1. Why are Tools on Toolbar are present, but will not activate when selected?

   The selection tool is the only active tool. When any other drawing tool has been selected it will not activate, pen tool, rectangle tool etc. I have Reset Essentials and tried multiple options suggested on forums and videos. Closed and reopened program reset to other "Workspaces" and nothing has reactivated the tools. Everything worked yesterday. The tools are not hidden. They simply will not activate when selected.

2. Unable to paste into specific sublayer (Paste Remember Layers is unchecked)

   I am unable to paste copied items into a selected sublayer - they are instead pasting into the main layer.

3. Illustrator 24.1 metric precision broken

   So there was a new release Illustrator 24.1 the other day which I installed. Unfortunately, it looks like the engineers messed up and semi-broke the conversion routines from inches or whatever measurement is used internally to the metric units displayed to me as the user.

   What used to be displayed as nice whole numbers or up to a maximum of three decimals, is now never an even number and always displayed with four decimals. Just to take an example, a dimension clearly intended to be precisely 10 mm is now displayed as say 9.9998 mm or 10.0003 mm.

   This is incredibly annoying for me and anyone else who usually works by numerically setting exact dimensions and coordinates. This also seem to affect other parts of the software like the PathFinder and join command. Objects where the coordinates should match now doesn't, generating several unnecessary anchor points or paths in the process.

   Please fix ASAP!

   I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 24.2.0 which is available worldwide now.

   Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

4. New user tutorial feedback

   TLDR: This is feedback on the Illustrator tutorials and what the experience was like for a new user. I think a better experience for me would have be to only do one tutorial at a time.

   Hi there! I am a new user going through the tutorials after just downloading the Illustrator application for the first time. From the initial tutorials page on the web here (https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/how-to/ai-basics-fundamentals.html?playlist=/services/playlist.helpx/products:SG_ILLUSTRATOR_1_1/learn-path:get-started/set-header:ccx-designer/playlist:ccl-get-started-1/en_us.json&ref=helpx.adobe.com), in the first video, we're suggested to download the example projects files to follow along to. When I downloaded the files and opened up the Illustrator app for the first time, the Illustrator desktop app then also starts suggesting another tutorial to follow along to (different from the web tutorial - see screenshot). This tutorial inception is sort of an awkward user experience because I wanted to finish the initial tutorial from the web, but then also was interested in the new tutorial the adobe desktop app was suggesting. I think a better experience would be to only do one tutorial at a time. In case this feedback is helpful to anyone, I wanted to just throw it out there.

5. 新規ファイル作成時、印刷に選択できる単位が少ない

   illustratorのバージョン：25.2.3(64bit)
   問い合わせの内容：
   ファイルを新規作成時、「プリセットの詳細」のドロップダウンリストに表示される単位が少ない。
   他の使用者のPCにインストールされているillustratorには、「cm」等があるのですが、私個人のPCにインストールしているものでは、添付資料の通り「cm」等がありません。これはバグなのでしょうか。

6. Drop Shadow, Outer Glow, Etc. renders incorrectly on large polygons angled lines only

   When I make a drop shadow, outer glow etc. there are places on the shadow that end abruptly in intervals. I make a triangle or any polygon (even a rectangle that is rotated). Go to Effect > Illustrator Effect > Stylize > Drop Shadow. Multiply: 75%:0":0":0.5". Color Black. I've tried other colors and other settings for Blur and Mode. This does the exact same thing using Outer Glow. I have a 66" x 36" artboard on the examples below.

7. Preparing for Save takes longer than actually saving

   I have noticed that now illustrator does a "preparing to save" function with a dialogue box and progress bar before saving in the background. The issue I am experiencing with this is that the "preparing to save" step takes significantly longer than I ever remember a simple save taking. As such my routine save reflex is causing a significant disruption to my workflow. The time this "preparing to save" dialogue takes is far too long and incredibly inconvenient. I have also uploaded the file I am working on so you can see if it is remarkably large or complicated, I don't think it is. Also, image uploaded with my system specs on there. I updated to the latest version of Illustrator to see if this would fix the issue before posting.

8. Offset Path value in Large canvas becomes smaller ten times when the effect is used again

   When using a large canvas and doing an Offset path, if I offset a path by say 5mm, the next time I use the tool only 0.5mm shows in the dialog box. Not a big issue, but an error nonetheless.

