2. Illustrator shows spinning circle - tried everything

   I can use the mouse, but the cursor has a spinning wheel even outside Illustrator, and the menus don't work. I've been through checklists about install/reinstall, remove user preference folder, in Illustrator as in other products, I've tried moving all the fonts I could from the fonts folder. I've rebooted multiple times. I've tried reinstalling Illustrator. After doing all this, I get error messages such as "The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error (SExi)", "The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error (CANT)". I'm currently also using After Effects - I removed the user preferences using the Ctrll - Shift - Alt keys.

3. No DPI resolution in export file when export for screens

   When export I use export for screen, there is no DPI resolution in the exported files.

   Illustrator 21.1.0 - macOS
   1. Create a new document
   2. Create a simple element like a rectangle with 200 x 200 pixel
   3. Set the document size to 200 x 200 pixel
   4. Export it for screens
   5. Generate 3 diffrent files with the scale factor of 29, 58 and 87 pixel
   6. Save / Export the files
   7. Open the file in preview or Photoshop
   8. You can see that the images doesn't contain any DPI information

4. The "HDV 1080" preset needs fixing

   The "HDV 1080" preset resolution is 1920x1080. Small point, but the resolution of HDV is 1440x1080, so the naming of it is kinda wrong. I think in Photoshop, AE & Premiere, it's referred to as the "HDTV 1080" preset, so I think it's probably a mistake/typo by someone at Adobe.

   Also, the preset gives you an extra artboard which is 14400 x 14400 px for some reason (I imagine it's also a bug), so when you try to export your file, it always defaults to exporting this artboard unless you delete it. Again, small thing but clearly a mistake and kinda annoying when you do it several times a day.

5. Link location mistaken for other document's link location

   When opening a specific document, links are found missing.

   When I open the document nevertheless, click on a link and check the location, the path it shows is one that was used in a previously opened, unrelated document.

   When my colleague opens the document on her computer, everything is fine.

6. Illustrator won't open more than one file at a time.

   I have version 21.1.0 (64 bit) running on Windows 10 (more system details in attached png). I am not able to open more than one file at a time. What happens:

   1. I open a file.
   2. I double click to open another AI file (other file opening methods have same results).
   3. Nothing happens. One file remains open. I might see the spinner mouse for a sec but the second file never opens.
   4. If I try to close the first file, leaving Illustrator open, and open a new file, Illustrator becomes unresponsive and I have to close it via the Task Manager.

   -So every time I need to open a new file I have to completely close Illustrator and restart it.

   -My co-worker with the exact same set up has the same issue.

   -We're been experiencing this issue for at least a few months.

   Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.

7. Hitting Enter/Return to confirm after modifying values (Stroke, Opacity, Etc) in the Top Toolbar Opens a Move Dialog Box Instead

   When modify values such as opacity in the toolbar, i have always hit enter/return to confirm changes. As of recently however, this now opens a Move dialog box instead of submitting my changes. (See the attached gif for an example)

   If there is something wrong about my workflow please let me know, but I don't currently see any other way of confirming these types of minor edits.

   After several rounds of cancelling the move dialog, the changes will miraculously go through, but there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to why. As you can imagine, this is incredibly frustrating and has slowed my productivity to a crawl.

8. Fonts Slow EVERYTHING Down

   Fonts are the slowest feature in programs from MS Office to Adobe. This problem just caused me to lose work because AI shut down while trying to figure out how to manage a standard font with which I was working. Thanks for nothing AI and your simpleton font generators. You're fired.

9. FILE Corruption - Illustrator will not open AI files. Adobe CC/Windows 10.

   just trying to open AI files to work in ILLUSTRATOR. POS won't open. After reboot, won't open. How was the subscription model supposed to be better?

10. Zoom artefact

    Illustrator 21.1.0

    When I use a very high zoom (25 500 %), paths appear distorded or even disappear.

    It happens when GPU rendering is off as well as when it's on.

