1. Saving AI to EPS, different outcome when opened in photoshop

   Illustrator 30.6
   I saved a multi spread AI document as single pdf files. Each spread contains one specific number.
   I open one eps-file in illustrator the expected number (50) appears.
   I open the same eps-file in photoshop a different number appears.

2. Action shortcuts lost when saving, deleting existing, and adding back to action panel.

   MACOS Tahoe 26.5.2, Illustrator 30.6

   I deleted my personal action set from the actions panel, and when I re-imported them the (extensive) set of shortcuts were missing. No shortcuts were added. Using version history I re-added a saved set from a few days ago, and it only brought in some of the shortcuts that were saved with the set at the time. I frequently save/delete/add my actions because they change based upon the job at hand and I run out of F keys. I have never had an issue with lost shortcuts until today.

3. Selection tool broken

   Using the selection tool. I can click an object and get the bounding box but can not move or drag the object. Arrow keys do work to move it but I can not move it by mouse. This reoccurs upon restart.

4. Can’t rearrange a selected object and bring it to front

   Arrange tools are completely busted. I am trying to move a selected object to front. The shortcut (shift, cmd, ] or [) does not move the selected object at all. The menu option also results in nothing.

5. Harmony Rules display all selected colors when recoloring artwork

   1. Mac Studio M1 Ultra 128GB, Tahoe 26.5.1

   I want to premise this is likely a minor bug and doesn't really affect everything, but me+ others previously reported a color guide bug on 30.6 and there is a current bug with Recolor Artwork, so I assume this inconsistency might be helpful information.

   With a group of shapes selected (any amount), select Recolor Artwork with the Color Guide panel open.

   Once the Recolor Artwork menu opens, the Color Guide Harmony Rules panel is updated to contain every color within the selected artwork group.

   Rather than display the harmony group related to a single selected color, the panel updates to simply display all selected colors.

   I have attached a screen recording showing this process as well as a screenshot showing the updated panel behaviour.

   If necessary I can provide an example file but I imagine this is reproducable.

6. 3D and Materials is very buggy in Illustrator 30.7

   I had no problems using this Effect up until recently, the update from 30.2.1 to 30.7 didn't solve it.

   Numbers and cursors are glitchy: text fields cannot be used to input a value in the Y and Z rotation of the 3D Effects window.

   3D and Materials applied to text makes the text clip out and loses its outer edges when using Ray Tracing (reproduced with different fonts, always the same issue).

   Doesn't make a difference if the text has been outlined or not.

   I believe that somehow the Perspective is turned on and stretches the letters or adds spacing value that makes the text fall out of visible area, but since the perspective text field is broken, there is no way to force toggle it to 0.

   I had no problems using this Effect up until recently, the update from 30.2.1 to 30.7 didn't solve it.

7. Illustrator 30.7: "Error reading linked file" after using Generative Expand on linked PNG images (reproducible in new documents)

   I found a reproducible issue in Illustrator 30.7 related to Generative Expand.

   Steps to reproduce

   Create a new Illustrator document.
   Place a linked PNG image.
   Use Generative Expand.
   Save the document.
   Close Illustrator.
   Reopen the document.

   Expected result
   The document opens normally.

   Actual result
   Illustrator always displays:

   "An error occurred while reading the linked file..."
   After clicking Ignore, the document opens normally and Illustrator briefly displays:
   "Links have been updated."

   However, the same error appears every time the document is reopened.

   Additional tests performed
   Reproduced in a completely new document.
   Updated Illustrator to version 30.7 → issue remains.
   Re-linked the original PNG → issue remains.
   Deleted the original linked PNG → issue remains.
   Saved the document as PDF and reopened it in Illustrator → issue still occurs.

   The generated artwork itself is intact and works correctly after clicking Ignore.
   The issue only appears after using Generative Expand.
   The original image is a PNG exported from ChatGPT, but the problem appears to be related to Illustrator's handling of the generated object rather than a missing file.

   Observation
   The Links panel contains both:
   the original linked PNG
   the Generative Object
   Even after removing the original linked file, Illustrator still reports an error while reading a linked file when reopening the document.
   This suggests that the Generative Object may retain an internal hidden reference that Illustrator cannot correctly resolve during document loading.

   Version
   Illustrator 30.7
   macOS (latest available updates)

   I found a reproducible issue in Illustrator 30.7 related to Generative Expand.

   Steps to reproduce

   Create a new Illustrator document.
   Place a linked PNG image.
   Use Generative Expand.
   Save the document.

8. Illustrator 30.6 freezes indefinitely while editing AI files with embedded PNG images

   Since updating to Illustrator 30.6, Illustrator randomly freezes while editing AI documents.

   The freeze is not a normal slowdown. The application becomes completely unresponsive and can remain frozen for several minutes or even indefinitely.

