Startup performance Illustrator has always been sluggish on startup, but 27 seconds on a recent SSD MBP is totally unacceptable IMO.
Thoughts anyone?
By comparison PS is ready to go in 7sec.
Standard install CC 2018 / Il 22 on MacOS 10.13.1
3 votesOur typical launch numbers on a SSD MBP is around 6-7 seconds hence we would like to understand more about the issue and problem.

I can't open illustrator after updating to High Sierra Mac 10.13 it's impossible

Illustrator will not start. Adobe Illustrator quit unexpectedly during the previous launch....Run Diagnostics or Launch Ilustrator Illustrator was working fine for the last year on this computer and yesterday decided it did not want to start anymore. All other adobe products open just fine, except illustrator. I've been searching for the last hour for answers and nothing. What gives adobe.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, adobe cc cleaner, deleted prefs, and still keeps crashing.
Here's what happens:
1. Click on launch Illustor from Creative Cloud app. The Creative cloud app blinks for a second as if its trying to open illustrator but nothing.
2. Click on Launch again. Illustrator hangs when opening a file or creating a new one Windows 7 Professional with all the latest updates.
I tried the following Illustrator Versions:
V 23.0 and V 22.1
Illustrator opens as usual and I see the overview screen. When I select a file or try to create a new one it just loads forever. Nothing happens. Also in task manager there is nothing going on. No high cpu or memory usage.
I worked for years with Illustrator on this machine. Version 22.1 always worked. The issue appeared after updating to the latest version. I also uninstalled the latest version but the issue still remains. Any idea of how to…

Can No Longer Open PDF's directly to ILLUSTRATOR I just updated to Illustrator 2019 and I can no longer open a PDF into it from Bridge. Even if they were created in Illustrator. Some will open, but I have to close any other projects within Illustrator for them to open at all.

Illustrator 22.1 hangs on start; reinstall only fix I can find I have a late 2013 Mac Pro, running OS 10.13.5. This problem started about 2 months ago for no apparent reason. When I'm done with Illustrator for the day, I'll quit the application. It may be a couple of days before I have to re-enter illustrator. Most of the time this works, but now, randomly, upon clicking on the application on the launch bar, the splash screen comes up and then the app appears to load, but no start window appears. The illustrator menu bar is there, but is grayed out and you can mouse over the menu bar options…

Missing Layers Opened my document this morning and all the correct layers were there, closed out because I made no changes so there was nothing to save. reopened my document again all my layers were gone! only showing the orginal base image. Help

I do have one suggestion – please reset preferences and try again. Found the following in your crash report.

The software is glitching and refusing to open certain Illustrator files. I have to quit and open the software multiple times before I can get one file to open in this latest update.

High Sierra disables Illustrator Since updating to High Sierra last week every time I go to open Illustrator the spinning wheel appears and is never resolved. I chatted with support last week and was told I needed to contact Apple as it's a compatibility issue. They were also not able to help.

AI CC 2018 cannot launch Hello,
When I want to start illustrator, a first error message appears: (aip.png on attachment)
After clicking on "next",
a second message appears twice and then asks me to send an error report to Adobe. (impossible ai.png on attachment)I managed to run AI CC 2018 in safe mode but it lacks a lot of things like the toolbar. what should I do?

Installation Failure When I downloaded Adobe on my Asus Computer, it will load Illustrator and then after a small time period. I will receive the message saying that there was an installation failure. It will also say something such as "Error Code P204".
