1. Illustrator doesn't find color profile, which are shown in Indesign

   Hi everybody,

   I installed an eci color profile (pso-coated_v3) on my windows 10 computer (right-mouse-click, then install). In Photoshop CC and Indesign CC everything is fine, so it is installed correctly. But the new profile isn't shown in Illustrator CC.

   I reopened Illustrator and also de- and reinstalled it...

   Does anybody has got an idea, why the new profile doesn't show in in the color-settings of Illustrator?

   An installed color profile can be accessed and used like this:

   Edit > Color Settings: Working Spaces, CMYK: choose the profile you need.

   Then go to Edit > Assign Profile and set it.

2. Can't create new artwork

   new button and menu item just start dialog box so can't create any new artwork from scatch

3. Application crash when copy/pasting SVG paths

   I have several logos that were created in Inkscape and saved in SVG format that I now need to edit in Illustrator. However even after re-saving them as AI files, any attempt to copy/paste any part of the SVG paths from the logo results in an immediate application crash.

   Adobe Illustrator CC (latest) Windows 10 64bit

   Steps:
   1. Open the attached AI file (which was converted from SVG by opening then saving in Illustrator).
   2. Select any part of the logo.
   3. Copy using Edit -> Copy or CTRL+C
   4. Paste using Edit -> Paste or CTRL+V
   5. The application will crash immediately or very shortly afterwards.

4. Appearance pallet, 2 top stacks always expand, after use Type Tool

   Illustrator 22.0.0 72@102345, Illustrator 21.1.0 and all previous CC versions

   Steps:
   1. Open Illustrator, new document
   2. Open Appearance Palette (Shift+F6)
   3. Collapse all stacks in Appearance Palette (if they expanded)
   4. Choose Type Tool
   5. Use Type Tool in any place of document
   6. ESC and Click any place of document

   Expected result:
   Appearance Palette Stacks remain minimized (folded)

   Actual result:
   2 top Appearance Palette Stacks are expand (unfolded)

5. Panning at high zoom levels appears blurry

   The issue that previously occurred and was resolved has reappeared in the latest version. I have attached the previous link and details. I kindly request a prompt resolution.

   The more you zoom in, the more severe the symptoms are.
   There wasn't until the last version of 2023, but it came up at some point.
   Due to the nature of the work, there are many cases where the work is small, so it is enlarged and modified.

   Below are the things I've done before.
   Attached is the video as well.

   <Things I've tried>
   - Upgrade computer RAM, cpu, graphics card
   - Check on 3 computers
   - Initialization
   - Initialize configuration settings
   - rename and reset folders in %appdata%
   - Check after installing an earlier version of illustration
   - Check after installing the latest illustration version
   - Upgrade/downgrade graphics card drivers to the latest
   - Turn off gpu acceleration (not a fundamental solution)
   - Check Windows Update
   - Update/Remove and reinstall the Wacom driver
   - Check by file capacity (at least one letter appears in the blank document. No matter file size.)
   - Pixel Preview settings has always been unchecked
   - The file path is local, not server.

   I upgraded my graphics card to the latest to take advantage of gpu.

6. Transparency Lost in After Effects When Importing v30 AI Files

   Transparency Information Lost When Importing Illustrator v30 AI Files into After Effects 2026

   Environment:
   - Hardware: MacBook Pro 16-inch (November 2023), Apple M3 Pro, 36GB RAM
   - OS: macOS Sequoia 15.7.4
   - Illustrator version with issue: v30.2.1 (2026)
   - Illustrator version without issue: v28.7.10 (2024)
   - After Effects version: 2026

   When an .ai file saved in Illustrator 2026 (v30) is imported as footage into After Effects 2026, transparency information — including blend modes, opacity settings, and effects such as drop shadows — is lost or ignored. Affected layers render as fully opaque.

   Re-saving the identical artwork in Illustrator 2024 (v28.7.10) and importing that file into the same After Effects project resolves the issue completely.

   This suggests that a change in the .ai file format or internal data structure introduced in v30 is no longer being parsed correctly by After Effects' AI importer.

   Saving from v28.7.10 is a confirmed workaround, but this should not be necessary.

   Is there a known fix? Is this a confirmed bug?

7. PDF/X-4 Export Produces Non-Compliant PDFs in Illustrator v30.2.1

   In v28, when exporting PDF/X-4 via an Action or script, inserting a "Convert to Working CMYK" step into the workflow allowed consistent production of PDF/X-4 compliant files with no preflight errors.

   In v30, following the exact same workflow with identical files and the same preset now produces non-compliant PDFs. Acrobat preflight reports two distinct errors that did not occur in v28.

