1. Embedding linked EPS files in an over-sized artboard cause them to shrink to 10% and moves

   When using an over-sized artboard, when I embed a linked .EPS - the .eps is scaled down to 10% of the original size AND it is moved to a seemingly random location on the artboard. This only happens with .EPS files. .AI and bitmap files are fine - they stay in the correct location and correct size.

2. Leading (line spacing) not shown, blank, in Character panel

   OS:
   Various Mac OS versions and hardware, including M2 Mac Studio and M3 MacBook Pro. Confirmed in screenshots on:
   Mac Sonoma 14.1
   Apple M3 Pro
   36GB of RAM

   ILLUSTRATOR VERSION:
   Various versions. Confirmed on Adobe Illustrator 2024 v28.0 (used for screenshots). This happens across computers and OS and Illustrator versions.

   STEPS TAKEN:
   Opened file and clicked on text.

   EXPECTED RESULTS:
   Selecting text should show leading in Character Panel.

   ACTUAL RESULTS:
   Leading field is blank in Character Panel.

   Leading (line spacing) is sometimes not shown in the Character Panel. The field is blank. This can occur when selecting many characters, which might be expected if different characters in the selection have different leading.

   BUT this also happens when a single character is selected, or the cursor is between characters (screenshots attached), in which case, only one leading value is possible (or should be).

   Undefined leading is a serious problem, and makes matching or checking leading very difficult in a production environment.

   OS:

3. フォントのアウトラインを取ると中が塗りつぶされる

   あるフォント（DFP中太丸ゴシック）の「管理部　部長」をアウトライン化すると「部」の文字の一部が塗りつぶされる。添付参照。
   他のフォントや文字では発生しない（自分が調べた限りです）
   現象はwindows版のイラレでのみおこり、同じファイルをMacのイラレで開いても起こりません。

4. Eyedropper DOES NOT CONSIDER COLOR EXCLUSION for TEXTS MULTICOLOR

   Eyedropper tool between two text boxes with mixed color letters. How to copy ONLY text attributes leaving the colors unchanged.
   Even by deselecting fill color and stroke color in the eyedropper detection and eyedropper application boxes, the color of the destination text becomes unique depending on which is pressed as the source and the letters do not remain colored differently.
   Please resolve!

5. Bug - Blank Workspace

   When I open an AI file there seems to be a 80/20 chance that it will not display properly. As the file is opening I can see everything but the moment it's fully loaded the workspace goes completely blank (gray without an artboard). I can still see toolbars and can move around the workspace. I can even select all and delete unseen assets but I can't draw new ones.

   I have to close and reopen the file multiple times until it happens to show up. I've already tried:
   • Resetting Preferences
   • Uninstalling and reinstalling Illustrator
   • Renaming the UXP/other folders

   Machine Details:
   • Windows 11 Pro
   • Lenovo Thinkstation P3
   • GPU: RTX A2000 12GB
   • NVIDIA 535.98

6. Single line text temporarily breaks to two lines when being moved or adjusted

   This issue has been discussed in the Adobe Community forums, and other people have been able to replicate it.

   This is the current 28.1 version of Illustrator as of Dec. 21st 2023.

   If I have text that is close to the edge of the text box, and I try to make kerning between two characters tighter/smaller, Illustrator temporarily shows the text breaking into two lines, as if it won't fit on one, before readjusting to one line again. It's making it very difficult to fine-tune kerning, as I can't see the progress I'm making. The kerning information in the Character palette does reflect the changes being made.

   Steps taken: use keyboard keys to tighten kerning between two letters, when the text is close to the edges of its containing text box, also while moving said text box using keyboard arrow keys

   Expected result: Kerning visible tightens, text box moves as-is
   Actual result: The single line of text temporarily breaks into a two-line format while performing the action, then returns to single line

   I've also noticed this happens when the text box is selected and being moved via the arrow keys. A community expert has said it can happen clicking the font family in the character tools and other items that shouldn't affect them.

   Things that have not solved it:
   - Resetting preferences
   - Changing kerning from Auto to Optical, etc.
   - Changing Paragraph options from Adobe Single-Line Composer to Adobe Every-Line Composer, or vice versa (this can temporarily solve it for a few hours, then doesn't work again)

8. Windows 11 enhance pointer precision

   If Windows 11 mouse setting "enhance pointer precision" is off, then Smart Guides and Snapping will not work in Adobe Illustrator v28.
   Turning it back on will "fix" the Smart Guides/Snapping, but it'd be nice if we could turn this off and still have Illustrator do what Illustrator should do.

