Illustrator 24.1.3 Type tool and text refresh
I've been experiencing an error and annoying Type tool bug since the last update to AI 24.1.3. It happens when I type something and later I go back to edit it (for example adding extra text, fixing a type) and the change does not appear to occur until I switch to Outline view. Alternatively, if I option-drag the text path the duplicate path shows the correct text. This is an old error (at least in appearance) that was fixed several versions ago and now it's back.

Copy-pasted text don’t show ö,ü,ä,õ letters
If I copy "täpitähed" (or whatever text with those letters in) it gives messy text where öüäõ letters are not seen at all. It worked nicely before... but now sometime it becomes this messy paste. Can you please fix it!

Text in connected Area Type Text boxes becomes very unstable when scaling
MacOs Mojave 10.14.6
What did:
Made area type square object
Copied it 13 times, connected it
put this structure under mask (tried also to put every object under it's own mask- same result).
added shape objects
Scaled everything - everything fine.
selected all the text in the structure and write new one with the same font/

Usually if you select this structure of connected area type boxes in company with some shape or object and scale all this, size of text in this boxes changes accordingly.

Find and replace superscript
I've tried copying the superscripted text to the clipboard and pasting in the Replace box of the Find and Replace dialog, but it loses the superscripting, and pastes into the document without it. I find I have to go into each occurrence individually and superscript each one.

left justifying text doesn't work
Command +Shift+ L does not work. I checked my hot key preferences and even tried changing it and it still doesn't work.
2 votesA possible common solution to this is to check if other applications — browser extensions, screenshot/buffer managers, etc. — steal the hotkey Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+L combination.
Unfortunately, Illustrator can’t see other apps claiming hotkey at OS level, as can’t they.

Type
After applying a Font "size" it will change automatically when I move my mouse. This is very annoying and a big waste of my time having to go back again and again to try to get a font size to "stay" at the value I set it at. This should not happen. Fix this Adobe!

Dimensions missing when dragging text corners
When dragging the corners of text, the width and height dimensions stay at 0mm no matter how much I drag the size.

Illustrator freezes after trying to paste an HD-picture from the clipboard into Area Type
Trying to paste HD-picture from the clipboard in area type text block - Illustrator perceives the picture as a set of characters and can not cope with the amount of information.
Expected result: The action should not have a visible result, or there should be a warning about an invalid action
- Open Illustrator
- Open some of HD resolution pictures (PNG, JPG) in the Illustrator
- Select the picture (CMD+A)
- Embed the picture if it is linked
- Copy the picture (CMD+C)
- Select the Text Tool, and make one-click anywhere in a workspace of the document to start a text block.

Text shifts to the left when updating in new version 23.1.1
When updating the text (created in old version 22.1 ) on new version 23.1.1 the text shifts to the left. This is very annoying.

When I activate a font in adobe fonts the wrong font shows up in illustrator. It isnt even in the same font family.

Text becomes impossible to edit after several minutes of having the program open
Working on macOS Mojave 10.14.5 and Illustrator 23.0.4.
After working in the program for a few minutes, transform controls no longer appear around text boxes when selected (show transform controls does not fix the issue). Text attributes are then buggy when applied (tracking will not apply to selected word, can't change font). Shortly after, I can no longer select text boxes at all.
I'm a graphic designer and this issue is hurting my productivity greatly. Please provide a solution!

Type objects duplicated on top and converted to outlines
Sometimes when opening up a file, type objects are copied and placed exactly above the original type object, and converted to outlines. There are sometimes anywhere from 1 to 3 duplicated objects. It usually affects every type object in the document. The same issue has been affecting my colleagues' computers, and we often work off of the same documents and share them with each other.
We all have 15" MacBook Pros, using either Illustrator version 2018 or 2019, on Mojave.

1. What is the format of the document used, .ai or .pdf?
2. Does it happen with all the the type objects in a document, or only for some specific fonts, or point / area type only?

Acumin Font ampersands not printing or appearing in PDFs correctly.
Ampersands in Adobe's Acumin font are not printing correctly. Sections are being "cut out". When you outline the font, it doesn't appear to be making a compound shape

Variable Font Rendering Distorts Master
I'm getting some weird things happening with a 4-axis font I'm working on.
Illustrator seems to mangle the outlines for some of the masters. I realize this font is doing some weird stuff, but hoping for some clarification if it's a bug in Illustrator or my font. It appears correctly on the web though, on Axis Praxis(Chrome).
I'm attaching the ttf. It only has an 'H' glyph present. If it's helpful, there's more information about the typeface and intentions at the link below. This issue is related to an upcoming version which isn't available yet. https://www.futurefonts.xyz/scribble-tone/whoa

Issues changing type character properties
I have been having issues for a few weeks with illustrator not showing correct font or size. It used to be sporadic, but now it is happening the majority of the time! I even updated my Illustrator CC version & that didn't help.
For example, I will click on some text that is Gotham 15 pt, but the character panel says it is Myriad 12 pt. When I try changing the font or the font size, nothing happens.
It is getting to the point where I am not able to edit text size or font in my own files. Help!