   Preflight Error #1 — Placed image ICC profile conflict:
   "CMYK source profile is the same as the PDF/X output intent destination profile (201 occurrences, 2 pages)"

   Cause: Placed PSD files have Japan Color 2001 Coated embedded as an ICC profile. Since the output intent is also Japan Color 2001 Coated, v30 appears to write both into the PDF in a way that triggers a conflict. This did not occur in v28 with identical source files.

   Preflight Error #2 — Transparency blend color space conflict:
   "Transparency blend color space is the same as the output intent destination profile (13,681 occurrences, 2 pages)"

   Cause: v30 appears to embed the document's transparency blend space (Japan Color 2001 Coated, derived from the working CMYK setting) in a way that conflicts with the output intent. This also did not occur in v28.

   PDF Preset Settings (X4_Johnset):
   - Standard: PDF/X-4:2010
   - Compatibility: Acrobat 7 (PDF 1.6)
   - Color Conversion: No Conversion
   - Output Intent Profile: Working CMYK — Japan Color 2001 Coated
   - Profile Inclusion Policy: Include All RGB & Tagged Source CMYK Profiles

   Both errors are absent when exporting the same file with the same preset from v28.7.10. This appears to be a regression introduced in v30.

   Is there a known workaround? Is this a confirmed bug?

9. Windows Explorer freezes when Saving As PDF

   • Fresh install of Windows 10 Pro. Fully up-to date (as of Feb. 27, 2026). DXdiag attached.
   • Illustrator 30.2.1 (64-bit) ** Only Illustrator and Photoshop installed (via Creative Cloud application)

   1. Open AI file
   2. Save as.. PDF
   3. Choose a PDF option, click Save
   4. Click Windows Start Menu icon (or any other icon on the task bar) - Windows task bar (explorer.exe) will be unresponsive
   5. To remedy, Ctrl-Alt-Del and open Task Manager -> Right-click Windows Explorer -> Restart

   I literally have to do this every time I start Illustrator. It then seemingly stay stable for awhile, but then will randomly lock up Windows Explorer again after working for awhile. It seems to most often happen when using the Type tool, and clicking on other parts of the Workspace.

   This is infuriating, and has caused me to entirely reinstall the Operating System to try to find a remedy. Nothing has worked.

10. Scroll wheel crash

    Logitech MX Master 2S mouse scroll wheel has stopped functioning in latest versions of AI. Currently hanging and crashing.
    Latest Windows, Latest AI. Latest nvidia driver.
    Asuswrx90, AMD7965, 256 QVL RAM, 5090Founders, Samsung 9100 m2 OS/CACHE/Storage drives
    Expected: smooth scroll
    Actual: App hangs for 2 seconds.
    GPU accelleration settings on or off make no difference.
    I suspect it is a logitech driver issue but a basic bit of mouse functionality in very very common hardware should not be happening.

11. Free Transform resets frame after each use

    If it was the only problem... Have you ever tried to "free transform" an object like you can do it with Photoshop in a breeze ? Free Transform tool (Free Distort) resets the handles to the rectangular bounding box after each handle drag! Super convenient to adjust a deformation! But did Adobe internally have the distortion tools proposed in Illustrator tested? there are 3 or 4 but all are tedious to use and very incomplete. Please, Adobe, put all this in the trash and replace these useless things with a single tool effective and intuitive... exactly like the "free transform" of Photoshop! Speak to real graphic designers and they will show you how to make real tool!

    Illustrator today properly keep the Free Transform frame deformed after each use, until you destroy the group it creates.

    If you still have problems with the way it works — please comment back.

12. Offset Path creates notches

    Certain paths with certain Offset Path values create these.
    Usually it’s a rather small value, but this sometimes happens with larger ones.

    There are other related problems with Offset Path:

13. Changing the Japanese font in the Type tool does not update it.

    Changing the Japanese font in the Type tool does not update it.
    This occurs even when "Enable missing glyph protection" is initially set to OFF and no other settings are changed.

    This does not occur in macOS Vetura13.7.8

14. Vorschaubilder verschwinden im Bridge

    Hallo, ich habe folgendes Problem mit Illustrator (30.2.1) und Bridge (16.02.23) auf einem Windows Rechner mit 64GB Ram, Windows 11 Pro und eine RTX 3060 Ti.

    Wenn ich momentan im Illustrator eine Datei speichere zweig mir Bridge diese Datei nicht mehr korrekt an.

    Beispiel:
    - Normal war die Anzeige in Bridge wie Bild01.jpg
    - die geöffnete Datei im Illustrator wo alles stimmt ist wie Bild02.jpg, alle Verknüpfungen sind intakt
    - ändere ich in der Datei nur das Darum und speichere, ist nun die Anzeige im Bridge wie im Bild03.jpg daher zusammen wie Bild04.jpg

    Öffne ich die Datei im Illustrator ist alles ohne Fehler vorhanden.
    Verknüpfe ich das Bild über das Menü neu und speichere es dann wieder, stimmt die Vorschau im Bridge wieder wie bei Bild01.jpg.

