  1. Illustrator 25.0.0 breaks metric units when working under custom created workspace

    When I create custom workspace and want to make new object, and when I type dimensions in the dialog box, Illustrator breaks dimensions, e.g. 250 mm becomes 250.5 or 250.06 or 249.999 or else. This also happens when I open previously created documents with exact dimensions, e.g its dimensions become broken.

    Note that this is happening only with custom workspaces created, and the problem persists even if I switch back to the default workspace. The only working solution is reinstalling Illustrator and working under any of the default workspaces, which is driving me nuts. Please fix it.

  2. Illustrator 2020 (25.0) Crashes Macbook Pro 2017

    The first time I opened Illustrator 25 it crashed my MBP before it finished opening. Then my laptop wouldn't start again easily. After I unplugged all of my USB-C cables it would start. I tried AI again but it crashed my system right after AI opened. I couldn't restart again for a while until I unplugged all the cables. Third time I restarted I haven't opened AI and no problems yet so I'm fairly confident it's related.

  3. Software does'nt work

    Dear Adobe Creative Cloud helper,
    I have upgraded my software to version Illustrator 2021 via my Creative Cloud account on my iMac Pro (MacOS 10.15.7 Catalina). Everything was seemingly going right but, when I open my new Illustrator 2021, it quits out as soon as I move the mouse …
    I tried to uninstall and then install again but the same problem occurs. I can’t find out what is going wrong …
    Please Help me.

  4. Lenteur Illustrator 2021 et incapacité d'ouvrir les fichiers

    Bonjour, je travaille sur PC (Windows 10). Depuis la mise à jour (version 2021) , l'ouverture d'Illustrator est extrêmement lente. Ce matin, aucun fichier ne s'ouvre. J'ai redémarré mon pc à plusieurs reprises, désinstaller et réinstaller Illustrator. Rien n'y fait.

  5. Crash on 'Delete Layer Style'

    Every time I try to delete a layer style in the appearance panel, the software crashes.

    Running latest version of AI (CC 2021)
    OS is latest version of Windows 10 Pro

    Doesn't do it in previous versions.

  6. units won't convert for ruler

    I converted the units in my preferences to inches however the ruler kept displaying cm regardless.

  7. Myriad Pro Condensed text disappears

    I opened up an Illustrator file that I update yearly. The text is all in Myriad Pro, in a variety of styles. The section of text that was in Myriad Pro Condensed completely disappeared. The text line was still there, but when I typed nothing appeared. Changed the style to any other style (regular, bold, bold condensed and I can type it in, but if I change it back to condensed it disappears again.

  8. Simplify tool (24.2.3) still doesn't work as expected

    According to the answer from Adobe in this post ( https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-desktop-feature-requests/suggestions/38726365-please-revise-the-new-tool-to-simplify-paths-once ) the new simplify tool is supposed to be updated and work better but it is unfortunately still unusable for us who simplify lines which originates from GIS softwares etc.

    I can't understand how the new tool could simplify so strange and unusable.

    Also as a bonus, when having more complex files, Illustrator 24 freezes when trying to simplify a line. Illustrator 2019 with old tool doesn't.

  9. Cap Height setting not using Font Cap Height

    Hello, the option for setting a size of a font by the font's specified cap height appears to be using a metric other than the cap height in at least one instance.

  10. Opening Recent file shows "Fle does not exist" error

    Doing a File > Open Recent File is giving me an error "File does not exist". I have worked on the project for good number of hours and now I have to work all over again. Do you have an idea on how to retrieve back the file?

    OS: Windows 10
    Steps: File->Open Recent Files->Click the file name
    Expected: Opened file
    Actual Result: File does not Exist pop up message

  12. Embedded Grayscale image in RGB document becomes transparent in PDF

    Embed a grayscale image in an RGB document.
    Save as PDF with the Default options.
    The image becomes transparent.
    In a CMYK document embedded greyscale images become lighter.

  13. Blinking Cursor absent in Artboard panel

    Operating system: Mac OS 10.14.6
    Illustrator version: 24.2.3

    Hi, When typing inside the Artboards panel to name artboards the blinking cursor appears to be missing.

  14. Drop shadow results are unusual when converted to grayscale

    Version: 23.1 and 24.2.3
    phenomenon:
    1. Create an object
    2. use drop shadow from appearance menu
    3. From the Edit menu, select Edit Color and then Convert to Grayscale.

    After conversion, the drawing of the drop shadow is not normal.
    There will be a problem even if you save it as a PDF.

    Version 22.1 does not have this problem.

  15. shift does not create square artboard, but uses previous proportions

    illustrator 2020 - 24.2.3
    mac os catalina 10.15.6

    in the newest version of illustrator, creating a new artboard while pressing shift just creates an artboard at the same dimensions as the previous one, rather than as a square. having to take the extra steps to manually type in exact square dimensions is a real time suck when i have to create many different sizes on one document. there should be a way to get that old setting back!

  16. Export For Screens rememebers destination location (like 24.1.3 and earlier)

    EXPORT FOR SCREENS: In Version 24.2 onwards, Illustrator exports the file to the same folder as the source AI file.

    If I change the destination location, it reverts back to the same folder as the source when I reload Illustrator. Before this version, it would remember the destination location. I like to keep a separate folder for all exports, separate from my AI files.

  17. Objects become locked

    Objects become locked in place for no reason - no object is set to lock.
    This happens randomly when working with objects / shapes / strokes.

    The only way to get rid of the issue is to restart Illustrator.

  18. Window auto scrolling

    When opening Illustrator the file auto moves to the right at a slow pace. When hitting Shift it jumps - it only stay still if the mouse is off the application. The art won't stay steady on screen.

  19. New Illustrator 2020 laggy and slow on the simplest of tasks

    Illustrator 2020 is really laggy and slow, only when completing simple tasks like colour picking, moving art-boards, selecting different objects, or even just wanting to zoom in or out.

    General slowness on using Illustrator on Mac is one of the major issues reported in this thread. Illustrator team made significant progress in replacing Illustrator’s GPU rendering engine from OpenGL to macOS Native Metal Rendering Engine – https://developer.apple.com/metal/.
    We have observed common operations like Zoom, Pan, and rendering operations are now smoother in cases where it was sluggish as reported in this thread. We urge Mac users to try the Illustrator Beta build with Metal support and share your feedback.
    Please note, this may not address other performance issues reported in this thread not related to rendering like File Save, Export, or slowness in any particular feature.