9. Ungrouping outlines of text turns white

   I've been experiencing an issue that whenever I convert a text to outlines and ungroup them, they all turn white and I have to recolor them.

10. Shape Builder ignores lines when they don’t cross a shape

    Shape builder, despite the rounding bug that is embedded in its core (https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-bugs/suggestions/37424191-expanding-a-live-paint-object-changes-dimensions#comments) is still a very useful tool many users are very fond of.
    Specifically, it can be used to bring pathfinder options to open paths — you can delete parts of lines that are covered with another shape, effectively subtracting segments from them (rather than closed shapes), by Alt+dragging over this shape (see the GIF attached).
    But this nice trick won’t do the job if lines don’t cross the entire shape. That is when a line ends inside of a shape, the tool doesn’t trim it.

    I tried to find a reason why, and could not.
    So please fix it, along with the rounding bug above.

    And I can’t but mention that there’s a brilliant script that uses the LivePaint tech to give us the ability to subtract/intersect shapes from/with lines without manual efforts like these, something that the Pathfinder should be able to do from the box (and we have a request for this too: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-feature-requests/suggestions/34003474-pathfinder-to-work-with-open-paths) — the script is called SplitPath, by Sergey Osokin, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_vUUFkTwxk

11. Textwerkzeug / Big Sur / Illustrator 2021

    Bei aktivem Textwerkzeug funktioniert das Zoomwerkzeug nicht. Beispiel:
    Sie schreiben Text und möchten das Dokument verkleinern/vergrößern. Sie gehen auf das Lupenwerkzeug und es funktioniert nicht. Erst wenn Sie auf ein Pfeilwerkzeug wechseln funktioniert die Lupe wieder.
    Das war bisher immer direkt aus dem Text möglich und es wäre schön, wenn das noch geregelt wird.

12. Can't place tiff file into Illustrator as a linked file

    In previous versions I could import tiff as linked files, now, when I try to do so, it shows the attached image.

    I have to open the tiff on illustrator and then copy and paste the content into my file, but is an embedded file, I want it as a link...

14. Fichier > Nouveau document ne fonctionne pas

    Quand je clique sur Fichier > Nouveau document, Illustrator ne réponds pas. Je suis obligée de cliquer sur Echap pour pourvoir continuer de travailler.
    Même problème sur le panneau d'accueil d'Illustrator, quand je clique sur Fichier > Nouveau, il se bloque.
    Je suis sur la version 25.1 d'Illustrator / Windows 10 Professionnel
    J'ai désinstallé et réinstallé le logiciel, le problème persiste.

16. Bug avec les pathfinders - Illustrator 2021

    Un contour mystérieux apparapit quand je met une transparence à une forme créée par pathfinder... les pointes de ma forme débordent du path, et il y a un contour irrégulier à l'intérieur de tout le path... pourtant, aucun contour n'est appliqué... j'ai tenté de créer ma forme de différentes façons... divide, minus front, une forme à la fois, expand, «unite» de toutes les formes avant de crever le rectangle, Shape builder tool, nouveau document, restart! Toujours le même problème! J'utilise Illustrator 2021 (v. 25.2), sur Mojave 10.14.6.

18. artboards 1600% - 1700% zoom display error

    Dear Adobe, this an annoying feature or bug, which is always pursue me.

    When I select an artboard with double click, which contains an icon (64x64px), always give me a visual error.

    First time automatic switch to 1700% zoom, and mess up the pixels, looks like slips over the grid, arround 0.5 px.

    If I click on it one more, or zoom in and out, the pixels are jump to the right place.

    This is all time made me crazy because all of my icon need to be pixelperfect, always when I try to rename an icon, go to this zoom level and the pixels shown bad, and I need to check is.. .there thousands of icon in my work and, this erro stole my work time... If I say anything about this error to my boss, they will not pay the next year license for this program, is it interesting to you, or not?

    Should you fix this problem???
    I tried to communicate this problem more time, but no answer?

20. Layers gone

    When I opened the Illustrator file in latest version, all my layers were gone and a bunch of clipping paths created. Also the selection tool has a weird symbol like a cross-hatch and no longer selects objects.
    Illustrator has broken my file.
