1. Adobe Illustrator 28.1 creates a pdf where the colour space of the custom profile is incorrect

   Yesterday, after installing the new Adobe Illustrator update to version 28.1
   the error I reported earlier came back.
   When saving a file with a custom profile
   to PDF-X4, the Output Intent profile is incorrectly saved.

2. Illustrator 28.1 crashes after placing or replacing images

   Model Name: Mac mini
   Model Identifier: Mac14,12
   Chip: Apple M2 Pro
   Total Number of Cores: 12
   Memory: 32 GB

   A few seconds after placing or replacing an image in Illustrator 28.1 the app quits unexpectedly. Before that, it looses preview.
   I rolled back to Illustrator 28 and till now it's OK.

4. Windows 10 22H2 / Illstrator 28.3で正常に起動しない

   28.3にアップデートしたところ、正常に起動しなくなりました。アプリケーションが応答しません、となります。ひとつ前のバージョンでは正常に起動しておりました。

   a. ウイスル対策ソフト無効化
   b. AIの環境設定ファイルの削除
   c. AIのアンインストールおよび再インストール

   を試しましたが、状況は改善せず。

   また、Windows 11 23H2環境では、28.3も正常に起動します。

5. Eyedropper doesn't work on vector groups and bitmaps

   Eyedropper has stopped working with 1) groops 2) nonvector images (for instance, photos). This is extremely inconvenient and didn't exist in previous versions.

6. Illustrator highlights anchors on mouse over when anchors are below other objects

   Mouse hints sometimes don't accurately communicate what the user is about to do

   As an example of the problem, create one rectangle with a fill, then create a second rectangle with a fill that encompasses one of the points of the first rectangle. Then, using the direct selection tool, hover over that point. The mouse hint indicates that the user is about to select that point. Click, and the second rectangle will be selected instead, because it is over top of the point.

   If that point can't be selected in this way, the mouse hint shouldn't make it appear as though it can be. If a hint is presented, it should be to show that the upper object is about to be selected.

7. Artwork moves separately from its artboard when Undo is called

   when you move an artboard and have 'move artwork with artboard' checked in the properties panel (and in preferences) everything works going from point A to B. Unfortunately when you want to undo your work and use the key command 'command z' the artboard moves back to its' original location but the artwork does NOT. you have to use 'command z' several more times for the artwork to reposition itself to its original position. This makes no sense. why are 2 items that were moved at the same time in one pass not reposition themselves (back to pt. A) in one pass? This is a bug!

8. Incorrect line weight scaling after vertical reflect command

   With "Scale Strokes & Effects" turned on in preferences, using the transform panel to change the length of a line after it has had the vertical reflect command used on it will incorrectly scale the line weight.
   Attached images show the scaling behaviour after the vertical reflect command has been performed.

12. Paragraph Styles: Where has Paragaph Direction for Middle Eastern Version gone? (AI ME 2024)

    2. Illustrator 2024 Middle Eastern Version (27.9)

    3. Problem is on Paragraph Style:
       While under General on the left column I can see under "Indents and Spacing" that my Paragraph Direction is set to "Right to Left", I can't find this definition where is should be, on the left column under "Indents and Spacing". It is missing.

    4. Paragraph Direction should appear under "Indents and Spacing" on the Paragraph Style options.

    We have rolled out a release yesterday which gives the capability to turn this off through a 'Don't Show Again' option available in the popup dialog.

15. Pattern fill pixelation

    Zooming into an object filled with a pattern shows raster pixelation in the pattern. If you select the object and move it slightly or change its view, then the pattern is updated and looks vectored. This is annoying. I just want it to update and look clean when I am using the zoom tool.

16. Enter while typing does not get recorded in history as an Undo step

    When I type a text in Illustrator and hit Enter to make a paragraph break, it does not get recorded into the history as an operation I can undo. This means all typed paragraphs get clumped in history together and get undone as a whole.

    This is not how many other apps do, including InDesign and Word.

    Some apps also consider line breaks as an interruption of flow, which would have been handy too.

    It is quite similar to this report:

17. Click-drag fails... snaps back

    Click-drag, click-opt (copy) drag, click-shift (constrained) drag fails... snaps back.

    Click on object to drag it either with or without option and/or shift and sometimes it will fail and snap back to its original position.

    Mac mini M1
    MacOS 12.2.1 Monterey
    Apple Magic Mouse (no Wacom or other third party drivers)

    Same behavior on two identical machines.

    Works fine with v26.0.3.

18. Annoying Flickering Cursor when Photoshop is open

19. Plugin menu items in Select menu appear above saved selections without a divider

    Plugins can add their own menu commands in different menus.
    Specifically in Select menu, they get treated weirdly.

    Normally, without any plugins installed, the bottom of Select menu looks fine, like this:
    Save Selection...
    Edit Selection...
    Update Selection ← this is a new command added recently
    <end of menu>

    When at least one saved selection is added, Ai adds a horizontal separator and list saved selection under it:
    Save Selection...
    Edit Selection...
    Update Selection
    ————————————————
    My Amazing Selection
    <end of menu>

    Again, descent.
    But with plugins onboard it looks like the attached image.
    All plugin items are placed under the separator, above the saved presets (and if no selections are saved, there is no separator even).

    Not OK, and it always bugged me.

    The order I think makes more sense is this:
    Save Selection...
    Edit Selection...
    Update Selection
    ————————————————
    My Amazing Selection
    ————————————————
    Plugin items
    <end of menu>

    It makes the saved selections closer to their corresponding commands, and separates them from plugin items. Surely, when no selections are saved, the separator still should be there, to separate plugin ones from native commands.

    The developer told me they add the menu commands to the kSelectMenuExternalGroup, 'as prescribed by Adobe'.
    Within that menu group (not alphabetized), the menu items are added in whatever order the plugins are loaded. The developer has no control over where Illustrator chooses to add its saved selections and possibly its separator.

    Please address this.

20. Hidden clipping mask still contributes to exported image

    I had a design with two clippings mask applied to it, for layout and previewing purposes.
    When time to export a final image comes, I hide the top-level smaller one, and leave the larger one at the bottom to clip my design.

    But when I review the exported image, I realize Illustrator removed the some elements of the design, despite me seeing them on canvas. It took a live brush and deleted some parts of it even!

    Take a look at the file attached.
    1. Open it
    2. Study the layer structure, notice a hidden clipping mask. Note the design now is clipped to the artboard’s boundaries — this is what I expect to get on export
    3. Export the document to a TIFF, with any settings
    4. Review the image, notice missing elements

    Workarounds are known to me. Again, I have my reasons to have this completely legal layer structure, to have one mask hidden, and to have the other one kept (this test document is a distilled version of a larger one I had with many more artboards).

    Please address this.
