1. unresponsive after remote desktop disconnection

   While using AI (2023, Windows) via remote desktop, AI becomes unresponsive and must be force-quit each time the RDP connection drops.

   To reproduce:
   - Connect remotely to Windows

2. Lost partial fraction capabilities for OpenType

   It seems that Illustrator has lost partial fraction OpenType capabilities recently. I was able to create various types of fractions using the 'Fractions' option in the OpenType menu. As of recently, this capability has since been limited to basic fractions (1/4, 1/2, 3/4).
   Just to note that I did not change the font. I've been using the same font in both cases (Myriad Pro).
   Currently on Illustrator 2023 (Ver. 27.5).

4. Illustrator 2023 opening file crashes when there is a broken link (usually with effects applied)

   OS: Window 10
   Ver: Illustrator V27.4.1

   When I open a saved file on other machines (Same OS and Version),
   sometimes the link files are broken. However, the problem is Illustrator will crash when I click cancel on the relink pop-up window. And if the file has objects that have effects such as drop shadow/ outer glow, etc. applied. The rendering effect pop-up will load and get stuck loading, crashing the illustrator.

   It doesn't matter if I hit cancel on the rendering pop-up, which I suspect doesn't work, to begin with.

   Have to manually kill the program with the task manager.

   Here is where it freezes.

5. Characters in font doesn't show up in Illustrator, but visible for that font in Acrobat

   Editing PDF in illustrator.

   I dont know why, but the Latin and also Latin Extended font in document is throwing me missing characters in illustrator.

   Font: Lobster (fonts.google.com)

   I havent had any problem with this yet. Any tips?

   Also I had a word "wellness". "welnes" was in correct font and another "s" was missing character...

6. Automatic hyphen turns in to different glyph character

   I have a strange phenomenon on my Mac (Ventura 13.0.1): in the example there are three identical texts in 3 different font types (purchased, Adobe and Google). All fonts are available in the font manager program (RightFont) and auto-activation is enabled (the fonts are NOT activated initially).

   I open the Illustrator (27.0.1) file and RightFont reports that missing fonts are available for activation (Illustrator also reports this, but I ignore this message, as RightFont already 'takes care' of it.

   As soon as the fonts are loaded, the purchased and Google fonts have a 'strange' symbol (usually a different kind of Glyph character) at the place where an automatic hyphen should be.

   The only solution so far seems to be to close the file and open it again. Because RightFont had already activated the fonts, there is now no notification and the fonts are already activated/loaded.
   At the place where an automatic hyphen should be, it IS NOW PRESENT!

   The accompanying Illustrator PDF also contains the outline result of 'opening the first time' to show how I get it presented.

   I haven't been able to determine if this is a bug with Illustrator or the font manager program, but I see a similar problem with Suitcase in the Adobe Support Community, but no immediate solution.

7. When pasting a line with a gradient stroke it gets converted into a path

   When copy and pasting a line (with a line gradient) Illustrator converts the line to an outline path. See video.

8. Measurement labels cannot be deactivated

   In "preferences" the option to disable "Measurement labels" does not work: they always remain active. It needs to be fixed because it is very annoying when drawing. Thank you.

9. 3 Color Trace feature no longer working after v27.1 update

   3 color trace feature no longer working after v27.1 update (also effects the other limited pallet trace functions) Previously the trace would simplify the colours of a trace, now it ads far too much detail and colour variants even when you request only 3. See attached simple trace, I wanted to keep the 3 colors from the original but extras were added (defined from low res original) this never happened before. I use this feature regularly in my workflow and have done for years. please fix this bug!

10. [ExtendScript] RasterItem.colorize() does not accept SpotColor via script, but does via UI.

    MacOS 13.3.1, Adobe Illustrator 27.4.1

    The colorize() method of RasterItem doesn't accept a SpotColor via scripting, but can do via the UI, so there is no technical reason I can see why this it the case. It may be a simple bug. Also there is a workaround by using defaultFillColor which does apply a SpotColor to a RasterItem.

