1. printing

   Mac OS 10.15.6
   Illustrator 24.2.3
   I used to be able to print from Illustrator using my Epson L3150 printer.
   It no longer prints. I used Default printing preset of Illustrator, then used default copy, then used custom. I checked and unchecked settings in advanced. All with the same result.
   I tested this even on old files which I was able to print last Aug 2020. Can't print.
   I opened the illustrator file in PDF and it was able to print.

   I would appreciate it if you can help solve this bug in Illustrator.

2. Edit just the path when text is on path

   Editing the path, independently of the the text on the path is no longer possible. For the last couple decades, I could place text on a path, then I would select the direct select tool (group select via key modifier) and click just on the path to select just the path. Then, I would switch to the regular selection tool. At this point the handles for scaling an object would become visible. Then I could scale or distort the path, independently of the text. About 2 or 3 years ago, Illustrator was suddenly no longer able to do this. At this point, the only way to edit the path independently of the text is to go into the transform palette, unconstrain proportions, then type numbers, or use cursor keys to adjust the size or shape of the path. It's really, really tedious. Plus, as soon as you touch the cursor key, the text shifts to the side or bottom of a circular path and you have to slide the text back to the top. I was hoping this would get resolved on it's own at some point but it seems that it's not getting resolved.

3. Impossible to create a new swatch named 'White' or 'Black'

   In my company we can print the color White as a spot color. Our printer reacts on the name of the color "White".

   Until a while ago it was no problem to add a White color swatch to Illustrator.
   Now I get an error (see image).

   I don't know why it worked before and doesn't anymore.
   May be it's possible to make Illustrator work like Indesign and change the name of the original white-swatch to Paper?
   My problem would be solved :)

4. Illustrator ignores variable font kerning

   As described. Illustrator is not interpolating kerning data. Using a font that works well on everything but Illustrator. Left is view in Chrome, right in Illustrator.

5. illustrator very slow to export to PDF (all versions including latest)

   I recently built a new computer as my laptop was taking too long to make PDFs, the new computer should be 2-4 times quicker but actually takes longer to make the PDF from exactly the same file.

   The old computer is a 2017 MacBook Pro:
   Mojave 10.14.6
   i7 2.8ghz 4 core
   16gb 2133mhz LPDDR3 Ram
   Radeon Pro 560 4GB GDDR5 GPU
   512GB SSD

   New computer is a Windows 10 Pro (fully updated)
   Ryzen 9 3950x 16 core 3.5Ghz
   64gb 3200Mhz DDR4 Ram
   Nvidia 2080 Super 8gb GDDR6 GPU
   2tb M.2 gen4 drive

   The same file will pdf on the Mac in 1min 12 second. and 1 min 42 seconds on the PC. while writing the pdf on the PC, illustrator becomes 'not responding' and only un freezes once the pdf is written, in that time none of the resources are being used more than 10% so there is plenty of capacity for illustrator to be faster.

   The system is fully up to date and has been tested to ensure all hardware is functioning as it should, in benchmark tests the PC is 2-4 times quicker than the mac.

   I've spoken with Adobe help who have taken remote control of the PC on 3 occasions, they have tried everything but not made any difference. the last representative could only suggest that there was an efficiency problem with some of my hardware not working correctly with Illustrator, but could not say what. It has been tested on all versions of illustrator back to 2019.

   My GPU is on the list of recognised and supported devices, all drivers have been optimised for workstation/adobe use. but if there are issues that relate to hardware Adobe need to publish it so people can ensure their hardware will actually work. because currently i have a £3000 paperweight. This is a workstation computer which i earn a living from.

   All other non Adobe programs and games function as they should with no lag or delay, the issue is most defiantly software related and none of your representatives have been able to help. sort it out!

6. Close button has gap

   [windows 10] The close button on Illustrator has gap in the corner - and when your mouse goes to the corner (which it usually does when you want to close a window) - you are clicking on thee X button of the program beneath it. ...This is very furstrating and i just closed other software where i lost an hour of work. Adobe this is sloppy - Photoshop has simillar button, but the gap is closed, while for example - After effects uses the normal windows 10 border ....make this stuff the same! Such differences are acceptable from free software, but for such high priced thing like yours that's just sloppy!

8. Rotating with selection tool buggy

   When attempting to rotate a shape using the bounding box and the selection tool, in every version previous to 24.0 I just moved the cursor outside the bounding box a certain distance and the cursor would change to a bent arrow, allowing me to click and rotate. Ever since then, I've still been able to rotate the shape this way, but the cursor arrow doesn't change to the bent arrow icon until after I click, meaning I am unsure whether or not I am about to resize or rotate the shape.

9. Pasting text into existing type object creates a new object instead

   In v24.3 pasting text inside a text box fails, it creates a new text box so all styles need to be re-applied.

