Keyboard doesn't register a shortcut
In Adobe InDesign and Photoshop you can assign any key on an international keyboards to any function.
Illustrator do not recognize international keyboards. You may register but it won’t work.
What a shame since it's the oldest app in the family.2 votes -
Exporting SVG 1.2 Tiny gives a metadata / namespaces error
I use Illustrator CC 2017 21.1.0.
When exporting an Illustrator document to SVG 1.2 tiny and open in Dreamweaver CC2017 or another editor I receive an error on the Illustrator metadata / namespaces like:

GPU Performance stops working when enabled
Illustrator 21.1.0 (64-bit)
GPU Performance shuts off whenever I open a file. I have to close the file, turn off GPU Performance (yes, turn it OFF in preferences), then turn it ON again, then reopen my file to get it working again. I've been complaining about this for months, and Adobe has ignored my complaints. All updates including drivers have been installed and I've completely removed and reinstalled Illustrator.

User guide correction
Customer support asked that I make this post via their twitter account. I found that the content in the user guide identifying the various symbols and marks of the swatch panel is not accurately labeled. E and F are wrong. They should say LAB and RGB but they instead are calling the icons CMYK AND RGB. Could be highly confusing those just learning the software. Thanks!!

Illustrator doesn't find color profile, which are shown in Indesign
Hi everybody,
I installed an eci color profile (pso-coated_v3) on my windows 10 computer (right-mouse-click, then install). In Photoshop CC and Indesign CC everything is fine, so it is installed correctly. But the new profile isn't shown in Illustrator CC.
I reopened Illustrator and also de- and reinstalled it...
Does anybody has got an idea, why the new profile doesn't show in in the color-settings of Illustrator?

Rene2 votesAn installed color profile can be accessed and used like this:
Edit > Color Settings: Working Spaces, CMYK: choose the profile you need.
Then go to Edit > Assign Profile and set it.

new button and menu item just start dialog box so can't create any new artwork from scatch

Application crash when copy/pasting SVG paths
I have several logos that were created in Inkscape and saved in SVG format that I now need to edit in Illustrator. However even after re-saving them as AI files, any attempt to copy/paste any part of the SVG paths from the logo results in an immediate application crash.
Adobe Illustrator CC (latest) Windows 10 64bit
Steps:
1. Open the attached AI file (which was converted from SVG by opening then saving in Illustrator).
2. Select any part of the logo.
3. Copy using Edit -> Copy or CTRL+C
4. Paste using Edit -> Paste or CTRL+V

Appearance pallet, 2 top stacks always expand, after use Type Tool
Illustrator 22.0.0 72@102345, Illustrator 21.1.0 and all previous CC versions
Steps:
1. Open Illustrator, new document
2. Open Appearance Palette (Shift+F6)
3. Collapse all stacks in Appearance Palette (if they expanded)
4. Choose Type Tool
5. Use Type Tool in any place of document

Persistent Wacom driver warning in Illustrator on macOS Tahoe
I am experiencing a persistent Wacom driver warning in Illustrator 2026 that appears despite my Wacom tablet working correctly.
System:
MacBook Pro M4 Pro

Wacom Intuos Pro S (PTH-451)
Wacom driver 6.4.9-2When launching, Illustrator constantly displays:

Illustrator 29.6.1 (Windows) crashes ~30 s after launch since Aug 17 — unhandled C++ exception (std::bad_function_call) in dunamis-ingest.dl
Environment
- Illustrator 29.6.1 (x64), Windows Server (EC2), 11 machines in a print-automation pipeline
- Illustrator is driven via COM/ExtendScript (headless typesetting), hundreds of short sessions per day
- No local changes on any machine: last Windows update Dec 2025, no reboots since Jun 25, no font/plugin/preference changes, Illustrator binary unchanged since Jul 2025Symptoms
- Starting the evening of Aug 17, 2026 (KST), Illustrator began crashing on all machines simultaneously. Daily crash counts across the fleet: ~0–5 (baseline) → 34 (Aug 17) → 90 (Aug 18) → 366 in half a day (Aug 19).

Illustrator cannot recognize my Creative Cloud account without internet, hours of work lost!!!!
Illustrator has no internet connection and then closes all my files without giving me the option to save. I have a company Adobe Creative Cloud account, but when the internet connection goes down, Illustrator seems unable to recognize or verify that I have an active Creative Cloud account. Instead, it closes Illustrator and all my open files without giving me any option to save my work.
This is extremely frustrating and unacceptable. I had been working for several hours, and I lost all of that work because Illustrator could not verify my account while offline.

Libraries show a generic font in thumbnails instead of actual ones
My libraries now all update to having this generic font when I upload designs with text. And online, all my previously saved designs now all have the same font rather than the fonts they were previously. When I drag them back onto an artboard, they convert back into the previous font, so it's something to do with the libraries preview, I believe.

Glyphs panel behaves differently for COLRv0/1 spec color fonts
Illustrator has been supporting COLRv0/v1-spec color fonts since early last year, which has been great to use, but lately I have been wondering if one feature of the Glyphs Panel is more a bug than intended.
When using a static COLRv0-built font, the Glyphs Panel is filled with separate "layered" characters of each glyph in black/white. With a high amount of characters this leads to an extremely cluttered panel.