    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Start with document containing a bitmap (colourable) RasterItem and a SpotColor swatch.
    2. script: (adjust the swatch index to match your SpotColor swatch index)

    
    app.activeDocument.rasterItems[0].colorize(app.activeDocument.swatches[4].color);
    
    

    Expected result: colorizes the RasterItem.
    Actual result: does nothing.

11. Send to Current Layer not working - moves entire layer instead of only selected objects

    I'm trying to move some objects from one layer to another.

    I'm selecting a series of objects, then clicking on the empty layer that I want to move the objects to. I'm choosing Object > Arrange > Send to Current Layer. When I do this, instead of only the selected objects moving (expected behavior), all the objects on the layer are sent to the other layer.

    (Normally I would simply cut the objects, then use Paste In Front on another layer to paste them in the same position. But these functions are also not working for me - the objects get pasted in a random position.)

    I think it's a bug, but maybe I'm doing something wrong?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

12. Tool buttons appear as copies in other toolbars

    Ai display a copy of the currently selected tool in each custom tool panel a user have. This is distracting, eats up space, and serves no practical purposes.

    Yes, I kind of understand the logic behind this... 'what if a user does not have the currently picked tool in any panel now displayed? how can they know what tool is no active?' — but why EVERY panel? Choose one. Or let the user to choose one.

    You are allowing to create toolboxes with no fill/selector stroke, without Draw modes even (Normal/Behind/Inside) — something a user can’t get anywhere else if it’s turned off! But here you are pushing the active tool way too much.

13. Font Height Options Tab order is broken

    In Character panel, when you choose an option to display Font Height Options, hitting Tab to focus works wrong.

    Click Font Family field to focus it and press Tab to focus the next one, Font Style. It works fine, nut the next press moves the focus to the Font Size field, skipping Font Height Reference field!
    So it means we can’t access this field at all using a keyboard.

14. Spellcheck turns off when you apply Drop Shadow or other effects to a text

    Spellcheck must work for all text objects once enabled, no matter what appearance it has.

    Here, the same line of text with a typo in it has a drop shadow and a custom fill applied. No zigzag lines, and all those who count on Ai to mark they typos are in trouble.

15. replace spine grey out

    I drew a blend gradient object and then drew a wave line by pen. When I tried to use the "replace spine under object" to transform the color gradient of object to the wave line, the option of "replace spine" has been grey-out. I have already selected both the gradient object and the wave line. Please advise.

16. Outline 0.001pt isn't even - Laser doesn't understand path

    When we use an outline of 0.01pt the path is even, when we decrease the path to 0.001pt for the laser to understand we get an uneven line. How do we fix this?

17. 「レビュー用に共有」で塗りがネガポジ反転する。

    「レビュー用に共有」をしたときリンク先で表示されるドキュメントの塗りや線の色がネガポジ反転してしまいました。
    色々と試してみたところ、カラー絵文字フォントが原因のようで、アウトライン化したら正しく表示されるようになりました。
    アウトライン化前とアウトライン化後のファイルを共有しておきます。
    （正しい塗りの色は青です）

    こちらはリリース版（27.4.1)、プレリリース版（27.6）どちらも再現しました（Mac OS、Ventura）。
    Windows11のリリース版も同様です。
    いずれもブラウザはChrome。MacはSafariでも試しました。

18. Visual glitch

    White patches on screen when working on full pack layouts. To remove it and view the artwork correctly, Overprinting Preview has to be turned on, but it makes working slow.

19. Vertical Type Tool Not Working Properly

    (See Image for reference)
    When using the vertical type tool, it used to make a word have the letters stacked over each other. (like in column 'B) Now when you click with the Vertical Type Tool to type anything, it appears as image 'A'. I do not think its supposed to look like a word that has just been rotated 90 degrees? (like in column 'C')

20. Round cap overlap when using gradient along stroke

    Gradient along stroke and round cap overlaps. It is visible when the gradient is transparent. MEanwhile projecting cap does not have this issue.
    Please resolve this ASAP, my client is waiting and there is no workaround.

    1. Operating system: Both Windows and Mac has this issue.
    2. Illustrator version: 27.2
    3. How to replicate the bug: Make line, add stroke with transparency at the end, apply gradient along stroke, apply round cap.
    4. Expected result is that the cap should not overlap with the stroke.
