UI freezes when clicking Save file with multiple artworks, no recovery files, version 30.0 on Tahoe 26.1
This new 30.0 update is terrible, my team has lost countless hours!
As soon as you click save, the UI freezes, and doesn't allow you to save.
After clicking the task manager in order to restart the app, the file doesn't show up in the recovered files. NOTHING!
It is the worse version of Illustrator EVER. I was contemplating going back to the LTS version, but we have already done too much work in this newer version, and are certain that when we open those files, in the OLDER (But better) version, there will be issues, we saw it already in a few files, where the file is flat and not editable.. What can we do?This new 30.0 update is terrible, my team has lost countless hours!

Pasted symbol into new doc and that new symbol layer appearance overrode everything
Very unexpected /confusing issue with Illustrator today.
I cut and pasted a symbol from one document into a new doc. I tried to apply a new color to the symbol and it wouldn't work.
The appearance panel showed the objects as black, the objects on the pasteboard were brown, and when I selected them, the fill color in the toolbar showed yellow.
I broke the link to the symbol and tried to apply that yellow color to the compound path—it wouldn't work.
I released the compound path and tried to apply yellow to the individual objects—it still wouldn't work.
Rebooted Illustrator. Didn't help.
Rebooted computer. Didn't help.Restarted Illustrator, went into the original symbol, and went into the symbol, cut and pasted the paths into the new doc—still wouldn't work.
THEN... I noticed I was pasting the paths onto an empty layer named new symbol 2, so I pasted the paths onto a new layer and the colors were correct!
SO DEVS, I don't think this is a logical workflow. There is no indication on the appearance panel that a color was applied to a layer, so it's near impossible to tell what's going on.

Linked transparency ignored in document color mode CMYK
I've noticed that, at least as of Illustrator version 30.1, transparency in linked files is ignored while the document color mode is CMYK and the View Preview mode is GPU. It does not seem to matter if the original is in CMYK mode or not.
To reproduce the issue, create two Illustrator documents. In the first, draw a few objects on the artboard, setting the transparency for a few of them to anything noticeably different, and save it as Test1.ai. On the second document, set the document color mode to RGB, set the View Preview mode to GPU, and place a linked file of Test1.ai. It should look normal, as designed. Now, change the document color mode to CMYK and notice how any transparency becomes ignored. However, the second document will export or print the design correctly. You just cannot Preview it correctly using the GPU.
I tried to post the Illustrator files to test with. But, UserVoice crashes whenever I try it.

Info boxes don’t go away when you stop hovering over the toolbar
When you hover over the toolbar, the info boxes appear and do not go away when you take your cursor off of the tool. It covers my view too much!

Share for review comments are misaligned - about 5mm off.
Share for review comments are sometimes misaligned - about 5 mm below the actual comment.
In the case of text errors usually few lines below the actual error-comment.
Web interface shows the comments in the right place, but something bad happens when illustrator reads the comments back in. Its persistent in every illustrator version i have.
The same bug keeps following me in different illustrator versions. I'm not sure what is causing this. One time i suspected some file specific bug, but it keeps reappearing in newly created files. Might it be related to bleed settings? I don't know. But this bug makes share for review feature quite ununseable for serious design professionals.

Repeat objects ignore Select > Inverse command
Take a look at the GIF attached and the file.
I select the magenta square and use Select > Inverse to select everything but the square.
It select the circles, the black one and the white one (inside of Radial Repeat) — all correct. Now I try Select > Inverse one more time, expecting to get the opposite result, only the magenta square selected.
But the Radial Repeat object stays selected.
It must not. These applies to other repeat types as well.

Libraries Panel Freeze & Distortion Glitch
Persistent issue occurring on operating system: macOS Sequoia 15.7.2 with model: MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2021)
Occasionally occurring up on brand new computer macOS Sequoia 15.7.2 with model: MacBook Pro (16-in, 2025)
Both computers are on Adobe Illustrator Version: 30.0 (issue also occurred on 29.6.1)Steps to Reproduce:
- Launch Adobe Illustrator.
- Open the Libraries panel (Window > Libraries).
- Work in Illustrator for a period of time (issue does not occur immediately but happens consistently enough throughout day to interrupt working ability).
- Attempt to interact with the Libraries panel.Expected Result: The Libraries panel should display correctly and allow selection of assets.
Actual Result: The Libraries panel graphic stretches vertically and becomes disproportionate. Items in the panel are no longer selectable. The only temporary fix is quitting Illustrator and reopening it, but the issue eventually returns. Typically occurs 10-15 times a day on this computer.
Summary of Troubleshooting Attempts:
- Verified issue persists across Illustrator versions (29.6.1 and 30.0).
- Cleared Creative Cloud Libraries cache (~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Creative Cloud Libraries/ contents).
- Cleared Illustrator-specific cache (ILST and LIBS folders).
- Cleared CoreSync cache (~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync/ contents).
- Relaunched Creative Cloud Desktop and Illustrator.
- Disabled GPU Performance in Illustrator preferences.
- Verified Creative Cloud and Illustrator are up to date.
- Issue persists after all steps.Additional Notes:
- Problem began on the 2021 computer after upgrading to macOS Sequoia (did not occur on previous macOS version).
- Occurs on all macs updated to Sequoia; we have 3 others we decided to hold off on because of this issue.
- Other Adobe apps do not exhibit this behavior at this point.See screenshot for visual of issue.

Illustrator Flickering/Losing Focus when Clicking Quickly (Both CPU/GPU Modes)
Illustrator flickers when clicking quickly (or just in general) both when using GPU rendering and CPU only rendering (see attached files). It seems to lose focus on Illustrator and I can see whatever background applications I am using (e.g. Google Chrome). The problem happens in both fullscreen and windowed mode.
It seems like they have the same problem in this post and standard fixes by disabling GPU Performance doesn't work: https://www.reddit.com/r/AdobeIllustrator/comments/1muf4mt/adobe_illustrator_problem/

Artboard renaming doesn't work
When I rename an artboard, either through clicking the artboard name above my graphic, or by going through the Artboard properties panel, I change the artboard name, then save the document, and close it. When I reopen the document the previous artboard name is there, the new one wasn't saved. This happens in an .ai and .svg file.
(The webform for submitting ideas doesn't let me upload .ai or .svg files.)1 vote -
I can't see any shapes I have created inside and outside the artboard, even when I have not selected any preview options
I am not able to see any shapes, I created inside and outside the artboard. I made sure that none of the preview options are selected, still after zooming in and out whole shapes are disappearing from the illustrator software.

Acrobat PDF File Format error when saving .AI documents. The size of the passed callbacks struct is wrong.
Illustrator 30.0 (64 bit.) windows 11 recently loaded then I updated to 30.0. since then 99 % of the time I open my current .AI files to update them and save them, I receive this error which I can't fix. The only way to bypass it is the save to the downloads folder and then over write the original unsaved file with the new version. This is affecting my production time, so it is quite urgent. It could be a setting but as I don't understand the message I can't fix it.

Cloud saving only works after creating a project
Operating System: Windows 11 Home, Version 25H2 (Build 26200.7171)
Illustrator Version: 30.0 (64-bit)Steps to reproduce:
When trying to save a new file as a Cloud Document, the “Save” button remains greyed out.
I am correctly signed in to my Adobe account and can open existing Cloud files without issues.
However, Illustrator will not allow saving to the Cloud unless I first manually create a new Project folder.Expected result:
Saving directly to “Your Files” in the Creative Cloud should work without having to create a project.Actual result:
No valid Cloud location is detected until a new project is created manually.
After creating a project, the file can be saved normally.Workaround:
