Unable to use arrow keys to move anything after using Align tool in Properties panel
When using the Align tool in the Properties panel, using the arrow keys to nudge anything - text, boxes, or art - does not work. The tool in the actual Align panel works, but not Properties, meaning I have to have an extra panel open to avoid this issue. Others have also reported it.

Anti-Aliasing Method in PNG Options Resets to Type Optimized
The Preview in PNG Options is fixed (previously reported here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/48119207), but the anti-aliasing method is not sticky anymore. It stays on Type Optimized between exports.

Cmd+Opt+Shift+M Erases Text
OBSERVATION
The keyboard shortcut Cmd+Opt+Shift+M will open the Character Window and highlight the current font, however this exceptionally incredible time saving shortcut works only if the text is selected and not highlighted.While the text is highlighted, performing the Cmd+Opt+Shift+M shortcut, simply erases the highlighted text.
EXPECTED RESULTS
The mechanics of this shortcut, many versions ago, performed the expected function, whether the text was highlighted or selected.Illustrator: 29.7

Using Random Size Calligraphic Brush inside of a group/layer with an effect applied makes Ai pick only one size for each brush tip
If a layer or a group has an level effect applied (in this case it’s Transform, for creating symmetric designs), then Ai doesn’t apply random size for the calligraphy brush tips created with Brush tool inside this group/layer — but does it outside of this group / on a normal layer.
Take a look at the test file attached and the GIF recorded.
Clicking with Brush tool randomizes the size for the first object created in Layer 1 (with the effect applied), but each consequential click makes points with same thickness.
But when the same happens on Layer 2, with no effect applied, each tip is random.Thanks to e.k. kuzey for bringing this up.

Toggling Scale Stroke & Effects from Properties panel crashes Ai instantly
Selecting the arrow artwork in the attached file and toggling the Scale Stroke & Effects option from the Transform section’s dropdown in Properties panel crashes Ai instantly, on MacOS Ventura 13.7.6, M2 Pro — like it happens in the attached video.
Using the same option in Preferences works fine.

Les raccourcis clavier typographiques ne fonctionnent plus dans la 29.7
Dans le version illustrator 29.7 du 30 juillet 2025, toutes les fonctions de manipulation des typographies par les raccourcis clavier ne fonctionnent plus. Agrandir et diminuer, soit la taille, soit les interlettrages, les interlignages, etc… Exemple : option flèche du bas, du haut, droite gauche - commande majuscule point.

STAR-tool en Shear-transformatie in Illustrator 2025
Shear-transformatie vervormt TORX-vormen gemaakt met STAR-tool sinds recente update.
Sinds kort ondervind ik problemen bij het gebruik van de STAR-tool in combinatie met de Shear-transformatie in Adobe Illustrator 2025. Ik gebruik deze tool regelmatig om TORX-vormen te maken (ster met 6 afgeronde punten). Vroeger kon ik deze vorm probleemloos transformeren in perspectief met de Shear Tool. Nu leidt dezelfde handeling tot vervormde en onbruikbare resultaten.
Ik heb dit getest op een nieuwe computer met een verse installatie van Illustrator 2025. Het probleem lijkt te ontstaan wanneer afgeronde hoeken (live corners) worden toegepast. Na het toepassen van Object > Expand Appearance werkt de transformatie zoals verwacht, wat suggereert dat het probleem te maken heeft met hoe Illustrator omgaat met live effecten.
Stappen om te reproduceren:
1. Maak een ster met 6 punten via de STAR-tool.
2. Rond de hoeken af via het Properties-paneel.
3. Pas een Shear-transformatie toe.
4. Observeer de vervorming van de vorm.Verwacht gedrag:
De vorm zou in perspectief moeten worden gezet zonder vervorming, zoals in eerdere versies van Illustrator.Huidig gedrag:
De vorm vervormt op een ongewenste manier, waardoor het resultaat niet bruikbaar is.Bijlage:

Holding down 'Alt' for distance measurement prefers clipped content to clipping mask
The distance measured is the object in the mask, not the mask.

Embedded font previews get substituted when pasted as a vector smart object in Photoshop
In some case, when opening the files, the app does not inform there are missing fonts. They're still displayed like the font is already installed in system. When I copy and paste into Photoshop (as vector smart object), the text is replaced by other fonts automatically without any announcement.

