドキュメントを作成する
   2. ブラシパネルでカリグラフィブラシのサムネイルをクリックする
   3. アートボードの左上の角を確認すると、ブラシの先端形状の丸が表示される

   回避策
   - ブラシツールに切り替えてからカリグラフィブラシのサムネイルをクリックすると丸は表示されない
   - 丸が表示された後でも、ブラシツールに切り替えると消える

   一度でもブラシツールに切り替えれば、その後はIllustratorを終了するまで、新たな別のドキュメントを作成してもこの丸は出現しません。

   • MacOS14（Sonoma）+Illustrator2025（29.5）で確認
   • Windowsでも同様の手順で再現するそう
   • これまで再現条件が分からず報告出来なかったが、2022年の時点で既に発生しており、現在まで改善されないままである

   1. Create a new document in Illustrator.
   2. In the Brushes panel, click a Calligraphic Brush thumbnail.
   3. A round shape appears in the top-left corner of the artboard.

   Workaround:
   - Switching to the Brush Tool before clicking the brush prevents this.
   - Switching to the Brush Tool after the shape appears will remove it.

   After switching to the Brush Tool once, it won’t appear again during the session.

   Notes:
   - Reproduced on macOS 14 (Sonoma) + Illustrator 2025 (v29.5).
   - Also confirmed on Windows.
   - This bug has existed since at least 2022 but was hard to report due to unclear steps.

   It's not harmful, but it didn’t happen in older versions and can be distracting.
   → Hoping for a fix!

   Claimed to be fixed in the latest 30.3 general release. Please update, check, and comment back it the tip ever shows up again.

8. File New dialog is invisible with two monitors

   When i click the "New" button in the homepage, the window that has all the settings to create a new document is invisible, it doesn't appear, but the arrow of my mouse shows me that it can interact with the window, but it doesn't show. I use another monitor and i have found online that illustrator tends to have bugs while having a second monitor.

9. Values in W / H fields in Transform dropdown from Control don’t get updated while editing another field with Constrain Proportions enabled

   When editing an object, click in the Height or Width input box and use the arrow keys on the keyboard to decrease the value. When changing one value (e.g. height), the other value is not updated. You must exit the window and return to it to see the value.

12. Scroll wheel crash

    Logitech MX Master 2S mouse scroll wheel has stopped functioning in latest versions of AI. Currently hanging and crashing.
    Latest Windows, Latest AI. Latest nvidia driver.
    Asuswrx90, AMD7965, 256 QVL RAM, 5090Founders, Samsung 9100 m2 OS/CACHE/Storage drives
    Expected: smooth scroll
    Actual: App hangs for 2 seconds.
    GPU accelleration settings on or off make no difference.
    I suspect it is a logitech driver issue but a basic bit of mouse functionality in very very common hardware should not be happening.

13. Centre Points of all objects are visible when I reopen files

    Illustrator 30.0 on Mac Ventura 13.7.8

    Each time I reopen a file in which I had a mix of objects with either visible or hidden centre points, most of these are visible (at least, those of paths, guides…) and they can get in the way.

    I think this started happening with the new version 30.0 (or maybe just the one before).

    Here are examples of 2 similar files, one with and one without all Centre Points showing.

    The team tried to fix this in Beta 30.1.0.109. The latest one is 30.2.0.12.

    If you can — please try to use Beta and see if no centers will be enabled or disabled when reopening a file. The fix won’t remove those that are already in a document, so we need to to toggle them manually in the Attributes panel.

14. New Document dialog doesn’t have any fields or presets

    When I try to create new project I don't see any options, or templates to begin with.

15. Can’t drag an element to a different layer

    All of a sudden i cant move an element from one layer to a different one. Only if i manually open the whole layer and drag exact element to a different one.

16. Disabling "Show The Home Screen When No Documents Are Open" corrupts custom workspace

    When "Show The Home Screen When No Documents Are Open" in General Preferences is disabled, the next time Illustrator is run, my custom workspace is corrupted, for lack of a better word. The toolbar and all panels are missing, and the Control Panel has become floating.

    It seems that even when a portion of a grouped object is selected, this function still refers to the state of the parent groups state. The display should accurately reflect the state of the selection.
