GPU Preview not available (grayed out) after editing artboard
With newest version of illustrator the GPU acceleration and GPU-Preview fails in some files. To test it i have created a blank document and the GPU preview works. But when I edit the artboard, the GPU preview is turned off at that moment and cannot be reactivated. Reset the Illustrator-Settings to default doesn't fix it.
Illustrator 25.2, MacPro2013, GPU AMD FirePro D700, Monitor 2560x1600Pixel, Wacom-Tablet, MacOs Catalina and Mojave testet.

"View using GPU" greyed out since Illustrator 2021
Since we have updated to Illustrator 2021, on one of our machines (Mac mini 2018) "View unsing GPU" (CMD+E) is greyed out and can’t be activated. GPU IS activated in the Illustrator Preferences! Using Illustrator 2020, this function works as usual.
An other glitch, that we noticed on both of our machines (the 2018 mini and a 2019 iMac): When opening a document in Illustrator 2021, the window turns black for a moment until the document is shown. This does not really cause any problems, it is just strange and does not occure with Illustrator 2020.

New update v25.1 is extremely buggy
With this new update I get the 'spinning beachball' constantly while trying to zoom in or out of the artboard.
Also - I have multiple objects with clipping masksI'm seeing unprecidented levels of glitches and visual artifacts all over the place that appear/disappear/reappear when zooming in and out. It's nearly unusable in this state!6 votes -
Recovery Files Missing, Autorecovery enabled
I had auto-recovery on before Illustrator crashed however when I restarted the program I received a prompt that said auto-recovery is now disabled. I tried to manually recover the files from the data recovery folder but there are no files in the folder even though it say the most recent update was when I last opened the missing files.

Text cursor/text selection is invisible when inside group, and getting text cursor is jittery at best.
The text cursor and text highlight selection don't appear when inside grouped text. Also getting the text cursor vs the selection cursor is very jittery. I'm running ai 25.0.1 on a 2017, 5K iMac, os Big Sur 11.1. I've attached videos of the poor functionality.

Accessible title is ignored when opening or exporting an SVG
When an SVG document with a <title> element is opened, the title appears to be silently dropped. I don't see it in the Document Title of the File Properties nor in any layer. Moreover, when a Document Title is provided in the File Properties no <title> element is created in the SVG export. This is a significant barrier to creating accessible content for a file type that is becoming ubiquitous on the web. Yes, a title can be entered separately in a text editor after export, but such a requirement unnecessarily adds significant fragility to the process of creating/editing accessible content.

Illustrator 2021 Won't Load - I have already contacted Customer Care. They were not able to help.
Please help. There are a number of users experiencing this major bug. Please read: https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator/help-illustrator-2021-won-t-load/td-p/11530119?page=6
I think Adobe needs to realize that it has been isolated to Illustrator v25.0 only. Like everyone else, the latest releases of Photoshop v22.0.1, InDesign v16.0, and Bridge v11.0 all work just fine. Moving down to Illustrator v24.3 seemed to help get everyone back to work. However, since this is a newer version, there is a question on the projects that we have been working on with v25.0 will open up without any hiccups with v24.3. I am testing that right now as I have an iMac running Big Sur with Illustrator v24.3 and have a Macbook Pro running Catalina with Illustrator v25.0. So far I don't have any problems running v25.0 on the Macbook Pro under Catalina. In addition, I am running Extensis Suitcase Fusion v21.2.1 on both machines under both operating systems. I have been in contact with them as they are hoping to release a version that is supported on Big Sur. But when Illustrator v25.0 on Big Sur just bombed on its own, just like everyone else here (about the same time) I was able to somehow get it to load up into Safe Mode (don't ask me how I did it because like everyone else, I have seen Illustrator just sit there on the load screen regardless of it trying to initialize or do one of its many Diagnostic tests). But I was only able to get it to open in Safe Mode a couple of times. When it did, Illustrator identified that it had a problem with the Suitcase Fusion plug-in. I have since disabled the plug-in just for Illustrator through Suitcase Fusion and still, Illustrator will not load, even to a diagnostic state. But Adobe needs to understand that the simultaneous moment that multiple users experienced an abrupt shutdown of Illustrator and it not loading with the acceptable wait time, that there is something much more than "old residual files" present. There shouldn't be any reason that an Adobe employee needs to be inside monkeying around user's machines. Just like when the Create Suite was the latest product line before CC, it needs to provide a Tool Cleaner program to rid of all these "old" files for us now. Or during the large push of CC 2021, the installer should remove all instances of CC 2019 and CC 2020. (I just looked in my Applications Folder and found those folders for those previous releases. I removed them.) Please find a fix ASAP for us that have moved to Big Sur and want to run the latest version of Illustrator beyond v25.0.
I just tested the process of editing an AI file in Illustrator v25.0 and then opening it up in Illustrator v24.3. There doesn't seem to be any issues with the file opening with a legacy program. I edited the file on my Macbook Pro running Catalina and Illustrator v25.0 and then opened the file on my iMac running Big Sur and Illustrator v24.3. In addition, I have re-installed the Suitcase Fusion plug-in for Illustrator v24.3 and have no issues so far even though the iMac is on Big Sur.