   I have already tested:

   Reinstalled Illustrator.
   Tested multiple NVIDIA driver versions.
   GPU Performance enabled and disabled.
   System Compatibility Report shows No conflicts.
   Illustrator correctly detects the RTX 4060 GPU.
   The AI files are not unusually large.
   Removing one placed PNG/PSD image sometimes eliminates the freeze, even though the image size is normal (around 1500–2000 px).

   CPU and GPU usage remain very low while Illustrator is frozen.

   I can provide the AI document, source images, System Info and System Compatibility Report if needed.

   Operating System: Windows 11 24H2 (Build 26200)
   Illustrator Version: 30.6

   Hardware:
   AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS
   NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU
   16 GB RAM

9. Un-tabbed document (i.e. dragged out of application frame) jumping to font

   Mac OS Tahoe 26.5.2
   Illustrator 30.6

   Fairly recent issue following a Mac OS update.

   I have a number of documents open/tabbed in the application frame.

   I drag one out of the application frame in order to work on it while conveniently being able to view another document in the application frame behind.

   I click on the document in the application frame to make an adjustment and the un-tabbed document jumps in front.

   Repeatedly clicking the document in the application frame does eventually give it focus but the un-tabbed document will always randomly jump to the front without me clicking anywhere near it.

   Tried resetting prefs etc. and turning application frame on and off but the issue persists. Using Stage Manager is not an option which works for me.

10. Performance issue / Freezing with Transform Effect after v30.6 update

    After updating to Adobe Illustrator v30.6, I am experiencing significant lag, freezing, and hanging when using the Appearance > fx > Distort & Transform > Transform effect. This performance degradation was not present in previous versions of the application.

    I use the Transform feature extensively in my templates. Following the latest update, I am encountering this exact same issue across all of my Windows 11 PCs.

    I hope this gets addressed and fixed in the next version update.

11. No reliable AutoSave - Cloud files constantly falling out of sync

    I saw another thread on this from 2023. It is 2026 and this issue persists...
    I am using the latest version of Illustrator on Windows.

    When I work on a new project, sometimes the AIC file simply stops autosaving. For whatever reason, it falls out of sync - which, for me, is not the issue - I guess it's understandable that sometimes files get corrupted, or are too big, or something in the sync fails. I don't understand the technicalities behind it, but I can understand it happens.

    My issue is, the fact that there is no BIG pop up alert letting me know "Your file has stopped autosaving, if something crashes now you will lose all progress", is crazy. For some reason the File Recovery feature doesn't work with AIC files that have fallen out of sync, it only works with local files. So essentially, if i use the cloud, and something crashes (which lets be honest can happen often even on my quite powerful PC), I am sure to lose progress - and with it time and money.
    This, along with the fact there is no longer an AutoSave feature on local files, which I remember existed before the cloud was introduced, makes it so Adobe Illustrator is essentially a program with no reliable AutoSave feature.
    In 2026, and with the constantly climbing pricing that adobe charges me, honestly I can't see how solving this issue wouldn't be at the VERY TOP of the priority list for feature development? What's more frustrating (and costly) than losing progress and having no reliable way to protect myself against it, that doesn't involve putting a reminder to manually save every 10 minutes?

    I saw another thread on this from 2023. It is 2026 and this issue persists...

12. Space characters differ in Illustrator and InDesign

    OS: MacOS 15.7.7 (24G720)
    Illustrator-Version: 30.6
    Illustrator offers the space characters Quarter, Half-quarter, Twenty-fourth, Eighth.
    Using these space characters in Adobe Illustrator leads to completely different results (spacing) than in Adobe InDesign.
    Is this a program error or a font error?
    I would also like to see the space characters menu expanded to include the Sixth, Eighth, Quarter, Third.

    The font team confirmed Illustrator is using the space glyph instead of the Unicode glyph (U+2009). Logged and will be fixed.

13. 2026 completely misrenders Inner Glow applied to an individual fill

    If I apply an Inner Glow to an individual fill, I just get a flat fill in the glow color at the desired transparency, with no glow effect going on.

    This is new to 2026, it worked fine in 2025.

14. グラデーション90度で印刷時に天地が逆転する

    A4でアートボードを２つ、両面デザインで作成。
    １つのアートボードに、背景色として長方形を設置。グラデーションで色を塗り、角度を90度に設定。
    すると、印刷時に天地がそのアートボードだけ逆転します。グラデーションの角度を０度や180度にすると正常の天地で印刷されます。グラデーションではなく単色にしても正常に印刷されます。グラデーション（どの色配置でも）にして、かつ90度設定にすると、天地が逆転します。PDF出力する場合、見た目は正常ですが印刷すると天地が反転されてしまい、同じです。
    まったく新しいドキュメントで作成して試しても再現されました。
    プリンターとの相性の問題、プリンター側の問題もあるかと思いますが、イラストレーター上での操作によって発生したりしなかったりするので、念のためご報告でした。

15. Exporting .ai files using Export for Screens includes clipped content from neighboring artboards

    Sending in this bug report for my employer. When Export for Screens makes individual .ai files, it isn't isolating the artwork by artboard. It's also recognizing any cropped images from neighboring artboards that are touching the cropped images on the artboard being exported. Command Y (preview) shows the wireframes and how much stuff is overlapping.

