1. Sequoia 15.1 (24B83) 29.1 doesn’t export type with stroke applied

   Illustrator doesn't export stroke applied to a text element, it shows without the stroke. It only worked when stroke is outlined. Does anyone knows a way to fix it?

2. Contextual Task Bar Preventing Artboard Creation

   Normally when you click on an object you can create an artboard to fit to that graphic. However, when the Contextual Task Bar is open it bugs out and doesn't allow this.

3. Significant Performace Issues after Updating to V29.1

   I'm having significant issues using Illustrator 25 v29.1 and it's very frustrating as I'm using the program for work related activities. Any time I try to alt+drag and artboard to copy it, I get the spinning wheel of death on my Macbook Pro. Even if I try to Command+C and Command+V paste the artboard, I have the same issue. And when I look at how much memory is being used, it's not alot so I don't undertand what is happening. I've reset preferences, restarted the application, restarted the program and still have the same issue. Whereas a file of the same size in Illustrator 2024, I had no issues previously.

5. Illustrator window moves behind all other windows when you reposition the frame

   When selecting a window in Illustrator it immediately falls to the background as I move it around. VERY obnoxious.. this is also happening in Photoshop.

   Mac Studio, 64gb, Ventura 13.2.1, latest version of AI and PSD.

7. Tools don’t get removed from a toolbar when using Edit Toolbar to edit it

   Recently updated to the most recent version of Illustrator. When I try to edit/customize the toolbar the way I like, some items will not go away.

   Version of Illustrator: 28.7.1
   OS: Mac Sonoma 14.6
   Steps Taken: Used three dots at bottom of toolbar to edit. Dragging items off into drawer.
   Expected Result: Tool will be removed from toolbar.
   Actual Result: Tool is not removed from toolbar.

8. ドキュメントのラスタライズ効果設定が300ppiの場合でもApple Color Emojiが低い解像度でラスタライズされる

   macOS Ventura / iMac27inch i5/32GB/1TB
   Illustrator ver.28.3（カラーフォントに対応したバージョン全てで同様の挙動だと思われます。）

   問題が発生したときに実行していた手順
   1.　テキストツールを使いアートボード上をクリックしテキスト入力モードに
   2.　字形パレット上で任意の絵文字をダブルクリック
   3.　アートボード上のポイントテキストに絵文字が入力されるので、サイズを15pt程度に設定する。
   4.　メニューより「書式→アウトラインを作成」を実行する。
   5.　ビットマップ系のカラーグリフのフォントなのでビットマップに変換されるが、アウトライン前の表示に対して著しい解像度低下が起きる。

   想定していた結果
   アウトライン化後もアウトライン前と同程度の品質のビットマップとしてラスタライズされる。

   実際の結果
   72ppiでラスタライズした状態になる為、ドキュメントのラスタライズ効果設定にて300ppi等の高解像度設定を行っている場合、想定した品質のものにならない。

   AppleColorEmojiフォントは各グリフをpng形式で持つカラーグリフフォントです。Illustratorはこのフォントを表示するために、当フォントが数種類内包するサイズ違いのStrikeの内のもっともピクセル数の多いStrike8を利用してレンダリングします。これは各グリフが160px×160pxのサイズで、上記の手順での表示品質を充分担保できるサイズと言えます。
   しかし、アウトライン化の際、Illustratorはこのフォントが持つpngデータを利用せず、一律で「RGB/72ppi/アンチエイリアス無し」の設定でラスタライズします。そのせいで本来フォントが持つディテイルが失われます。「ドキュメントのラスタライズ効果設定」が300ppiの場合15piのグリフは60px×60px程度のサイズでラスタライズされることが期待されるのですが、72ppiで処理される為に半分程度のサイズとなります。
   アウトライン化という意味では埋め込み画像を生成する際にフォントが持つpngを読み出して配置するのが理想であると考えます。しかし、ドキュメント解像度にあわせたラスタライズ処理を行うという処理も合理的ではあります。
   いずれにせよ、データの品質を担保する意味でもドキュメントのラスタライズ効果設定に応じた処理をお願いします。

9. Layer duplication

   Hello,

   I have asked why JavaScript was not showing a layer that I know exists here:

   Working with Thom Parker it was determined that the failure to show a layer was due to multiple layers. In that thread, I discuss a work around that prevents Illustrator from creating multiple layers such that only single layer instances are saved and thus JavaScript shows and hides layers.

   Previously, when adding a PDF as a graphic element to FrameMaker or InDesign I would get a "Layers don't match" error. This had no effect and so I never looked into it, until now when it prevents JavaScript from working as indicated here:

   Feel free to contact me. Fermilab has subscribed to Creative Suite, so I am using the last released version of Illustrator.

11. Drop shadows appear lighter in v28.1

    Drop shadows appear lighter in version 28.1 compared to previous versions.

