1. Remebering fractional values in Extrude & Bevel

   You can type in fractional values in Extrude & Bevel and they work fine, although AI rounds them up immediately in fields, though applies to the art.
   But when you try to save this appearance in Graphic style and then re-apply to another art, all fractional bits are gone, AI treats them as integers both ways.

   Hi,

   Sorry about the issue, but the feature works that ways.

   1) On applying Effects in fractional values, it gets applied immediately. While saving this appearance in Graphic style and then re-apply to another art it will work the same (as with fractional values)

   2) While trying to edit already applied effects, the input details get’s rounded off. As a result, you have to enter fractional values for the precision.

2. The hinting not applied when export to JPG with anti-aliasing set to Hint in "Export for screen"

   When exporting a JPG using "Export for screen", the hint information applied in the anti-aliasing setting is not applied and the expected output cannot be obtained.

   environment / OSX10.13.6/Illustrator ver.24.0.0

   Step to reproduce.
   1. Files -> Export -> Export for screen
   2. Set the Format as "JPG 100" and click the Preferences icon.
   3. Choose "JPG100" and set the Antialias as "Hint".
   4. Click apply and export.

   Result : The Hint no applied.

   We need to get correct images like Illustrator ver.23.

   Workaround
   Use another functionality such as "Save for Web" or use Illustrator ver.23.

   Disabling 'Export in Background' in Preferences > File Handling helps to workaround the problem (until the actual fix). Make sure you enable 'Art Optimized (Supersampling)' as an anti-aliasing option in Export for Screens settings as well.

3. Metadata title isn't saving (24.0)

   When I save an illustrator file, it's stripping out the specified metadata title and replacing it with the filename upon re-opening the file. Even if I re-enter the info in Bridge, when I modify & save the file in Illustrator, it reverts to the file name.
   When I export the image though, it attaches whatever title is showing in the file info panel in Illustrator, regardless of whether it will "stick" after closing or not.

   Also to note, if I enter info into other fields it seems to work fine. It's only the Title that is being overridden.

4. Problem Illustrator 24 does not support the old PANTONE libraries

   I tried to follow your guide: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/pantone-plus.html, that I always used to insert the old PANTONE libraries and have a conversion to CMYK instead of LAB and in this version it doesn't work.

   I contact the online chat and they replied that this thing with ILLUSTRATOR 24 is no longer supported, and it is absurd.

   I also tried to install the prereleas 24.0.1 but it doesn't work.

   I can't work without this.

5. Google Backup and Sync (aka Google Drive) locks Illustrator files and saving fails unless I quit Backup and Sync.

   This happens intermittently but frequently. Google support assures me this is not caused by them, though I don't believe it. Still, is there anything that can be done from Adobe's side?

6. Frequent crash, no crash report , sometimes does not generate recovered file

   Crashes 3-6 times per day depending on how much time I spend off and on AI. This had been going on as long as I've had this laptop, but some days are better than others. It stops responding and I have to end task via task manager. Sometimes there is NO recovered file, so I am losing work. When a recovered file is generated, sometimes images disappear or or otherwise corrupted so I have to add them all back. No particular action seems to trigger it as far as I can tell, just general use with simple things like text boxes and colored shapes. No complicated effects or anything, just the most basic elements. I never see a crash report message on the screen, although I suppose the crash reports are generated and just stored somewhere.? I am exhausted by AI all the time, but it's even more frustrating right now with many deadlines going on.

   10/4/2019 Illustrator CC update broke "Save as" PDF option of viewing the PDF after a save-as to PDF. Acrobat DC gives a"PDF not found" error, but displays the file in the "Recent" Home window.

8. BUG? CC Color Library: Not Applied or Freezing

   When I select an object and tried to color it from my CC library colrs - it doesn't apply to the shape/font - if I right click on a color in the CC library Panel, the panel freezes for a moment and disappears.

9. Character/paragraph style incompleteness

   1. Creation of Character/paragraph style is not undoable.
      You can undo any operation before and after but creation of Character/paragraph style does not get into "undo" list. You have to delete it manually from styles list.

   2. Select text\paragraph, make Character/paragraph style. Selected text/paragraph is not set instantly to this newly created style but it should.

10. Image embed option in SVG options does not work

    Environment:
    OS: Windows 10 Home
    Illustrator Version 23.0.3 (64 bit)

    Recreating the bug:
    1. Create some Illustrator artwork with a linked image (.jpg, .png, etc).
    2. Export an SVG through File > Export > Export As...
    3. Select the Image > Embed option.