11. Undo Button Stops Working

    When using the pen tool, if I move the object or try to undo an incorrect anchor placement I cannot undo what I've done by using keyboard commands or Edit > Undo

12. Saved file reopens with some layers and data missing

    After saving my work and reopening the file later, some layers and data are missing. Around 40% of my completed work is disappearing, even though the file was saved properly.

    Please help me recover the missing data and identify the cause of this issue.

13. Opening PDF with missing font immediately saves file as .ai

    Opening a pdf which has fonts not available on your system results in an immediate save as .ai after dismissing the replace font dialog. Occasionally Illustrator will then stop accepting mouse clicks, as though it has a open dialog box waiting for an action.

    Lockup aside, the expected behavior is the file isn't saved.

    Started with the latest version of Illustrator, running on MacOS 14.8

14. Color of font randomly changes when opening file

    Tahoe 26.6.1
    Illustrator v 30.7
    I open a file I was just working on only 5 minutes prior to find that more than 75% of my text has changed color to a random color in my swatch panel. This has been happening consistently since updating to the latest version about 15 days ago. I can even see the color change when I hit space bar to preview the file before opening it. The PDF versions of the files remain fine, no random color changes.

15. Sampling a color from a layer below a placed PDF picks white, unlike previously

    Have a layered file. Top file is a linked PDF with linework. Below that layer are colours. When I want to eyedrop a colour from the layer below for a new object, while it samples the colour correctly it turns the object white instead of the colour sampled. The only work around is to turn off the linked PDF layer on top and it will sample it correctly. This was never an issue in previous versions and is very frustrating.

16. Illustrator 30.7 Bug – First Color in Recolor Artwork “Current Colors” Incorrectly Appears Gray

    After updating Adobe Illustrator to version 30.7, I am experiencing an issue with the Recolor Artwork feature. The first/original color in the Recolor Artwork panel is being displayed as gray, even though the actual artwork color is green.

    Before the update, the color was correctly recognized and displayed as green. This issue appears to have started after installing the latest Illustrator update.

    Expected behavior: The original color should be correctly recognized and displayed as green in the Recolor Artwork panel.

    Actual behavior: The first/current color is incorrectly displayed as gray, which affects the recoloring process and makes it difficult to work with the correct original color.

    I have attached screenshots showing the issue. Please investigate this as a possible bug introduced in Illustrator 30.7.

17. Scribble Effect Not Showing Up in Menu, But Still Accessible

    Before, the Scribble effect used to be found under Effects > Stylize. In the 2026 version, it's gone. Only Glowing Edges appears under Stylize. But when I search for Scribble by hitting the magnifying glass icon and typing it in, I can access the effect and still use it. Some people still use this effect for making ikat-inspired shapes, for example...I think it was removed from the menu by accident. Please readd it under Effects > Stylize.

18. SVG fehlende Pfade beim öffnen/importieren

    MacOS: 26.5.2 (25F84)
    Illustrator 30.7

    SVG wird nicht korrekt geöffnet/importiert, es fehlen Pfade!
    Wenn die Datei vorher in Inkscape neu gespeichert wird z.B. als PDF ist alles vorhanden.

    (leider kann das svg nicht angehängt werden!?)

20. Pasting a single CMYK channel value modifies all CMYK channels

    Illustrator version: 29.8.9
    Operating System: Windows 11

    Description:
    When I copy a single CMYK percentage value (for example, the K/Black percentage) from one object using the Color panel and paste it into the corresponding CMYK field of another object, Illustrator also changes the other CMYK channel values automatically.

    Expected result:
    Only the pasted CMYK channel (for example, K) should change, while the remaining CMYK values should remain unchanged.

    Actual result:
    Illustrator modifies the other CMYK channel values as well, even though I only pasted a value into a single channel.

    Question:
    Is this the expected behavior (a feature), or is it a bug? It seems impossible to copy a single CMYK percentage between objects without affecting the remaining channels.
