1. Transparency mask not refreshing

   I'm not sure if this is a GPU rendering issue or not. When selecting a group of objects and going into transparency mask mode to add a rectangle with black to white gradient, the effect is now not visible until I exit mask mode, which is very frustrating because I then have to keep switching over to see the effect.

2. Can't highlight values in fields

   Since update today, cannot click and drag across the numbers in the dimension boxes (properties). Can only double click to highlight. It's bugged at best.

   Is this still an issue in the latest builds?

   Does it happen only in Properties or other panels affected as well? If it’s still bugged — please record a short video showing the way it behaves at your side.

3. Text gets pasted when objects get copied or selected

   I have iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019), the latest OS BigSur 11.2, memory 64 GB 2667 MHz DDR4, video card Radeon Pro 580X 8 GB. The latest regularly updated version of Illustrator (25.1) and since last year or some I noticed that once in a while there were problems with clipboard memory.

   Whenever you copy or just select some object on artboard, immediately you get a garbled text box pasted. Very nasty, and after the latest update it has gotten considerably worse. Now I literally cannot simultaneously select several objects without having this garbled block pasted. So I cannot align several objects basically, as it immediately after selection pastes to new appeared garbled text block, abandoning selection that I made. Years ago I never had this issue on Macs or Windows...

4. Kerning Issues with latest update

   The last Illustrator update has caused havoc with all of my type placement for files saved under the previous version. I tried to change color modes for a project and all of my text shifted (different now between the digital and print versions). This would seem to be a bug; the kerning gets super tight and some of the empty spaces (just the space character) all but disappear, compacting words together. This is happening all files I've tested with and on a system running Windows 10 (not sure if the same issue exists on Mac environments). Is this something that's expected to be addressed soon?

6. Exported ai files cannot be saved again

   Problem Description:
   When exporting an ai file via script or action, the exported ai file cannot be [Save], [Save As], or [Save a Copy].

   • Specify ILLUSTRATOR11 or lower for compatibility and true for saveMultipleArtboards.
   • This problem does not occur when ILLUSTRATOR12 or higher is specified or saveMultipleArtboards is false.
   • The version of the original ai file is not relevant to the operation.
   • It happens in both ExtendScript and AppleScript.

   Environment:
   • macOS 10.14.6
   • Illustrator CS6(16.2.1)-2021(25.2.3)

   Steps to Reproduce:
   1. Open an appropriate ai file and execute the script in the [Code to execute] section.
   2. Open the exported ai file in Illustrator, edit it in some way, and save it.

   Actual Result:
   Illustrator will not be able to save the document and nothing will happen. The file name displayed in the window is still marked with *. When I close the document, it asks me if I want to save it, but I cannot save it.

   Expected Result:
   The document will be saved.

   Any Workarounds:
   • Save the document manually, without going through any scripts or actions.

7. Corner Rounding Errors: Rounding more than the selected corners

   1) Mac OS 10.15.6 / Adobe Illustrator 24.3

   2) Selected only the upper corners on this piece of artwork. Adding a corner round to them.

   3) I expect corner round to be applied only to the selected corners.

   4) Illustrator is changing the curve of the lower left and lower right larger exterior curves. (You can see the original artwork underneath in Cyan... only the upper 6 corners of the "w" were supposed to be effected). This is happening on many other pieces of art that I'm currently working on as well.

8. Save document popup does not correspond to the current document

   When closing a document that is not the current working document, the save dialog pops up but the only the currently active document is shown making it difficult to see which document the save dialog refers to. This is handled correctly in Photoshop but not Illustrator

   Repro:

   1. Open Illustrator

   2. Create two new documents

   3. With the type tool write on the empty artboard of the first untitled doc "Important work"

   4. Click on the document tab for the second untitled document and with the type tool write on the empty artboard "Useless garbage"

   5. While viewing the 'Useless garbage' doc, click on the close X of the other document tab.

   6. Observe the save popup asking if you want to save changes to the file and notice that the document shown behind the pop up shows 'Useless garbage'

   7. Click 'No' on the save popup

   Result: You have now lost 'Important Work'

   Repeat the same steps in photoshop and notice that when closing the background document the view changes to the relevant window allowing you to see the document that you are about to save or discard.

9. Editing a symbol doesn't stay in-place and keeps artboards visible

   1) Editing symbols in place doesn't stay "in place"
   When I double-click a symbol to edit it in place, it moves to a totally different part of the artboard. When I try to position the symbol where I want it and then exit, it moves to a new place in the artboard. When I go to edit it again, it moves yet again elsewhere. It's impossible to get it to stay anywhere consistently.

   2) Editing symbols keeps the "multi" artboard context, which makes it hard to see the symbol you're working on because it's overlaid on the gray background, randomly assigned to some place among all the various artboards being used in the document. So it may cross several artboards, no artboards, or part artboard and part no artboard. Symbols should have no artboard context at all and be displayed on an entirely white field. There is no meaning to a symbol being contained or not contained within a single artboard, to say nothing of it spanning more than one.