    The resulting SVG does not contain the image. This was an issue introduced with Illustrator 2019, the 2018 version worked fine. Right now I'm embedding the image into the AI file itself as a workaround and then exporting it using the same method since that embeds the image into the SVG, but it would be nice if I could keep the AI file lightweight by linking the image.

11. Generic Color Palate

    I am using the newest version of Illustrator. Within the last week or so, my generic CMYK color palette has changed. The percentages that make up the color are different on nearly every color. My black color swatch used to be 100% black. Now it is C:74.97 M:67.92 Y:67.05 K:90.15. Everything in my document is set to CMYK. I changed nothing. My yellow is C:6.18 Y:96.55. It used to be 100% yellow. All of the colors have this issue. Please let me know how I can get this back to the normal way. I've been using Illustrator for the last 23 years and have never experienced anything like this.

12. Rotate tool dialogue box won't appear

    After selecting the rotate tool, rotate dialogue box won't appear.

    a dialogue box will appear only if I double click on the rotate tool but then I am not able to move the anchor point to the center of the object.

    As per the comment, the way to call the dialog and to define the arbitrary rotation pivot is to Opt/Alt+Click the desired position when the tool is picked.

    However, this does not work well sometimes, especially with a pen and a tablet, and you can upvote the problem here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/32613901

13. Bringing object forward with (Ctrl + ] ) nudges left/right instead of bringing forward.

    There is an Illustrator bug I have previously and am currently experiencing that makes an object nudge to the right/left when trying to bring an object forward. I've had this happen on Windows 7 and Windows 10. There is obviously a workaround for this, i.e. View Outlines > Select > Bring object to front / Cut Paste in Front / Paste in Back, Save and Restart Illustrator etc. but it is counterproductive to efficiency.

14. cannot place image into Illustrator.

    Cannot place or drage image to illustrator.
    Sometimes only a rectangle with X in the middle appears, or just the selection pointer appears after I try to place (using the menu) or dragging an image to the Illustrator.
    I used different *.png, *.jpg files and I could not place image in the illustrator.
    Need help.
    I use Windows 10.

15. Convert to profile

    It should be possible to convert a documents colors via the same method as in Photoshop or InDesign via "Convert to profile" rather than "Document color mode". The current way makes it hard to correctly convert correctly and nearly impossible to convert an rgb color space to another rgb color space without using cmyk as intermediary step (huge color shifts and color quality loss).

18. Character/Paragraph panels - lazy and/or incorrect updating

    Illustrator 23.0.3 on Win10

    It is vitally important to me that the Character and Paragraph panels tell me the truth at all times: an accurate description of the properties in play based on the selected text or the cursor position if nothing is selected.

    I constantly run into the problem where I select a line of text and the 'space before' and 'space after' controls in the Paragraph panel are completely wrong. Clicking the up/down arrows on the controls will change the displayed (wrong) value, and the text will suddenly leap to god-knows-where, rather than the desired "up or down by 1pt" relative to the other text in the paragraph.

    Sometimes I can see the correct current values for the text by putting the cursor in the line and moving it around with the arrow keys. The actual current values will briefly display before being replaced with Illustrator's mistaken idea of what values should be displayed.

    See attached video of the Character panel doing the same thing. The cursor is on a line of text that is set in Adobe Caslon at 25pt, but the panel is telling me it's Myriad Pro 12pt. Each time I move the cursor, the correct values are (briefly) displayed before being replaced with the uselessly wrong values. FWIW, the wrong values are the defaults: "[Normal Character Style]" and "[Normal Paragraph Style]" in the Character/Paragraph Styles panels, and if I created a new text box and started typing, yes, I'd get Myriad Pro 12/14.4. But having already typed text and changed its style to something else, I need the panels to show those values.

    It's more than a little irritating.

    'vector-effect' has 3 values : non-scaling-stroke | none | inherit

20. Can’t make an object opaque

    So, I have a very odd quirk happening. When I changed an element from 100% opaque to 70% then copied it and grouped it. Now when I ungroup it the same element that was 70% opaque now thinks it is 100% opaque.

    Essentially I can no longer make that element completely opaque anymore. I have to place another instance. This is a bit of a pain when I have resized or altered the placed element.

    I am running the latest version of Illustrator as of this post.

    I did some searching here and my issue is very similar to this issue:

    Placing elements on pasteboard works fine. I adjusted the transparency of the element on layer to 40% over a red box. Now the element shows that transparency. If you try to revise the transparency the properties window shows the element at 100%. There is no way to adjust the transparency back to it's original 100% or know the current transparency.