Inaccuracies with Pathfinder and Shape Builder tools
I'm using v24.3, the most recent Illustrator version. When zooming in on a shape, the selection outline does not appear to correspond to the actual fill area of the shape. When doing any cutting or merging with the pathfinder or shape builder tool, this discrepancy starts to create inaccurate results, as the tools seem to favor the selection outline as a guide when cutting.
As an example, I have a circular background. I want to "mask" a square onto it, so one of the corners of the square is outside of the circle. This corner I intend to cut off either with the pathfinder "intersect" option, or by using the shape builder tool. When I do so, however, the square seems to have an inner margin cut along the shape of the background circle, and therefore is not accurately masked.I am including an image example. The circle only has a fill color, no stroke, and is pixel perfect.

Select > Object > All Text Objects incorrectly selects hidden/locked grouped text
Windows 10
Illustrator 24.2.3 (64-bit)Select > Object > All Text Objects incorrectly selects hidden/locked grouped text.
This causes two issues:
1. hidden/locked groups of text shouldn't be selected at all by this command. (It won't actually select a hidden group of text if the TextFrame(s) inside the group are also explicitly hidden individually).
2. In a case where everything is unhidden/unlocked, this command selects the GROUP of TextFrames, not the TextFrames directly. This command will actually correctly select TextFrames in a group directly if there is another type of object sharing the group, like a pathItem, for some strange reason. But if a group is solely comprised of TextFrames then the group itself will be selected incorrectly instead of the TextFrames every time. This is an immensely difficult and annoying problem to try to work around, especially in ExtendScript as it is difficult to make sure any sneaky GroupItem objects didn't make it into the selection.

Font Preview Size
In Illustrator 24.2.3,
We are not able to change the Font Preview Size in the preference Dialogue in/under the Type Tab, and you also do not have the same feature in the Type Menu, which is the right place to set the Font Previews size default,
we are also not able to see the Font names in the written text as a preview in the Font/Character Menu.6 votes -
Eyedropper STILL not wroking on grouped objects in Illustrator 24.2.3
When using the eyedropper on grouped objects, it'll show correctly in the color panel, but it'll only apply the stoke color to the group. Please fix this! The eye dropper has not worked for grouped objects for way too long now.

Gaussian Blur Effect producing different results from 24.1.3 to 24.2 or 24.2.1
The Gaussian Blur Effect "Effect→Blur→Gaussian Blur" is now behaving differently in 24.2 than it was in 21.x. Updating to 24.2.1 did not solve the issue.
The issue: A designer applies a Gaussian Blur to a vector shape and sets the desired blur level to achieve the desired effect. When that file is opened by another user using 24.2 or 24.2.1, copying and pasting the object, or toggling the visibility of the Gaussian Blur effect (in the attributes panel) on the original object will change the visual appearance of the blur (the blur noticeably increases in strength).
This alters the intended design by the designer. If the file is then saved by the 24.2 user and re-opened in 24.1.x or 24.0 (tested), the blur effect will revert to the originally intended visual appearance when the gaussian blur effect visibility is toggled in 24.1 or 24.0. The actual blur value in the gaussian blur settings is unchanged.
For example with an arbitrary number, a gaussian blur effect of value 100 applied to a vector shape in 24.2 produces are larger / stronger blur effect than it does in 24.1 or 24.0.
Also, in 24.2.1, a vector shape with a gaussian blur effect applied to it will appear differently on a white art board background than it will with a white filled vector shape behind it. When a white shape is placed behind the blurred object, the blur appears larger than it does on the white artboard.

Illustrator 24.2 not saving changes!!!!!
Since the last update it already happened twice, and I am mad as ****!!!
I just had another file that I worked one day before, and when I opened it now, the file has a lot of missing changes! Pretty much hours of work are gone! And I will have to do all over again! Luckily I had saved a copy as PDF to show to the client, so some graphics I could recover, but all the text elements I will have to redo!
And the crazy thing is that I have the habit of saving changes pretty much every 5 min!
I am saving the files locally, into external hard drives. I had the same problem with two different files, each one saved in a different had driver.
If it is a bug, it is absurd and unacceptable!

In-app tutorials not opening
I am using Adobe Illustrator 2020 24.1.2 that I downloaded from Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop.
I am operating on a Microsoft Windows 10 Home version 10.0.18363.
I opened the app and clicked on the in-app tutorials available in the Learn section. The tutorials that opens in browsers open just fine, it is only the in-app tutorials that do not respond in any way when clicked on.
I expected the in-app tutorial to open and show a step-by-step tutorial by opening a new project, similar to the in-app tutorials in other Adobe apps (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, etc.).
The actual result was that nothing happened. When the clicker was moved to the tutorial, it was highlighted and the clicker turned into a hand icon. When I clicked onto it nothing opened.
Everything else other than these tutorials are working fine. My device and Adobe Cloud apps are fully updated, so I am confused why nothing opened when it should have.

Tracing large image gives worse results than with tracing a small portion of the same image
When trying to trace a fairly large file with sparse graphics - the trace function appears to lower the resolution significantly, resulting in a junk trace. If I clip a small portion of graphics and trace that, it works fine. Shrinking the file before tracing didn't work (by half), I couldn't shrink any more without losing the fine grained art. I was able to make this work using a different product(which I really don't like). I use trace all the time, usually on smaller logos, which works fine. I suspect there is something in their algorithm that reduces the resolution the program looks at based on the size of the file in order to save CPU time. It would be nice if that "handle" was available to the end user so they could decide to use more cycles or memory when needed.