10. Outline Mode Breaks display when toggling in and out of it.

    I found that when I go into outline mode and then toggle the layers off of it it breaks my display a little bit. It fixes itself if I just undo the toggling and then Cmd Y to turn it off that way but it'd be nice not having to do that.

11. Pressing Backspace in text gets recorded in History as a chain of separate Clear steps

    When we type a text, Ai treats it as one operation, all the time.

    Even when we press Enter, the flow is considered to be uninterrupted — and there a bug report about this:

    But for some reason when I hold Backspace to delete a bunch of text, Ai records each deleted symbol as a separate step, despite the fact it’s treated by users as a one operation, eating up the history steps!

    This is not what InDesign and many other apps do!

12. Envelope Distort, Layers, and Illustrator Performance Bug

    I've recently come across a bug with the envelope distortion tool. The bug happens when I use the Make with Warp effect on text. When this is applied, all the layers and sub-layers get frozen with no ability to see the thumbnail preview or to open or close any of the layers. This also affects the ability to hide or preview any layer, lock or unlock, and/or select anything in the layers.
    This also causes Illustrator to run very high ram while causing unresponsiveness and difficulty in processing and sometimes the inability to save files.

    So far, the work-a-rounds that I have found are to either expand the appearance of the effect or to go into the effect and change the font, either to a new one or re-select the original font.

    There seems to be a bug with a font selected and the envelope distortion effect that causes the layers and the program to glitch, brick, and become immensely slow at processing.

    I'm attaching a file that has this error saved in it.
    When typing this, I am working on a Windows PC that is up-to-date and running the latest up-to-date version of Illustrator.

    As per the comment from the developer of the LTTR/INK plugin, this issue is going to be fixed in the upcoming update of the tool.

    Não é possível que uma versão nova tenha um retrocesso e fique limitada em algo tão básico como modificar os traçados, falei com o suporte e me confirmaram que realmente não tem mais, não posso modificar o traçado básico para ter pontas ou ser intermitente ou ficar interno, centrado ou externo à forma... que retrocesso é esse?

14. Illustrator won't export the correct artboards

    Everytime i try to export a document, either as a PDF, JPEG, PNG, it won't export the correct artboards; say I have a document with 10 artboards and I want to export only 1 to 5, it will export all the pages. If I'm trying to export just one artboard as a JPEG, sometimes it will export another one randomly. Yes I'm making sure the artboards are labeled correctly, yes I type the correct numbers when exporting, but nothing seems to help, illustrator just exports whatever, I have to save the document, close it and open it again and try again for it to work correctly (I have to do this process as many times as it takes)

15. Can't change size

    The cursor doesn't let me resize anything including text, images and figures.
    It only allows me to change places but doesn't let me change the size.

16. libraries changes my units from inches to pixel

    Everytime I put an asset into the library and then open that asset the units are in points instead of the original inches it was created in.

17. Ungrouping - Have to ungroup 5 times before it ungroups

    Ungrouping for the last few days has not been working properly. I group 2 objects together, and then when i try to ungroup them i have to tell it to ungroup 5 times before it actually does it.

18. Illustrator 2024 Freezes When I Click Save

    Anytime the Save button is pressed, it opens the dialog box and immediately freezes. All of the buttons are grayed out besides the option to save to Creative Cloud itself. I cannot save to my computer or hard drive (both have tons of memory). I tried to use Illustrator 2023 and it didn't work either.
    I'm running a Macbook Pro 2019 with 32gb RAM and Version 12.3.

19. Libraries are responding super slowly

    Interacting with the libraries panel is SUPER slow.
    Right clicking on an item takes ~ 15 seconds for the menu to show up.
    Selecting something from the menu takes just as long to work.
    "adding to library" take 10-15 seconds.
    moving/organizing the items in the library takes 10-15 seconds

    While waiting, I can still use the drawing window/artboards no problem.
    This started happening last week. (approx feb 26 2024)

20. Bounding Box outside path and wrong dimensions

    After 22 years of using Illustrator, the bounding box does not works anymore as it was used to.
    When I draw a square of 10mm x 10mm with a centered path of 0,5mm the bounding box was always visualized precisely over the path and the dimensions of the square are 10x10mm
    Since yesterday (01.18.2024) the bounding box is visualized outside the path and the dimensions are 10,5 x 10,5mm
    Hope that is only a bug and not a feature

    Version 28.1 (64 bit) on Windows 10

    This is a feature, and you can disable it.

    Go to Preferences > General and turn off Use Preview Bounds option in the bottom right corner.

    With this enabled Illustrator includes strokes into the measured bounds.
