Shift + Reflect (O) tool is too jittery to be usable
The Shift + Reflect (O) command does a very poor job of constraining a reflection. The reflection jitters regularly – sometimes it takes several tries to complete a simple 90 degree reflection. Can the tolerances please be loosened off a bit so that constraining with shift is more useful. I have noticed this behaviour over several versions of illustrator.

AI 28.0 preferences corrupted by 28.1 with some 3rd party plugins
When updating from Illustrator 28.0 to 28.1, some preference files may be corrupted if AI is running certain 3rd party plugins. These include any written with Hot Door's CORE and incorporating a WebView widget to display a web page, but I have received reports of this behavior with some SDK plugins as well.
The problem it creates is that new files are not added to the File > Open Recent Files list, and any change to a different workspace is not saved.
For my macOS Ventura with AI 28.1, deleting these preference files solved the problem: Plug-in Cache and plugincache.bin.
For Windows 10 I had to also delete Adobe Illustrator Prefs and Adobe Illustrator Cloud Prefs.

Coordinates for Symbols within Symbols
When placing a symbol within another symbol, the coordinates listed in the properties panel no longer work.
I create a symbol of a page labelling it "Page Right" and setting the registration point for the upper left. If I open the symbol and select the artwork it will register at 0,0 as expected.
Back in the main canvas, I drag a copy of the symbol to the left, transform it by reflecting vertical and save it as a symbol labelled Page Left with registration point in the upper left again.
Now I select the two symbols, align vertically by center and distribute the space between them with one as a key object and 0 distance horizontally, before defining a new symbol called Spread-2p with the registration point in the upper left corner.
When I wanted to change the artwork of my original symbol so that it was exactly 850 x 1100px, i select the artwork and modify the properties so that the item has a 5px stroke aligned to the inside of the element. I make sure that its position is 0,0 and return to the main canvas.
Editing the Page Left symbol, I make sure it is the correct size and positioned at 0,0
Editing the Spread symbol, I select the instance of the Page Left symbol and set it to 0,0. When I select the Page Right symbol, i enter it's coordinates as 850 and it's y coordinate at 0. Now my spread symbol shows an 850px gap in it between the two symbols. I have to set the Right Page symbol instance to position 0,0 to get the two elements to line up visually. But the Page Left symbol is already at 0,.0.
Something is wrong with the positioning of elements within a symbol if they are symbols. somehow they are not positioned correctly.

Don’t allow to create anything in the dedicated Dimensions layer except dimensions

Making adjustments to a value within a panel's field, either through a scroll wheel or a swipe up/down gesture, operates inversely.
1) Click on a field with a certain value in a panel (e.g., "Keyboard Increment" value in the "Properties" panel).
2) Scroll up or down to adjust its value.
3) Scrolling up will result in decreasing the value.
4) Scrolling down will now result in increasing the value.This is counter intuitive. It should work vice versa. Scrolling UP should INCREASE the value, and scrolling DOWN should DECREASE it.

'Crop Image' shows incorrect dimensions
When you crop an image, the 'Crop Image' function displays the final dimensions.
However, these dimensions are wrong.
It seems that 'Crop Image' is showing the dimensions rounded to the whole number, without actually cropping the image to a whole number.
Crop Image should display the correct dimensions, otherwise this function is useless.

Fill opacity, rgba color results in no color
Released Version of Illustrator (28.0)
Problem Description:
I can change the opacity of an element fill using fill-opacity attribute or by adding the fill like this: fill="rgba(12, 12, 12, 0.5)". But seems rgba color is not recognizable by AI, we see such element as black. If we save this as svg (save as -> svg), we can see that such elements do not have color at all, that why we see them as black.
Workaround: To avoid it we can use fill-opacity instead of rgba. But then, if we save such svg in the way like file -> export -> export for screens, (format svg), the color with fill-opacity is modified to rgba color. If we open such svg in AI, we again see black elements

I attached txt file, but this file is svg. Just replace .txt with .svg and then open it in AIReleased Version of Illustrator (28.0)

Incorrect handling of mouse clicks on the Home Screen
On the Home Screen (Preferences > General > Show the Home Screen When No Documents Are Open) the tiles representing the recent documents handle mouse clicks incorrectly.
Currently, to register a MOUSE CLICK event and open the clicked document, the position of the mouse cursor during the MOUSE DOWN event and the subsequent MOUSE UP event must be exactly the same.
Normally, to register a click it's enough that both DOWN and UP events occur within the same active area. It means that the mouse cursor can move while the mouse button is down (between the DOWN and UP events), and the click will still be registered.
For example, this is correct for the same Home Screen, if you try to click on one of the Presets buttons.
This is a minor issue if one uses a mouse. But many graphic designers use graphic tablets. And with a graphic tablet it's very difficult to perform such a click. Meaning that for a significant part of the Illustrator's user base the recent documents section is very inaccessible.

