1. Global swatches unlinking from grayscale gradient

   I'm on a Mac Pro using Mojave version 10.14.6
   Using Illustrator 2020 & 2021, both updated to latest iterations.

   I have a gradient one piece object, I turn a copy of it grayscale through the Edit Color feature > convert to grayscale, I extract the grays generated and ensure global swatches is on to keep swatches linked. Each of this swatch I rename to a specific designation. I used this grayscale gradient and use it as an opacity mask, this serves as a density mask that allows me to control the opacity of each section of the color gradient separately.
   Now I duplicate this art along with opacity mask as a new layer, I drag it to new layer to duplicate it. This new art will serve as an alternate density control with different opacity values for each color, I want to rename the existing gray swatches but i want to keep the old values too at this point both share the same gray swatches with one set of specific designation. So I go into the original gradient art opacity mask and "cut" the gray converted art into the clipboard, keeping it safe. I then proceed to rename the gray swatches to the new designation and adjusting the gray values through the K slider after that is complete I re-paste in place the data in the clipboard back to where I cut it from. The old gray swatches reappear in the swatch table, however here is where the bug occurs. When i click on select unused swatches to check for linkages the swatches that returned from me repasting back the grayed art into the opacity channel is now unlinked and for some odd reason returned grayed gradient art which should have been insulated in the clipboard is now using the new renamed swatches from the new duplicate.

   The new swatch sets and the old swatch sets were supposed to maintain links to its respective gradient art.

   So far this happens to gradients converted to grayscale 80% of the time, I think this is a bug as 20 percent of the time functions as it should like with other objects with single simple swatches.

   My background is color separation for t-shirts and i use this method to generate grayscale underbase plates that allows me control of the color density in each color area.

4. Reflect Across Vertical Axis does not account for Variable Stroke

   I was making a vector in Adobe Illustrator using Variable Stroke. I wanted to make a mirrored copy of my original left-facing drawing to have a right-facing character. But when I mirrored it, the Variable Stroke did not match the original.
   Attached is what I was working on, also labeling the three areas where the issue is most obvious. Note how the stroke thickness is not identical.

5. Color picker preview doesn't match color field/document, matches monitor RGB instead

   1. Operating system: Windows 10 Pro. Version of Adobe Illustrator: 25.0
   2. When I select a color in the color picker, the circled color in the color field doesn't match the color in the preview. The color field matches the document, but the preview shows it as much brighter. It actually matches my monitor RGB since it matches the document opened in Windows photo viewer (see attachment). I don't have this problem in Photoshop. Everything matches. It looks like the color field is correctly color managed but the preview box is not.
   3. Expected result: I expect the preview to match the color field and the document.
   4. Actual result: The preview matches my monitor RGB, so it shows as much brighter, and thus an inaccurate preview.

6. Type on Path Brackets Not Appearing

   When using type on path tool (and then direct selection for realignment), the brackets to realign often don't appear regardless of how long you tediously go over the path trying to get the cursor to change. In the off chance we can get them to appear, often it isn't possible to drag the text fully to where it needs to be to go in place before the cursor jumps. This isn't happening in Photoshop, only Illustrator, which leads me to believe it is a bug.

7. Excessive fan and temperature in v21

   Hi. Upgraded to v21 from v20 when it was automatically available. I am on a Dell laptop 7501 with Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10750H CPU @ 2.60GHz and 40gb RAM. Since installing v21 when illustrator runs it constantly runs the fans up and CPU temp is generally above 80degrees, after about an hour the program crashes. All drivers are up to date. Switched back to v20 and no issues, no fan noise in operation and temp about 20degrees lower!

8. (Slow) and not responding

   Hi!

   For the moment, I am unable to work on Illustrator. It worked fine earlier this week (even with a few unexpected crashes or slow moment).

   On a preexisting file or a brand new one, it is slow (zooming in or out for example takes seconds) if not just not responding at all: trying to move an element gives me a black window for a few sec' with a Not Responding state before I can see again and nothing has moved.

   I tried on v.25.0 and v.24.3 (from Windows 10).

   Maybe the issue comes from the computer, or Windows ?
   But the rest works fine.

   Let me know if you need more information.