リンク切れしたEPSを「ファイルを開く際に置き換え」すると、保存後の再オープンで画像が一枚画像化される
発生環境
OS：macOS
Illustrator：30.6
ファイル形式：AI
リンク画像：EPS
症状
Illustratorファイルを開く際、リンクしていたEPS画像が見つからない場合に表示される「リンクされたファイルが見つかりません」等のダイアログで、「置き換え」から別のEPS画像を指定すると、その場では正常に編集できます。
そのままAIファイルを保存してIllustratorを終了し、同じファイルを再度開くと、画像が正常なリンク画像として扱われず、ファイル全体が一枚の画像のような状態になってしまいます。
最初に開いたときは、Illustratorの通常の編集機能が使用でき、保存も正常に完了するため、保存直後には異常が分かりません。再度ファイルを開いたときに初めて問題が確認できます。
再現手順
AIファイルにEPS画像をリンク配置する。
AIファイルを保存する。
リンクしているEPSファイルを移動または名前変更し、リンク切れの状態にする。
IllustratorでAIファイルを開く。
リンク切れのEPSについて表示される「置き換え」で、新しいEPS画像を指定する。
Illustrator上では正常に表示され、通常どおり編集できることを確認する。
AIファイルを保存する。
Illustratorを終了する。
同じAIファイルを再度開く。
画像が一枚画像化されたような状態になり、正常なIllustratorデータとして扱えなくなる。
正常に動作するケース
以下の場合には、この問題は発生しません。
Illustratorを開く際に「置き換え」を選択せず、「無視」してファイルを開く。
ファイルを開いた後、リンクパネルからEPSを置き換える。
元のEPSをそのままリンクした状態で保存・再オープンする。
EPSを削除し、新しい画像を「新規配置」する。
EPSをTIFFに変換してリンク配置する。
PSD画像を、ファイルを開く際の「置き換え」で指定する。
新規作成したAIファイルに画像・背景・文字を配置し、EPS 1個を開く際に置き換える。
複数のEPSで再現
特定のEPSファイルだけの問題ではありません。
複数の異なるEPSファイルについて同じ操作を行うと、同様の問題が発生しました。
また、複数の画像を配置したAIファイルでは、複数のEPSを開く際に「置き換え」で指定した場合にも問題が発生しました。
一方で、新規作成した単純なAIファイルにEPSを1個だけ配置した場合には再現しないケースもありました。
別のIllustrator環境でも再現
この問題が使用しているMac固有の問題ではないことを確認するため、別の環境でも検証しました。
別のユーザーの環境：
Illustrator 30.2.1
同じように、AIファイルを開く際にリンク切れしたEPSを「置き換え」で指定すると、保存時に
「保存を試みましたが失敗しました」
というエラーが表示され、保存できませんでした。
さらに、別のEPSファイルでも同様の保存エラーが発生しました。
また、以前使用していたIllustrator 2025でも、同様の操作で「保存を試みましたが失敗しました」というエラーが発生していました。
重要な点
以上の検証から、以下の可能性は低いと考えています。
特定のEPSファイルの破損
特定のAIファイルだけの破損
古いバージョンで作成された台紙だけの問題
使用しているMac固有の問題
特に、異なるEPSファイル、異なるAIファイル、異なるIllustratorバージョン、別のMac環境でも同様の現象が確認されています。
現時点では、
「リンク切れしたEPSを、AIファイルを開く際のダイアログから『置き換え』で再リンクする処理」に関連したIllustratorの不具合
ではないかと考えています。
なお、ファイルを開いた後にリンクパネルから同じEPSを置き換える方法では正常に動作します。

Illustrator doesn’t always show Cancel button in progress dialogs for some effects, possibly Windows only
I use effects a lot, and sometimes while experimenting with appearance I get quite heavy calculations triggered (on accident or intentionally). And surely sometimes i want to cancel the execution... but these often miss it (at least on Windows).
The developer of the plugin says:
Illustrator is responsible for creating and updating the progress dialogue -- a plugin simply indicates that it wants one.

Extension windows are frozen when app is closed (not quit) and reopened.
I create Illustrator extensions for our internal users and one of the users reported an issue with the extensions being frozen.
I looked into the issue and determined its an issue that effects all Illustrator extensions and out of my control. When a user has an extension loaded and closes the window but leaves the app running with no windows open, when they go open another file the extensions are reloaded but are frozen.Reproduction Steps:
1. Open Illustrator
2. Window >> Extensions >> Select an extension
3. Perform an action in the extension (example: scrolling)

タブレットドライバとの相性
Windows 11、Intuos Pro PTK-470、最新ドライバーを使用しています。Illustrator 30.6ではダイヤルの「ホイール」「ホイール(水平)」がキャンバス上で動作しませんが、29.8.9では正常に動作します。ChromeやIllustratorのパネルでは30.6でも正常です。キャンバスのみ再現します。

Unknown error NOKY is shown when resizing objects
I have View Bounding Box checked to be on, but still get this same error when trying to resize anything: "The operation cannot be completed because of an unknown error (NOKY)." I have also trashed Illustrator Cache and Application Support files in the Library. It created new ones but the problem persists.

Disabled Corner Widget still flashes when I click any of the bounding box’s controls
I don’t use Corner Widget (I have superior tools for corners) and thus have it disabled in the View menu.
However, each time I click (but not drag) side or corner markers of the bounding box, these pesky circles in sharp corners flash at me — like the GIF shows....why do I click it like this in the first place? I love clicking, I think.