    Schließe ich dann die Datei stimmt die Vorschau im Bridge, wenn ich sie dann wieder öffne stimmt alles.
    Nehme ich irgendeine Änderung vor, Bsp. Text anpassen oder Ebene einmal aus und einblenden und speichere dann wieder normal, ist die Vorschau in Bridge wieder wie bei Bild04.jpg, also defekt.

    Ich muss also in so einem Fall bei Änderungen aktuell vor dem Speichern immer alle Verknüpfungen aktualisieren und dann speichern damit ich im Brigde die richtige Vorschau habe. Hier ist es auch egal ob es eine Verknüpfung mit einem JPG oder PSD ist.

15. Images Missing After Reopening Adobe Illustrator File

    Hello Adobe Illustrator Community,

    I would like to report an issue we have been experiencing with Adobe Illustrator that has caused serious problems in our production workflow.

    Issue Description:
    Images that were properly embedded in Adobe Illustrator files go missing after the files are closed and reopened. The images are not corrupt, and their resolution is below 500 PPI. However, upon reopening the AI file, some embedded images disappear completely.

    This issue does not occur in all Illustrator files; it happens randomly across different files, making it difficult to predict or prevent.

    Impact:
    This problem has caused losses for our prepress team, as some images went missing without being noticed, while the printed products had already been produced.

    I would like to report an issue we have been experiencing with Adobe Illustrator that has caused serious problems in our production workflow.

    Issue Description:
    Images that were properly embedded in Adobe Illustrator files go missing after the files are closed and reopened. The images are not corrupt, and their resolution is below 500 PPI. However, upon reopening the AI file, some embedded images disappear completely.

    We are experiencing a display issue when opening RGB graphic files. The content appears corrupted on screen, showing scattered or smeared pixel artifacts.

    In some cases, the issue is reduced or temporarily disappears when zooming in/out or scrolling the canvas. However, the problem is purely visual and does not affect the actual file data.

    When the file is saved or printed, the output is correct and shows no abnormalities.

17. Artwork was deleted after switching between files.

    AI 30.1 MacOS

    All my artwork was deleted when I switched back from another file that I copied art from, including guides. Tried Undo multiple times with no luck. Had not saved file.

18. UI freezes when clicking Save file with multiple artworks, no recovery files, version 30.0 on Tahoe 26.1

    This new 30.0 update is terrible, my team has lost countless hours!
    As soon as you click save, the UI freezes, and doesn't allow you to save.
    After clicking the task manager in order to restart the app, the file doesn't show up in the recovered files. NOTHING!
    It is the worse version of Illustrator EVER. I was contemplating going back to the LTS version, but we have already done too much work in this newer version, and are certain that when we open those files, in the OLDER (But better) version, there will be issues, we saw it already in a few files, where the file is flat and not editable.. What can we do?

19. Pasted symbol into new doc and that new symbol layer appearance overrode everything

    Very unexpected /confusing issue with Illustrator today.

    I cut and pasted a symbol from one document into a new doc. I tried to apply a new color to the symbol and it wouldn't work.

    The appearance panel showed the objects as black, the objects on the pasteboard were brown, and when I selected them, the fill color in the toolbar showed yellow.

    I broke the link to the symbol and tried to apply that yellow color to the compound path—it wouldn't work.

    I released the compound path and tried to apply yellow to the individual objects—it still wouldn't work.

    Rebooted Illustrator. Didn't help.
    Rebooted computer. Didn't help.

    Restarted Illustrator, went into the original symbol, and went into the symbol, cut and pasted the paths into the new doc—still wouldn't work.

    THEN... I noticed I was pasting the paths onto an empty layer named new symbol 2, so I pasted the paths onto a new layer and the colors were correct!

    SO DEVS, I don't think this is a logical workflow. There is no indication on the appearance panel that a color was applied to a layer, so it's near impossible to tell what's going on.

20. Linked transparency ignored in document color mode CMYK

    I've noticed that, at least as of Illustrator version 30.1, transparency in linked files is ignored while the document color mode is CMYK and the View Preview mode is GPU. It does not seem to matter if the original is in CMYK mode or not.

    To reproduce the issue, create two Illustrator documents. In the first, draw a few objects on the artboard, setting the transparency for a few of them to anything noticeably different, and save it as Test1.ai. On the second document, set the document color mode to RGB, set the View Preview mode to GPU, and place a linked file of Test1.ai. It should look normal, as designed. Now, change the document color mode to CMYK and notice how any transparency becomes ignored. However, the second document will export or print the design correctly. You just cannot Preview it correctly using the GPU.

    I tried to post the Illustrator files to test with. But, UserVoice crashes whenever I try it.