9. illustrator is unable to save this document ... due to some unexpected errors.

   Prior that, I get a message saying "This file has been modified outside Illustrator. Do you want to continue?" Then I click yes.

   Then... "Illustrator is unable to save this document ... due to some unexpected errors."

   I've been getting this message every now and then whenever I try to save a document. Started when I updated my Adobe Illustrator to version 25.0.

   Save a copy yields the same result.

   Adobe Illustrator version 25.0
   macOS Catalina version 10.15.6

10. When creating new document in 24.2, two artboards are created

    Creating new document. Two artboards appear, even though I only requested one. I also now have "video safe areas" showing in default and can't get them to not show upon setting up new document.

11. Tools are all unusable

    MACOS 10.14.6 Illustrator 2021 cloud.
    Everything worked fine yesterday. New 2021 will not allow me to work on ANY project, old or new because the toolbox is locked. I launched Illustrator, opened a file, wanted to edit some text, selected the Type Tool, moved the cursor to the desired type and the cursor didn't change to the TYPE tool but showed a paintbrush with a locked icon attached. No matter which tool, or file (I tried several, also a NEW) the result was the same paintbrush icon.

13. Editing direct select tool node deletion/undo

    I love being able to delete a node just by pausing with the Apple Pencil on top of the node. However, there is a conflict with trying to move and adjust the node. Often when I am carefully and slowly moving a node, it deletes it instead of moving it. Then when I hit undo the node comes back but it isn’t visible. My work around is to click on a different line to select the nodes there and then click on the line that I want to edit. Then I can see the node I want to move again.

    This problem slows the workflow in fine tuning lines using direct select significantly. I frequently accidentally deleting instead of moving a node and then having to undo and select another line in order to see the node I want to move.

14. Alt click with the Scale tool makes y scale 0%

    Al clicking with the scale tool (to choose an origin and open the numeric scale dialog) results in a default Y scale of 0%

    That's strange!

    And please make the upmost input field the default selected one.

15. Adding colors from Adobe Libraries to swatches creates duplicates

    When I add a selection of colors from the adobe libraries panel to swatches, using the Ctrl+click and selecting 'add color to swatches' it adds them twice in the swatches panel. So if I select 5 colors and add, they show up in swatches as color1, color1,color2, color2,color3, color3,color4, color4,color5, color5

16. Distribute Spacing field is disabled if you set a key object BEFORE opening Align panel

    Windows 10 Pro (64-bit), Illustrator 24.0.1 (64-bit)

    If I wish to align / distribute two or more objects in Illustrator, if I select the objects and click on the 'master object' BEFORE I go to the 'Align' tool window, the distance box remains greyed out as you can see in one of the screenshots below. I find this very annoying, for example, I may have previously been on the 'Transform' tool window sizing my objects, then I copy them a few times and select them all, select a master object then go to the 'Align' window and the distance box is greyed out. I then have to re-select everything and re-select the master object while the 'Align' tool window is open for the distance box to become active. I find this very annoying and Illustrator CS5 didn't used to behave in this way. If this could be looked at please, it would be brilliant, thank you.

17. Error The session key is invalid or outdated

    I get this error when saving a file in Illustrator CC 2017 (21/1/0).

    Mac OS 10.12.6

    Click on OK and it goes away.

18. Unresposivness (again)

    I reported on this issue back in 2018 and for the past year or so, with the updates the issue has been solved (the response back then was that is was not a generic issue).

    Now with the latest update this came back again.
    After some time of using illustrator all the menus go blank when opening and everything stops displaying correctly especially throughout the interface and sequentially stops working all together. The good news is I can save even though I can't see if I do and after restarting the program everything works again, until it happens again.

    I had to roll back to the previous version.

    Windows 10, AI version 25.1 (now back at v 25.01)

19. Unable to save in same folder or same name

    Unable to just save in the same folder y pressing ctrl + s. I have to save in a different folder or save with a different name. Unbearable.

20. When copying text in Arabic or Hebrew, Illustrator messes up the characters.

    Somehow the text gets flipped into Jibberish. Even when Arabic fonts are used such as Adobe Arabic. This causes the world to be filled with jibberish Hewbrew and Arabic.