プレビューを終了できません。指定した処理を実行できませんでした。
プレビューができない。
ショートカットキーでグループ解除を繰り返し行っているとアートボード以外がすべて黒塗り状態になりAi操作不可能、反応なしに（Windowsキーからweb等は開けPCは正常に動く）。PC再起動でファイルは開けたがプレビューが出来ない状態（線画）CPUアウトラインになる。PC再起動とAi再インストールを繰り返し行う。
表示操作 ショートカット操作でプレビューを行うにもプレビューを終了できません。指定した処理を実行できませんでした。と出て改善しない。OS: Windows11 Pro Intel 1265h RAM32G

Text to Vector prompt doesn't work
When I write a prompt and hit 'generate', the bar loads as normal but then produces an error message saying, "Something went wrong, try again".

Al momento de aplicar el efecto 3D a un objeto, me aparece "error al procesar la apariencia de objeto". Ya intenté volver a instalar Illustrator y otras sugerencias, pero el error persiste. Aclaro que antes si me funcionaba, y de un momento a otro dejó de hacerlo.

The "Placement options" in the document have been replaced with the computer's final settings
I placed an 'img-1.ai' picture in Document-A with the placement option set to Bounding Box.
After saving and closing it, I created a new document, Document-B.
In Document-B, I placed the 'img-2.ai' picture with the placement option set to Bleed.
After saving and closing Document-B, I reopened Document-A.
The placement option for 'img-1.ai' had changed to Bleed.Why does the placement option not follow the document but instead follows the last-used setting?

Previewing Mid-High Complexity files incredible Sluggish - Losing time and money
So this has become tottally unnaceptable adobe.
For the price we pay monthly, it's unnaceptable that the engine used for rendering is so primitive in comparison with one used on other (more cheaper) software such as Affinity Designer.This should be one of the features you should be focusing more.
In this thread i mentioned that since some versions of ILLUSTRATOR, the same designs i had years ago, started working more and more sluggish when previewing. And no matter the HW upgrades, it's the same. (i prefer how i worked on these 3-4 years ago)

Problem is present most of the time but it is exponential with the complexity and size of the file.

GPU performance issues on Mac mini with second display attached
I am having problems with GPU performance on my Mac mini (Apple M2, 16GB) with two displays attached.
For example, when I move an object by using the arrow keys in quick succession, the artwork often does not refresh correctly. If I wait a while (sometimes about half a second) or press any key (e.g. the space bar), the artwork will update.
Disconnecting the second display, resolves the problem. Also using the CPU to preview solves it.
After further investigation, I found that it was not just the second monitor that was causing the Illustrator preview to stutter: I am using the same space for both monitors (see “Displays have separate Spaces” https://support.apple.com/en-us/guide/mac-help/mh14112/mac) – if I change this in the system preferences to use different spaces, the problem disappears.

Delay and Unresponsiveness in Help Search Function
OS: macOS Sonoma 14.1 - Adobe Illustrator 28.0
I am experiencing a persistent issue with the Help drop-down menu in Adobe Illustrator. Whenever I attempt to use the search function within this menu, the program becomes unresponsive for a prolonged period. This issue occurs consistently on the initial use of the search feature during a session.
To Reproduce: Open Adobe Illustrator, click on the 'Help' drop-down menu, type any query into the search bar.
Expected Result: The search function should respond promptly, displaying results as the query is typed.
Actual Result: Upon entering the first character in the search bar, the entire Illustrator application becomes unresponsive for an extended period. After this pause, the program displays results. Subsequent uses of the search function within the same session are issue-free.
The issue occurs on the first use of the search function in every new session of Adobe Illustrator.
As far as I can tell, this problem is exclusive to Adobe Illustrator and does not occur in other Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
The issue persists even after restarting the application and the system, resetting preferences, and uninstalling and reinstalling the program.

Can not "Save As" in Adobe Illustrator
I'm using macOS Sonoma 14.1 on a iMac 27-inch monitor.
After I upgraded to Sonoma I can not "Save As" any illustrator files in Illustrator 2023 or 2024. I can only save as if I open a previous file that I have saved on my hard drive before upgrading. I have made sure that I have "read/write" privileges but still no luck on saving new file unless I save it to iCloud. Has anyone had the same problem. I have researched on the web and have seen that this problem has been discussed for many years but this is the first time I have experienced this. I can not figure out if this is a app problem or a system problem because this problem never happened until I upgraded to Sonoma. Registration point and boundaries of a certain symbol jump when a document is opened
- Open the attached document (and review the steps from the GIF)
- Notice the second symbol's boundaries are giant (although the registration point is displayed within the artboard), and the Symbols panel seemingly shows nothing in its thumb
- Double click the second symbol to edit it
- The symbol opens and jumps into the middle of its giant boundaries, and the registration point moves as well
- Exit the mode
- The symbol is now displayed in its intended place, has normal boundaries, has the registration point in the same place, has a normal thumb...
- ...but if you make other changes in a doc, save and reopen it — you’d get the the same exact problem as before.
The appearance of the document is broken, and exporting it give wrong results. This is a very dangerous problem and leads to errors and money loss.