    Applying a drop shadow and opening the same file side-by-side in two versions makes this clear. Both shadows have the same settings, files have the same colour settings and profile, and are displayed on the same monitor.

    The example images show version 28.1 and 27.9, but the change is evident between 28.0 and 28.1.

12. Recent section in New Document dialog is empty with the newest update

    Latest updates cause a problem when creating a New File. The history of past artboard sizes is being wiped out on startup leaving only preset formats to choose from. I do not use any of those, I often use a 50"x100" to design in and would just click on it when needed in the large pane. There is now not even an option to customize the new file unless you choose one of the useless presets and modify it, this slows down production and is annoying as ****. This appeared in the update yesterday and is still there today- I am running v29.2.1

16. An empty document that makes Pathfinder Unite fail and a bounding box to become loose

    I am sending you an empty Illustrator file that leads to Illustrator starts to glitch badly. These are not Illustrator glitches, but a change in Illustrator's behavior due to the open document. But behavior of the App that depends on open document is a bug itself isn't it?

    This document is completely empty. And how can error be reproduced? Below are 2 examples:

    The Unite operation does not work:
    1. Open the document.
    2. Create 2 intersecting rectangles.
    3. Apply Pathfinder / Unite.
    4. The operation is unsuccessful.

    Image rotation does not work:
    1. Open the document.
    2. Import any image into the document (or drug and drop it).
    3. Press E (transform tool) and rotate the document by an arbitrary angle.
    4. The operation leads to strange results — the bounding box takes a strange shape and another attempt to rotate the image leads to unexpected results.

17. Tracking of the first character shifts the alignment of the next tab stop

    When tracking is applied to the first character of a text frame, the alignment of the next tab stop will be shifted from the correct position depending on the amount of tracking.

    Only the tracking of the first character and the next tabstop are affected, not if kerning or akiRight is applied. After the target tab stop, the position will be correct.

    This bug seems to have occurred in Illustrator 2020, as it is not reproduced in Illustrator CC2019(23.1.1).

    Environment

    • macOS 12.7.3(Apple Silicon)
    • Illustrator 2020(24.3.0)〜2024(28.5.0)

    Steps to reproduce

    1. Open the attached file trackingtabstop2019.ai in Illustrator 2020 or later
    2. Tries to edit the text in the text frame in it
    3. The engine of the text frame created in Illustrator 2019 is updated and the text is shifted

    Expected result

    Text position does not change; there is a right-align tab stop at 50pt, so text is aligned there.

    Actual result

    The text aligned to the tabstop is shifted to the tail direction.

    最初の文字にかかったトラッキングが、次のタブストップの揃え位置をずらす

    テキストフレームの最初の1文字にトラッキングをかけると、その次のタブストップの揃え位置がトラッキングの量に応じて正しい場所からずれます。

    影響があるのは1文字目のトラッキングと次のタブストップだけで、かけるのがカーニングやアキを挿入 (右 / 下) の場合は影響しません。対象のタブストップ以降は正しい位置になります。

    Illustrator CC2019(23.1.1) では再現しないため、2020でこのバグが発生したようです。

    環境

    • macOS 12.7.3(Apple Silicon)
    • Illustrator 2020(24.3.0)〜2024(28.5.0)

    再現手順

    1. 2020以降のIllustratorで、添付ファイルtrackingtabstop2019.aiを開く
    2. その中にあるテキストフレームのテキストを編集しようとする
    3. Illustrator 2019で作ったテキストフレームのエンジンが更新され、文字がずれる

    期待する結果

    文字の位置は変わりません。50ptのところに右揃えタブストップがあるので、文字はそこに揃います。

    実際の結果

    タブストップに揃えている文字が末尾方向にずれます。

18. Flash opening & closing of panels! even in older versions and tried multiple installation too!

    UI panels like layer, color, appearance, etc., are expanding & collapsing itself. Looks like flashing panel.
    I tried installing an older version & beta got the same problem—multiple installations, opening/ closing. NOTHING WORKED!

    Due to this, I'm unable to use any AI projects & my client work is getting delayed.

    Maybe it could be my PC problem but I don't get it & Please help.

19. App crashes right after saving a file

    New v. 29, the King of Crashes
    Steps taken: I restart the app. (ignore the request to restart from the crash manager, somehow, that will cause another crash soon after)
    Crashes usually happen right when the app is done saving a file.
    This is probably the version that crashes most often in a VERY long time of using AI.

20. Illustrator Crashes if any raster image fill color assigned as spot

    I have a illustrator file that contains linked PSDs. I used Grayscale PSD linked images as Spot color. But illustrator 28.5 (macOS M3 Max) crashes when playing with the PSD linked images. I am thinking about it related with rendering.

    I can not work with grayscale linked images as spot color.

    I reported crash handles to Adobe and Apple.

    Is this bug logged before? If anyone need the report file then I can send it.
