New document few options
When opening new document it only gives two options and there is no way to generate a custom template. Windows 10.

Cannot use alt with eyedropper to apply sampled style to other sections of text
Cannot use alt with eyedropper to apply sampled appearance to other objects
Mac OS High Serra 10.13.3
Illustrator CC 2018 (22.1)I used to (in CS6) be able to copy a text style by using the eyedropper once and then holding alt to apply it to other sections (the eyedropper icon would be mirrored left-right when holding alt).
Now if I hold alt, I'm getting the hand (pan) tool.
How can I get the "apply style" tool instead please?
NB: it still works with objects (background of text area in the example video), but not with text anymore.

Targeting and moving selections between layers
I just upgraded to Illustrator CC 2018 (22.1). The layers interface has more bugs than a bait store. For one thing, I can no longer move targeted selections between layers, and the "release to layers" (build or sequence) doesn't expand named layers properly.
I'm a high-end packaging production designer. I have to work with vector art and therefore multiple layers are absolutely critical to mitigate file complexity. This is a serious problem as now I refuse to release mechanicals that would be untenable for vendors.
I'll need to revert back to Illustrator CC 2017, and can only hope and pray that Version 22.1 hasn't already screwed up my files irreparably.

Shape tools lagging and leaving mark when resizing
I just started using Illustrator CC 2018 on Windows 7. I began using some of the shape tools and started to experience an issue. Each time I go to resize a shape or move it, the shape leaves an impression of its previous size or location. I tried to uninstall Illustrator and then reinstall, yet the problem persists. If I minimize or maximize the art board the lines go away. I have also found that the smart guides don't work when re positioning the shapes.

"Export as" not working as expected
When I use File > Export > Xxport as ...e.g. png, using the "Use artboards" function the "Save As" dialog isn't working properly...
Firstly, it doesn't save the name I typed exactly... "Version 1.2.png" it somehow uses parts of already existing file names like "Version 1.2_Text.png" which is really weird...
Secondly, if I use parts of the name of a file that already exists like "Text_Version 1.2.png" in the saving process and Text.png already exists it asks me if I want to overwrite that file...
2 votesIf you still have the problem, please share a test file and a strict chain of steps to reproduce the problem, ideally with a video attached the team can follow. Please mention the exact names for the files already existing in the target folder also, if it matters.

Font menu in the context menu won’t show
My font list has started to not show. I'm not sure what is causing it as it was ok then suddenly it stopped showing. Please see the attached file for more.

Adobe Illustrator CC 2018 for mac crashes when opening file
My idea is for Adobe to actually fix the problem; I've followed every linked fix to the letter and Adobe Illustrator CC 2018 for mac will open normally. But, when I try to open any file, I get the spinning pinwheel of death and have to Force Quit (Not Responding). Please provide an actual fix. Thanks

Transform grayed out
Very frequently (might be even 50 percent of the time) when I select an object the "Transform" and "Arrange" options in the "Object" menu (as well as the associated keystrokes) are grayed out as unavailable. When I deselect the menu and then select the menu again the "Transform" and "Arrange" options have magically become available. Selecting the menu a second time always "fixes" this.

Selection marquee is difficult to see when transparency grid is enabled
With the transparency grid enabled, when selecting objects with the selection tool by dragging the cursor, the marquee line for the selection is difficult to see. In the attached image, the selection marquee line can be barely seen (thin dashed line) on top of the black paths but not on top of the grid.

Illustrator 22.1 crashes on quit
Every time I close illustrator the application stops responding and I have to close through the task manager. I've already tried to delete preferences and install the application again. The problem occurred after upgrading Windows 10 to April update 2018.
My configuration

Clicking on swatch in PMS Color panel jumps down to list
So I am using a pantone color swatch book panel in Illustrator and I'll be at the top of the list and I'll click on a swatch color to change a shape's color and for some reason when I click on the swatch, it will jump down near the bottom or middle of the list so I'll have to scroll back up and click on the swatch again. It get's really tedious especially when I have to change a lot of colors or I have to go and search for a while for the pantone color again.

Jpg Image Won't Place in Illustrator 22.1

Type object selection by path
Type object selection by path does not work at all while snap to grid is enabled.
It's been this way for years... guess I've finally had enough.

Rendering Issue When Not Using Application Frame
When the Application Frame is turned off and a file is opened it does not render correctly. Instead broken sections of the screen appear. It's different each time. In order for the file to render the Application Frame must be turned on. It can then be turned back off if the user prefers not to work in the Application Frame. I have attached a screen grab of one of the files opened with the Application Frame turned off.

corrupted image shown on screen
Im working and every time I move an object around the image gets corrupted, I need to zoom in or zoom out, but its impossible, it looks like pieces are missing from the vector images. I just bought a newMac book pro, in my previous computer I did not had this issue. Please fix it its impossible to work like this

Pen Tool preview disappears
After using Illustrator for a period of time - say, 15-20 minutes - the pen tool preview ("Rubber Band") stops appearing on screen, even though it is still activated in the preferences. Restarting Illustrator restores it, until it disappears again. And over and over again. This happens on multiple PCs, multiple configurations, multiple versions of Illustrator.

Unable to apply gradient along or across a stroke
Trying to make a cylindrical/tubular structure with form.
In gradient window, when selecting to apply the gradient either within, along or across the stroke, one gets the same result. A vertically oriented gradient which has nothing to do with the stroke. Quite frustrating. even if one changes the orientation, it does absolutely nothing.
This is the reason why I upgraded. What a disappointment! And I see from the web that I'm not alone.

svg not opening correctly in Illustrator CC
When opening a .svg file Illustrator (creative cloud 2018) is opening a blank canvas. However a co-worker who is working off a previous version of illustrator (2015 I think) is able to open the file correctly.