10. Unable to change language

    Windows 10, CC2020.

    I am unable to change the Installation language of Illustrator. No matter what I do it always installs itself as English (International). I am trying to change it to Norwegian to record a tutorial. This often happens, but with CC apps it is **** to efficiently try to change app languages. Fiddling with obscure settings files, renaming folders, reinstalling applications, or sometimes being forced to reinstall every single CC app and do a complete cleaning of the system.

    IT SHOULD BE A SIMPLE LANGUAGE DROP-DOWN IN PREFERENCES. /rant

    What I have attempted:

    1. I created a new Windows User Account.
    2. Change OS language to Norwegian. This seems to change the language of the CC desktop app.
    3. Uninstall Illustrator, and remove preferences. Verify that application folder is gone.
    4. Uninstall the CC dekstop app.
    5. Reinstall the CC dekstop app.
    6. In the CC desktop app, set the default app language to Norwegian.
    7. Reinstall Ai.

    Result: Illustrator installs with english language, not norwegian.

    I tried uninstalling the dekstop app and Ai both normally, and using the CC cleaner app.

    I notice the in the CC desktop app that the description of the app is in english, but for some other apps it's in Norwegian. There must be a hidden setting/file somewhere locking it to English. Where can I find this and delete the **** thing? I have now spent two hours trying to change my language. This should not happen.

11. CC 2020 gradient tool not updating result live, only when releasing the mouse button (like in CC 2018)

    In CC 2019, when using the gradient tool to apply or modify a gradient, the result of using the tool was live updated as you applied/moved it. Now in CC 2020, the tool has reverted back to how it was in CC 2018, meaning you have to let go of the mouse button to see the result. Seeing the result live saves time for me and makes it easier to get a satisfying result quicker.

12. AIPaintStyleSuite not found

    Trying to update a plugin to use the Illustrator 2020 SDK on Mac. Previously using the 2017 SDK. The SPBasicSuite AcquireSuite function fails to find the AIPaintStyleSuite when building with the 2020 SDK.

13. Pinch to Zoom not working

    Seems this issue has been beaten to death with no resolution...Pinch to zoom and two finger panning does not work for me. I am using a Dell XPS 15" 9570 with everything updated. Macbook does this feature flawlessly however not on windows. I know I am not the only one. PLEASE fix this issue.

14. object distortion on perspective grid after pathfinder unite

    Windows 10 home, Illustrator 2020.

    After uniting two or more rectangles on the perspective grid to make a more complex shape, moving/copying the new object using the perspective selection tool results in distortion as the object appears to have become detached from it's perspective plane. The behaviour is shown in the attached image.

    Inserting the step Object > Perspective > Attach to active directly after Unite allows the object to move correctly (thanks Monika Gause) although it was suggested that perhaps this step shouldn't be necessary and it should be able to move correctly without it.

15. Place - wedge in image appears and moving images is clunky

    When I place an image, a wedge appears, and it only goes away when I lock, and then unlock the layer. If I start moving the image around again, the wedge appears again.

16. Why can't you make snap work again?

    I work with die cuts and i need precision. Don't remember from which version but illutrator sucks at snapping now. I mean all shapes i make get 20.001 or 19.999 and try using compound, it doesn't work! You can't draw with precision anymore.

17. Can't Add Artboards in Increments of 10 by Using Shift

    Used to be able in the new document window add 10 artboards by shift+clicking the buttons to the side. Now whenever I do it, it's just one at a time. Would be nice to have that back.

    Doesn’t seem to happen anymore in the latest builds of Illustrator, in both legacy and modern versions of File New dialog.

18. 'Turn off Data Recovery for complex documents' should be on by default

    The data recovery setting for complex documents should be on by default. Secondary to this, why aren't my illustrator settings saved in the Creative Cloud in the creative cloud service we pay so much for? I've had a situation we're I've upgraded to a new illustrator version through CC then started to work not realising this feature is now off!!! I've done a whole lot of work in a large file and not only did it not recover the document after a crash the program reverted the document to a state 2 days prior! The file even says I saved it at close of business and yet here I am with a version of the file from the day I created it. Get your act together Adobe... I have stuck with you for years but I'm getting to the point where I'm starting to consider the competition.

    You should rename the setting to "Turn off Data Recovery for documents you've worked a lot on" because this is basically what this "feature" does.

    i have been unable to save my files properly since yesterday when i worked on a project thats has images, first i got a messages on illustrator that auto save wont work because the file im working on is large then when i tried to export my project for screen, instead of saving just as png, it saved as png.tmp$$ and just add to rename before i can get my file and also when i saved my files it keep saving as a temp file since then, have to rename the files saved and include .ai to get the file, really stressful, i reset my preference and closed my illustrator for long time, open it later and created a new file and saved and still got a temp file saved. you can check the attached files to see how the files where saved. need a quick fix, thank you