10. Colors Being Displayed Differently than in Color Picker

    I just decided to update to AI 2021, bad idea... I was working on a file and I realized that the color had changed from the original dark blue to a purple color. I do not know what happened, but I know it must have to do with the update because it happened right after this.

13. Colours changing in pattens/ brushes and symbols when copy and pasting within and between documents

    I am copying cads with certain fills, brushes or symbols. When pasted back into the same document or into another document the colours are changing completely.

14. Colors not displaying correctly in Illustrator 25.2.1

    Colors are displaying brighter and incorrectly in CMYK color mode. I've color calibrated my monitor; restarted my computer; uninstalled/reinstalled Illustrator and still all files pulled into Illustrator are displaying this way.

    Mac Big Sur 11.2.3 Illustrator 25.2.1

    I have had trouble with a corrupted preference file in the past, but I also tried deleting the file and reinstalling with no change. I've uploaded a screen shot of how the colors are displaying.

    角丸長方形ツールで描画後、選択ツールで高さを変更できない。
    幅の変更や回転は可能。
    プロパティから高さ（H）の入力での変更もできるが、選択ツールでのダイレクトなサイズ変更（高さ）ができない。

    選択ツールでバウンディングボックスの上辺、または下辺のハンドルをドラッグしての高さ変更の操作でよろしいでしょうか？

17. Illustrator 25.2.1 zoom doesn't work correctly after import files

    After you import any tipe of file into the program a bug occurs modifying the use of the zoom tool so is impossible make a gradual zoom because a box like a "selection box" is created that brings the zoom to a very high percentage.
    It is also no longer possible to zoom out.
    This bug ONLY occurs if you import an external file into Illustrator and it won't fix it by deleting it or restarting the program.

18. Lost stroke when copying dynamic symbol

    We use a lot of dynamic symbols in the fashion industry to make colorways and keep the link with the original sketch which is in black and white.
    In Illustrator CC 2019 (23.1.1) and CC2020 (24.3) version on Mac and Windows, I noticed several bugs with the dynamic symbols:

    When I copy a dynamic symbol (CTRL + C / CTRL+V), the outline of the copy disappears.
    When I copy a dynamic symbol (ALT + Drag & Drop), the outline of the copy disappears.
    When I copy a dynamic symbol using CTRL + C / CTRL + F, the outline of the copy is normal.
    When I copy a dynamic symbol from one Illustrator document to another, the outline of the copy disappears.
    When you copy a dynamic symbol with a pattern fill from one document to another, you loose the scale of the pattern.

    I started a discussion about this issue on the Adobe forum and the solution provided by Kurt was to enable only the Transform Object option in the flyout menu of the Transform palette. But the issue occurs if you turn on either the Transform Pattern Only or the Transform object option.

    Do you have any idea where this problem comes from?

19. Previous tool continues after selecting new tool

    Over the past few weeks I've noticed that when I switch tools sometimes the characteristics of the previous tool continue rather than it switching to the new tool (but it shows the new tool selected in the Toolbar.

    So, for example, if I'm using the Selection Tool and then click on the Direct Selection Tool it shows in the Toolbar that I have the Direct Selection Tool activated and the cursor is the Direct Selection Tool one but the tool behaves like the Selection Tool (i.e. I can't select individual points).

    Saving the file seems to fix the issue and the selected tool then behaves normally. Changing the tool from one to another doesn’t have any effect, only saving the file seems to fix the issue (temporarily).

    I have observed it most with the Selection Tool and the Direct Selection Tool (my most used tools) but I have also certainly experienced it when switching from the Rectangle Tool and Type Tool to the Direct Selection Tool (and probably other tools that I don’t remember off the top of my head.

    It has happened over multiple files over a number of weeks so doesn't seem to be an issue with a particular file.

    Another issue that may be related is from time to time when I go to drag the Proxy Preview Area in the Navigator pane I find that the magnifying glass has activated itself and it zooms in in the Navigator pane.

    Again, saving the file fixes the issue.

    I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Illustrator, restarting my computer and upgrading Big Sur from 11.4 to 11.5.1 but the issue persists.

    I’m running Illustrator 25.4.1 on Mac OS Big Sur 11.5.1.

    Over the past few weeks I've noticed that when I switch tools sometimes the characteristics of the previous tool continue rather than it switching to the new tool (but it shows the new tool selected in the Toolbar.

    So, for example, if I'm using the Selection Tool and then click on the Direct Selection Tool it shows in the Toolbar that I have the Direct Selection Tool activated and the cursor is the Direct Selection Tool one but the tool behaves like the Selection Tool (i.e. I can't select individual points).

20. Error on trying to save *.ai to older version CS4 from AI application version 25.2.2.

    I have Illustrator application version 25.2.2 (build 255) on Windows 10 Pro (64-bit) with AMD Radeon Pro WX 3100.
    When I tried to save a specific *.ai file to older version "CS4", I got the error.
    What should I do to resolve?
