  2. Dimension die but don’t get expanded when pasted along with the objects with Paste Remembers Layers enabled into a different document

    I have a floor plan.
    Some of the objects I have there have live dimensions attached.
    I need to copy them all from an older revision of the file into a newer one.

    1. I select objects and their dimensions together
    2. I enable Paste Remembers Layers in the Layers panel’s flyout menu
    3. I copy them
    4. I open the different document and run Edit > Paste in Place command

    It all looks fine... Objects get pasted where expected: dimensions into their own layer, other stuff to other layers.
    No shy message about objects being expanded.
    All dimensions are displayed as single entities…

  3. Adobe Illustrator 28.7.3 does not load AIBeautifulStrokes

    Adobe Illustrator 28.7.3, at least the macOS version, does not load AIBeautifulStrokes suite in my plugin (error 29550). All other versions, including up to 28.7.2, work fine. I am using SDK build 142, the version of the 2024 SDK now available for download.

  6. Vertical Scrollbar Malfunction with Tablet

    I am on a Windows PC running Windows 10 Pro 22H2. I have been having this issue in Illustrator since version 28. I DID upgrade to version 29.1 and it still persists.

    I am using a Huion Kamvas Pro 16 GT with the latest driver (15.7.6).

    What is occurring is when I use the drawing tablet stylus to manually scroll the vertical scrollbar by grabbing the cursor with the stylus, Illustrator fails to stop scrolling even when removing the stylus from the cursor. Simply dragging the pen stylus across the screen causes everything to scroll wildly. The mouse will not…

  7. Slow file open when other docs are open. Shows a magenta border. Macbook Pro Apple M3 Max; Sonoma up to date; AI 29.1

    Slow file open when other docs are open. Shows a magenta border. Macbook Pro Apple M3 Max; Sonoma up to date; AI 29.1.

    What's the issue? I have to "command zoom out" to see the file. Or close the other files prior for it to open without stalling and a magenta border.

  8. Relink or place menus not showing recent files since macOS 15.2 Sequoia update

    Since updating to macOS Sequoia 15.2, when you go to place something or relink an image, the window does not show recent paths any more, it defaults to the Documents folder.

  9. Black canvas when creating or opening a document

    When creating a new document or opening an existing document in Illustrator, I get a black screen (see attached). I have to resize the window to be able to work. This is not ok.

  11. clipping mask on an image and vector

    in Illustrator when I use the clipping mask tool on an image with a vector with a gradient, so that the image has an effect of opacity of the image towards transparent, and I press g to edit the location of the gradient color, when I return With the selection tool, all the other contents that I have in the workspace are blocked and I cannot unlock or move them, I have to undo the movement of the gradient so that everything returns to normal, but I still need to do the function of the degraded.

  12. Rectangle and shape feature only has pixels as measurement even though Inches is selected in Preferences.

    I've updated to the latest Illustrator and old versions and new versions have this same issue. When creating a rectangle or shape, it only allows pixels instead of inches even though my preferences for units is selected for INCHES. This is absolutely annoying as I can 't even put in a size for printing like a business card or letter because it only wants pixels for measurements. I've been an Illustrator user for over 30 years and this bug is huge that apparently is not being addressed in previous releases.

  13. Missing diacritical marks in layer names

    CONCERNS POLISH SPEAKERS: I have found a bug in the layer panel: when naming layers, some diacritical marks are omitted (the problem does not occur in the layer palette options - there you can name layers using all the necessary diacritical marks).

  17. Illustrator 2025 file content missing when made in illustrator 2024

    When opening a .ai file made in illustrator 2024 into illustrator 2025 all contents seem to be missing, file can be reopened in illustrator 2024 displaying all editable content, however.

  18. Eyedropper set to pickup character style and color, changes text color.

    Can anyone please explain why this happens? It has bugged me for a long time. I have the eyedropper clearly set to pickup the color as well as character style. It always reverts to black.

  19. Unable to export to SVG using 'Export to Screens'

    I cannot export as SVG using 'Export to Screens', I just get unable to export files error. Only way to do it is 'Save As' SVG and change to SVG 1.0 (1.1 doesn't work).
    Very frustrating!

  20. Unable to export to SVG using 'Export to Screens'

    I cannot Export to Screens using SVG - gives an error of 'unable to export following files'. I've tried a simple shape too and that doesn't work! The only way I can do it is to 'save as' SVG and change to SVG 1.0.
