Illustrator crashing after latest update
After updating Ai in the desktop app the program crashed on me several times during an afternoon. I worked with the pattern maker tool in one file and manualy in another file. After restarting both Ai and my iMac there is no way to open the files. I get a sign that says "Unable to open drawing". That happens only to the files created after updating. I tried saving as pdf and open the pdf, not working. I tried to open the files on another computer, the same happens. I then placed the pdf in Indesign, saved as a new pdf and open that file in Ai and THEN it worked, however not satisfying since all layers are missing and a ton of clipping masks are added somehow. I have had zero problems before so I really think this has to do with the update. Any suggestions?

Illustrator 22.1 doesn't store version information in the metadata
In previous versions of Illustrator I could view which version of Illustrator a file was saved as, and the version that created it, in 'Get info' in the Mac finder. For example: 'Version: Saved As v.15 Created by v.22.0.1'. This info now isn't saved with the file as shown on the attached screenshots. For us this was a very useful for checking what version a file had been saved for.

Opening Files Problem
Not sure what this message means. It started last week.
I would try to open a file, this warning box would pop up, I would press ok and half of my job is missing. Then i would restart illustrator and try it again. Sometimes it takes me 5 times restarting illustrator to get the files to open correctly.1 vote -
Brush settings revert to older ones
Literally the most illogical system. If you change one part of a brush your customizing it reverts to the older one. Worked with this for a couple years and forgot how disappointing it was. MAKE THE PAINTBRUSH TOOL MORE USER FRIENDLY.

loop glitch
when i draw a loop (or any curved line) with my wacom pen or mouse there is a 50% chance a weird ( I really dont know how to describe it, photos attached) extra color area and if I outline the stroke it stays that way. I just want a regular old stroke to stay the width I chose for it. its very time consuming to go through every loop and tweak it just slightly so the extra stuff goes away.
i'm using illustrator cc 22.1 on an imac 10.13.3 but had the problem before on my old macbook pro (can't remember if it was a cs6 problem too)

Illustrator quits unexpectedly when my script run for long
When I open Illustrator in my MacOS Sierra 10.12.5 and run my script, after 10-20 min Illustrator quits unexpectedly and this log shows up.

When Exporting .ai to .png getting white lines in all designs.
Have tried every method including saving as tiff,jpg and pdf. lines remain.This is not one design but several.Ruined 2 months of work.Have been doing these for long time and using CS6 for over two years and now suddenly this.Ideas? of a workaround?

SVG clipboard export adds an extra non-printable character in the end, breaking import.
When artwork is copied to the clipboard as SVG code,
a non-printable character is added in the end of the string.When saved to a file, doesn't import correctly in Illustrator and throws out an error when viewed in Preview in OSX

Illustrator Saving Error with 2 art boards
We were building a Billoard with extension. Art saved fine with only one artboard. We created a second artboard for the extension, then saved the file , Illustrator error states: the Dimensions of this page are out of range. Total size of both art boards 16.4611 in High x 49.9167 w. Got to have this fixed new Illustrator was updated yesterday.

Snap to Grid functionality reversed
Running AI 22.1 on OSX 10.12.6
When drawing or moving objects, they behave as if 'Snap to Grid' is checked. It isn't. If I check 'Snap to Grid', the snapping behaviour stops.

My Huion 1610 pro tablet has small bugs in illustrator.
This doesnt happen in other applications adobe or otherwise. The pen is very jittery in illustrator and its near impossible to get a straight line at times. Also, the mapped keyboard shortcuts dont work correctly. As far as I can tell this is an illustrator issue (I could be wrong) as they seem to port over nicely all other applications.

Illustrator documents open up as skewed black and gray triangles
When I open a file in illustrator, all that shows up are black and gray skewed lines and triangles. I have uninstalled and re-installed illustrator but has not fixed the problem. The image cannot be seen whatsoever. Attached file shows what SHOULD be the silhouette of the state of Illinois. This is what I get instead:

Illustrator CC 22.1 destroyed my file
22.1 (released today March 15, 2018) destroyed a complex drawing, exhibiting very odd drawing mistakes leading me to quit. Upon reopening the file was corrupted and a single object remained. I suggest NOT updating until this is solved.

Special characters and Data merge
New data merge feature does not import special characters like trademark or inch marks. Followed steps provided on https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/data-driven-graphics-templates-variables.html
Attached is an example package artwork and a csv for data merge. I need the inch marks and TM to pull in as part of the text.
I have used scripts in the past to generate artwork from data which has worked to pull in any character found here http://hypertransitory.com/blog/2015/04/26/illustrator-variable-data/

SCREEN IS ALL BLACK ON OPENING EXISTING FILE
Just updated to latest version of Illustrator this morning and when I open an existing file to work on it, the entire art board is BLACK. Only way to fix the problem is resize the Mac art board window. My whole team is experiencing this problem. PLEASE FIX ASAP.
Also copy-and-paste from illustrator to indesign seems like it has been disabled as well. Come on, folks... this is not good.... Super unhappy.
We have reverted back to the previous version in the meantime.

Discretionary ligatures get displayed even when disabled
The discretionary "st" ligature is showing on Arial and Times New Roman when I have discretionary ligatures turned off and standard ligatures turned on.