Moving a segment with Direct Selection won’t display an alignment guide to another segment
Smart Guides stopped working properly with the Direct Selection tool in v29.6.1.
For example, if moving a path segment with the Direct Selection tool, construction/alignment guides no longer appear relative to surrounding elements.
In the attached screen recording, an alignment guide should appear in relation to the left vertical sides of the two rectangles. You can see the intersection label is also missing when the paths touch one another. FWIW, the feature works in v29.6 and Beta with the same settings.
On a related note, holding the Command + Shift with the primary Selection tool is also disabled now.
Please fix this ASAP. This is a critical bug that severely limits productivity and quality.

More than 1 Placed Item that has been named loses name in 29.6.1
Place 2 linked items. Rename each item in the layer panel to Item 1 and item 2. Save File as Template or Document. Reopen. Only the first name appears. The second appears as <Linked File>. Any others also are renamed to <Linked File>. This is crucial to automation of template files to replace linked files and needs to be fixed! Have no issues with 29.5

Crash when minimised on file open
When AI is minimised in Dock (latest MacOS), using right-click File, Open with in Finder causes AI to crash with no dialog. The AI window briefly opens before crash. AI v. 29.6.1

Live Paint settings reset on restart
Whenever I open Illustrator the settings for Live Paint reset themselves.
I.E. I double-click on the tool, set the swatch preview to off and highlight on, but next time I open Illustrator swatch preview is back on and highlight is off.2 votes -

Opening up previously formated files (2024) with Character/paragrah styles applied is useless in 2025!

Request for Improvement: Kerning Delay with Complex Background Data in Illustrator 2025
I am experiencing performance issues with Adobe Illustrator 2025 (latest version) in the following environment:
Environment: MacBook Pro 2024 (32GB RAM, SSD), macOS Sequoia
File Setup: Approximately 30 artboards with the same complex background (vector data or high-resolution images)
Issue: Kerning and text spacing adjustments result in a ~1-second delay per operation. Hiding the background does not resolve the issue, but removing it eliminates the delay.Attempted Solutions:
Disabled Navigator panel and layer thumbnails
Toggled GPU performance on/offRequest: Please optimize performance to ensure smooth kerning operations even with multiple artboards and complex background data.

Cyrilic character disappears when loaded from variable library
When I load a csv variable library that contains the cyrilic character ç in it, this character disappears when I merge it with the template. Using Adobe Illustrator v29.6.1 on a Mac Sequoia 15.5

The entire document fails due to the use of area text linked to different pages. Text is lost, the file freezes, won't save, or is stuck
Mi computador es un MacBook Pro 2022 - Chip Apple M2 - MacOs Sequoia 15.5, pensaba que era un error del Mac por lo que formatee el computador y volví a instalar la suite de adobe, pero no, el error sigue, fue a partir de la actualización hecha después del sábado 28 de Junio. Desde allí el ilustrator presenta diferentes errores que detallaré a continuación:
1. Para abrir un documento luego de haber trabajado en otro, se queda pensando diciendo que esta leyendo el documento y no lo abre, allí se bloquea y tengo que reiniciar el programa (adjunto pantallazo).
2. Si logro que abra, genera errores con el texto de área, si está enlazado peor, si muevo el cuadro de área del texto me salta una alerta de error PRAM (adjunté captura). Y luego, desaparecen los puntos de movimiento del cuadro de área y ya no puedo editarlo para nada.
3. Si quiero guardar el archivo, igualmente, se queda pensando, dice que lo hará en segundo plano pero no pasa nada, se queda ahí sin quitar el cuadro de guardado y si lo doy a la tecla ESC, deja de guardar y no permite guardar nada, ni exportar, ni nada.He probado con diferentes archivos y pasa igual.
Esto me ha traído ya suficientes problemas a nivel laboral donde se usa Ilustrator para crear estos documentos.
Por favor, ¿qué solución le pueden dar a esto? Está fallando demasiado.

Using Inflate with 3D & Materials gives a [Clr?] error
Ever since it was introduced, I haven't been able to access the new 3D & Materials (only the classic version). With any attempt I make to eg. inflate I get this error message: 'The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error [Clr?]'. I use Illustrator 29.6.1 on a Mac Mini M1.

Baseline Shift units change to points when Language Options gets changed to East Asian
For some reason Ai believes my Baseline Shift units MUST be in points when I choose to use East Asian Language Options, like the GIF shows.