    She tested positioning the artboards far enough apart so none of the neighboring artboards' cropped images are overlapping in preview. This worked, and the ai files export perfectly clean. However, she needs the artboards to be close together for this particular workflow.

16. GPU Preview Displays Incorrect Colors and Transparency in Illustrator

    I am experiencing two related display problems in Adobe Illustrator when GPU Preview is enabled. Both problems disappear when I switch to Preview on CPU, but CPU Preview disables Animated Zoom and makes Illustrator less pleasant to use.

    Issue 1: Colors displayed in Illustrator do not match exported files

    While working in Illustrator, the colors shown on the artboard look noticeably different from the colors in the exported artwork.

    This occurs with both:

    PNG files exported through Export As
    PDF files saved from Illustrator

    The exported PNG and PDF match each other. When the Illustrator artwork is copied and pasted into Photoshop, the colors in Photoshop also match the exported PNG and PDF. This indicates that the actual artwork and exports are correct, but Illustrator’s GPU Preview is displaying the colors incorrectly.

    Switching from GPU Preview to Preview on CPU causes the artwork inside Illustrator to match the PNG, PDF, and Photoshop versions.

    Issue 2: A white rectangle changes the appearance of transparent artwork

    I have an image set to 50% opacity. When I place a white rectangle behind it, the image becomes visibly darker, even though the rectangle is the same white as the artboard.

    The white rectangle has the following settings:

    Blend mode: Normal
    Opacity: 100%
    No opacity mask
    No special transparency settings

    A 50% opacity image should not change appearance when a true white rectangle is placed behind it on an already white artboard.

    Again, switching to Preview on CPU resolves the display problem.

    Steps to reproduce

    Open a CMYK Illustrator document.
    Enable GPU Performance and GPU Preview.
    Place artwork containing light or muted colors on the artboard.
    Export the artwork as a PNG and PDF.
    Compare the exported files with the artwork displayed inside Illustrator.
    The colors displayed in Illustrator may differ from the exported files.
    Place an image at 50% opacity on the white artboard.
    Add a 100% white rectangle behind the image.
    The transparent image may become darker in GPU Preview.
    Switch to View → Preview on CPU.
    The colors and transparency display correctly.

    Expected result

    GPU Preview and CPU Preview should display the same colors and transparency. The Illustrator preview should also match the exported PNG and PDF files. Adding a true white rectangle behind transparent artwork should not darken the artwork.

    Actual result

    GPU Preview displays inaccurate colors and incorrectly darkens transparent artwork when a white rectangle is added. CPU Preview displays the artwork correctly.

    Why the current workaround is not acceptable

    Preview on CPU corrects the display, but Animated Zoom is only available with GPU Performance. This forces users to choose between accurate artwork display and normal, smooth navigation.

    For a professional design application, users need to be able to trust the colors and transparency shown on the artboard while retaining standard GPU features such as Animated Zoom.

17. Revert text on paths back to how it used to be

    Fitting text to paths used to be a simple process whereby you could easily create a path from a shape, by slicing the object and creating an open ended path, (or draw one), selecting Text to path from the pull out menu on the text tool, typing and arranging text on the path and being able to adjust whether it was to appear on the top or bottom of the path, just by dragging the centre line. (All without having to go to multiple other menus/instruction boxes). I would suggest it wasn't broken, so why was it 'fixed'?

18. Select > Same, Object > Filters menus are smaller than other ones

    Ai has just fixed the Effects menu, thanks to this report: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/36951433

    What about Select > Same that suffers from the same problem?
    What about Object > Filters (that appear only if you have plugins that offer these)?

    What about other menu related problems?

19. Link to a EPS file can cause saved file to be unopenable

    Apparently having a link to a specific EPS file can cause the AI file to be unopenable after being saved (cause "file partially opened" dialog, loading only the previews).

    Unfortunately, I can't join the EPS file causing the bug. The EPS file seems to be normal.

    Once I saved the EPS to AI and replace with the link to the AI image, the bug disappears.

20. SVG output is wrong size

    I have to create SVG files for work, and they MUST have specific dimensions. I've been using Ai 2023 with zero problems. When I "View SVG Code" the width, height, and viewBox values are all correctly set to the size of the artboard.

    I've been avoiding upgrading for obvious reasons, but the other day I decided to try out Ai 2026. Thank GOD I installed a new instance and kept 2023! I had to generate an SVG and the size is WRONG. It appears to be using the OBJECT size, not the ARTBOARD size as it should.

    I tried changing CSS Properties, the only one that produces the CORRECT dimensions is "Style Attributes (Entity References) -- WHICH WILL BE REMOVED IN THE FUTURE.

    I'm on Windows 10, in case that matters.

    Attached are text files with code produced, and screenshots of the options.
