BUG: Settings for number of decimals in SVG exports resets after restarting Illustrator
Illustrator isn’t saving the number of decimals that has been changed in the "Save as..." and "Export as..." dialog boxes. When quitting Illustrator, the value resets to 1, which isn’t an ideal default setting.
Steps to reproduce:
- Create a new file in Illustrator.
- Open "Export as..."
- Select "SVG (SVG)" as the file format.
- Change the number of decimals to a value other than 1.
- Click OK to export the file.
- Quit and reopen Illustrator.
- When you open the Export dialog again, the value for Number of Decimals is reset to 1.
Expected behavior:
The last used value for the number of decimals should remain as the preset.
I am using Illustrator 30.0 on macOS 15.7 (24G222).
By the way: A default setting of 1 for the number of decimals is the worst preset.

"Use Artboards" unchecked and still exporting artboards for SVG files
For PNG files, artboard is exported on first save, then saves correctly on the second attempt for whatever reason. Not so lucky with SVG. Having to manually export each one, open in a new window, crop the artboard, repeat...

Images embedded disappear after reopening the file 2025
This problem has been occurring for a few weeks: when I reopen a file containing embedded images, they disappear, turn white, or turn the original image color.
In 15 years of using ILLUSTRATOR, this has never happened, and it's truly annoying. Some files contain more than 50 images, and if a small one disappears, it's unmanageable.
The strange thing is that it doesn't happen with all files; it's random.
I'm working with Illustrator 30.0, but the same thing happened with 29.8.3.
Looking through various forums, you may already be aware of this problem.
Please fix it, as we pay a very expensive subscription.

Documents preview not updated properly in Indesign
When I save an Illustrator file, import it into Indesign, then make changes to the file, save it again and update the link in Indesign, some parts are not updated in the preview (see attached image). This doesn't happen every time, seemingly at random.
I have resolved this by first saving as an older version and then again as latest version, but that's not a real solution.
Somebody told me to uncheck 'Save in background' in settings, this also solved the problem but again, is not a real solution.I have this problem simultaneously with the (already known) problem where Indesign shows all object layers of all artboards when viewing/hiding specific object layers.
I'm using Illustrator 30 on Sonoma.

Swatch panel and gradient panel won't open at the same time. Can't change color of gradients.
Just upgraded to Illustrator 30.0 and now the swatch panel and gradient panel won't open at the same time. Can't change color of gradients. I've tried resizing, stretching... everything. This wasn't a problem until the upgrade to 30.0.

2026 converted RGB file to CMYK, won't go back
Got a new computer, downloaded Illustrator vs 2026, and signed in to Illustrator. I opened a file, started working on it, and noticed all my colors in the color panel were CMYK. The overall color setting was still RGB in the title at the top, and under color settings. Not only was everything in the color panel CMYK, but all of the options to change that were greyed out. Somehow, opening up a 2025 file in 2026 corrupted my color setting at the panel level and wouldn't let me change them back. I haven't disassembled my old PC, so I pulled up my file in Illustrator 2025, and the colors were RGB at all levels. It was not corrupted on my old setup.
I am not sure if the bug happened because I didn't upgrade my old Adobe Illustrator on my old computer, and then just started opening files in Adobe Illustrator 2026, so my files didn't get updated to the new software version, or what is happening. This is something that you need to look into, though.
*I am giggling that I am the only one complaining about my files getting changed to CMYK instead of RGB?
So I fixed this piece of artwork by creating a new RGB file and copying and pasting my artwork into that new file. No need for anyone to tell me how to fix the problem, but I shouldn't have to continue to copy and paste all my artwork from the old PC to new RGB files because ADOBE has a BUG! Bugs need to be fixed completely!
Thanks Sj
PS: If you don't have something nice, good, truthful, kind, and useful, then don't answer me. I deleted my last account on Adobe forums because I got attacked and told I wasn't good enough to be a designer because I asked a question on how to do something after a big update and change (I had just moved from a 2004 version to Creative Suite when it went to subscription, and things were different). If you are that kind of person, your opinion is none of my business, and I will actively work to get you banned if you choose violence. Using Pen tool does auto switch to add or remove points when cursor is hoving over lines or anchors.
I'm not sure if this is a new feature or not, but when using the regular pen tool, it usually displays the + or - symbol when it's over anchor points or on lines to indicate whether to add or remove. It doesn't do this now, and I have to manually switch between the 'Remove Point' or 'Add Point' version on the toolbar.

Highlight anchors on mouse over - across multiple layers
Previous versions of AI allowed highlight anchors on mouse over that applied to all currently editable layers.
For example, if there's an circle on layer one, and you start drawing on layer 2 above it, rolling the mouse over the circle highlights it's anchors, so the points you create on layer 2 are exactly over the circle.
2026 version can do this, but it only sometimes works. Most of the time it doesn't.
The option saves one from constantly averaging points. It's essential if you're sending files to a laser cutter.

3D objects don’t update
When you click an extruded object, that you have deselected and want to edit again, the change you do, doesn't seem to update. If I use a slider, it remembers the setting, but the viewport doesn't update for example the extrude depth. I regards all settings though.

Circle with thin stroke aligned inside has artifacts in GPU Preview
I’ve noticed that when I draw a circle with a diameter of 250 mm and a stroke thickness of 0.25 pt, with the stroke alignment set to inside, and then draw another circle with the same stroke thickness but a diameter of 230 mm, the smaller circle shows irregularities in the stroke line (see images).
When the stroke alignment is set to center, however, the circle is displayed correctly.
This issue isn’t serious, I just noticed it while working.2 votes -
A temporary file is generated every time you save 保存する度にテンポラリーファイルが生成されて
保存する度にテンポラリーファイルも同時に生成されて、都度削除するのが面倒なのでなんとかして欲しい。(Ver.29.8.2)
2 votesTemporary files are created while working on a document and are automatically removed once the file is saved. If further edits are made, a new temporary file is generated as needed.
We have introduced improvements to better handle temporary files. The application now detects and cleans up any unnecessary leftover files.

All options within Window > Type are greyed out when 'Enable Wacom' option is enabled
Running Illustrator 2026 (version 30.0) on a M4 Pro Mac Mini. Access to all Type options are greyed out (accessed via Window > Type). I noticed that, in the preferences, under Devices, there was an 'Enable Wacom' option, which was checked. (I don't have a Wacom tablet, though I do have an XP-Pen drawing display, though it was not plugged in, and all drivers and extensions were disabled, and I've only used it with Illustrator 2025.) However, I unchecked the option, restarted Illustrator, and all text options were available again.

Once you start typing a font name in the Font Browser the scroll wheel stops working
Once you start typing a font name in the Font Browser the scroll wheel stops working.
Several of the other menus don't scroll either. For example, the units dropdown in the create new document window.Arrow keys still work.

Missing fonts with asterisk still appear in Illustrator font menu — even after cache cleanup
Illustrator keeps showing missing fonts with an asterisk (*) in the font menu, even when those fonts are no longer installed or active.
This happens even in new blank documents and after multiple attempts to clean caches and reset preferences.
It makes the font list cluttered and hard to navigate, especially for users who work with many typefaces.
Please consider adding an option to hide missing fonts from the font menu, or improve the way Illustrator handles font references and cache rebuilding.
This issue has been affecting productivity and font management for a long time.

Live text converts to outlines when copying and pasting within Illustrator
When copying artwork that contains live (editable) text and pasting it within the same document, or between Illustrator documents, the text objects intermittently convert to outlines (rendering them non-editable). This occurs with both area type and point type.
This is happening with brand new files (not old ones). Dragging from one Illustrator document to another (correctly) brings in editable text, but I've ensured no third-party clipboard managers are enabled.
2 votesThis issue is reportedly fixed in the latest Beta 30.3.126 build.
Kindly update (or install) to verify the fix making it behave as expected, to allow the team to safely push it into the next general build.
If it still works wrongly — please comment back.

Use Artboards option disabled when exporting as PDF – even in new multi-artboard documents
Description:
In the current Illustrator version, the ‘Use Artboards’ checkbox in File ▸ Export ▸ Export As... ▸ PDF is greyed out and cannot be selected.
This happens even in a new document with multiple artboards (e.g. 3 pages with simple shapes).Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a new document with 3 artboards
2. Add simple objects on each artboard
3. Go to File ▸ Export ▸ Export As… ▸ Select PDF
4. → “Use Artboards” option is greyed outExpected result:
“Use Artboards” should be selectable so that Illustrator exports each artboard as a separate PDF file.Actual result:
Option remains disabled; Illustrator exports a single combined PDF instead.Environment:
- Illustrator version [29.8.2, e.g. 28.0.1 Windows 11]
- Tested with and without PDF-compatible AI saving
- No linked or embedded content involvedImpact (Urgency):
This issue prevents multi-page export workflows, critical in professional environments (e.g. signage, print production, packaging).
It requires manual scripting or third-party tools to achieve basic multi-page PDF export, which significantly slows production and increases error risk. Please confirm if this is a known issue and if a fix is planned.
Thank you - this is a critical production blocker for multi-artboard workflows.
