1. With "Snap to Point" on, the cursor doesn't change colour to indicate a snap to anchor will occur

   I just switched to AI 2017 from AI 2015 and i'm noticing this straight away. In preview mode and artwork modes. Turning on Smart Guides helps in some situations but in other cases it fails to identify a Snap when an anchor is around. Snap to Point should work independently of Smart Guides anyhow.

   Massively annoying.

   If you are still having problems with this, please provide a test file and a small video showing the exact workflow and the combination of options used. This would help to start investigation.

2. Bounding box is incorrectly displayed on multiple highdpi displays

   When using multiple monitors with different Hi-DPI settings on Windows OS, the bounding box for the selected item is sometimes displayed incorrectly.
   I work on a dual display setup: my primary monitor is a 15.6inch 4K display @ 200% DPI scaling settings, and my second monitor is 24inch 2560*1440 display @ 125% DPI scaling.
   When working on a larger second monitor, the bounding box for a selected item is displayed at an incorrect position, which makes the work very difficult.

3. Not enough memory

   Have issues with CC 2017 (latest version) not being able to action things as not enough memory. Seems to be that 2GB limit that Ai imposes as my system has 64GB installed with at least 40GB free to use. The programme is also incredibly slow with anything complex. I reinstalled CS6 version, and that works faultlessly and fast with the same files, with no hesitation at all! It's at least 20x times faster than current Ai. I'm on a powerful Mac Pro with Sierra 10.12.6 and an NVIDIA 4GB GTX 970 graphics card. I have disabled GPU use as it often crashes AI. I put performance ahead of new features. There are so many vector programmes out there that work so much faster than Ai. There must be a fix as something is definitely seriously wrong here.

4. AI CC2017 has flatten my work file into an image automatically

   1. Illustrator 21.1.0

   2. I use a lot of paths and layers to create effects in AI, once done I saved it. When i reopen it to edit some features, I was shocked that it flatten all my paths into an image! Nothing I can do but re-do it, painful experience!!

   I re-do (painfully), saved, reopen.....it works fine. I used that AI file to do adaptation, by copy the whole layers (file A) and paste to other AI file art board (file B).

   But when I reopen file B to further edit, file B has turn into a flatten image....again. Luckily file A still working fine.

   I tried copy file A to file C (new document file).....the result is even weird. Some group in layers has flatten, but some are not.

   I use the same save/ export steps like CS5. I didn't touch any setting in save dialogue. I was not able to figure out why it flatten when I close the file.

   1. I should be able to amend the AI CC, the software shouldn't flatten it automatically. It caused me into a big trouble.

   2. AI CC flatten my paths, groups, layers....randomly.

5. Bugged redraw/tearing when drawing a shape causes window to scroll

   1. Illustrator CC2017.1.0
   2. Click and drag with a shape tool (e.g. rectangle) and while dragging move to the edge of the window so it causes it to scroll.
   3. The window should redraw the newly visible parts of the document as the window scrolls them into view.
   4. Depending on whether GPU acceleration is enabled or not you get nothing or you get the edge pixels repeated endlessly during the scroll until you release the mouse.

6. Strokes on text container disappear with Transform effect

   Create a text box.
   Deselect it.
   Direct select the container path.
   Give it a stroke.
   Select the text box and apply the Transform effect.
   Stroke disappears.
   Delete the Transform effect.
   Stroke appears.

7. 文字パネルのカーニング設定のドロップダウンのチェックマークが1つ前の選択オブジェクトの設定を表示する

   Step to Reproduce
   1. ドキュメント上にエリア内文字を３点用意し、それぞれの文字間のカーニングを設定を「和文等幅」「オプティカル」「メトリクス」に設定する。
   2. 選択を解除し、「和文等幅」を設定したものを選択する。
   3. 再び選択を解除し、「オプティカル」に設定したものを選択する。
   4. 文字パネル上では「オプティカル」が表示されているが、ドロップダウンをプレスすると「和文等幅」の項目にチェックマークが付いている。
   5. 選択を変更しながらドロップダウンのチェックマークを確認すると、一つ前に選択していたものにチェックマークが付いている。

8. ファイルのアクセス権が起動時に必ず求められる

   Mac版についてになります。
   アプリの起動を行うと、まず初めに

   「Adobe Illustrator 2026から、他のアプリからのデータへのアクセス権を求められています。」
   という確認ポップアップが、表示されるようになりました。

   Macの設定にある、「セキュリティ、プライバシー」のファイルアクセスなどに関する権限をみたところ、追加がされていませんでした。
   （なお、PremiereやPhotoshopは追加されていました）
   残念ながら、Mac上では対象アプリを追加することができないようになっており、これらの対応策が見つからない状態になりました。

   同様の現象などで回避策をお持ちでしたらご教示ください。

   Mac OS26.3
   Illustrator　30.2.1の最新版

   （26/3/14現在）

   このバージョンにアップデートしてから今回のような症状が現れた記憶になります。

   Enabling Show Tool Tips in Preferences > General helped to have the names for swatches on hover back

    再現手順
    1. 矩形を３点、横に並べて塗りに対してグラデーションを適用する。
    2. グラデーションツールで３点の矩形に対して左右のエッジに始まりと終わりのグラデーションストップが来るように調整する。
    3. ３点の矩形を複合パス化する。
    4. グラデーションストップの終端側が大きく移動する。

    期待する結果
    複合パス化してもグラデーションの状態は変化しない。

    実際の結果
    複合パス化するとグラデーションストップの位置が大きく変化する。

    代替処理
    複合パス化したあと、再度グラデーションツールで調整を行う。

    4. The end-side gradient stop move significantly.

    Expected result
    The gradient state remains unchanged after compound path conversion.

    Actual result
    The positions of the gradient stops change significantly after compound path conversion.

    Workaround
    After converting to a compound path, reapply adjustments using the Gradient Tool.

    When the gradient direction is horizontal or vertical, the end stop shifts significantly. For other angles, both gradient stops move.

11. Paragraph and Character Styles that have been deleted reappear when document is saved.

    After a paragraph or character style is deleted and you save the document the styles reappear.

12. Significant issues when outlining a file for production / Color of text becomes mixed [?] while Appearance shows None for fill color

    When outing a full packaging layout for print production, text blocks turn solid (not text), editable compound shapes (shapes with text in them) turn solid, sometimes the whole layout disappears - I cannot find a common issue for these things and seems somewhat random. This never happened before the V29 update and is causing significant rework and extra steps in the file production process.

13. Bezier handle hit box too small, difficult to select and move handles

    Version: 2026 desktop (mac)

    Bezier handle hit area is significantly smaller than previous versions. Visual handle size does not match clickable hit area and it is sooo frustrating. It seems like you have to click on it directly in the center, otherwise it does not select and you can't adjust and move the handles. Or you end up clicking on something else.

    I usually draw in 2020, as it does not have this issue, but I like that you can rotate canvas on 2026. This handle issue is driving me crazy!

    Anyone else having this issue?

14. Document Raster Effects settings not being honored on all affected objects

    Illustrator 30.1 on MacOS 14.6.1
    Changing the Document Raster Effects settings used to affect all objects with pixel effects, at current it appears not to anymore and one has to manually force an update of the Drop Shadow effect for example.

15. Area type centering option not working, text jumps to top of frame

    When creating text frame with area type (it is not threaded nor multiple columns) set to center vertically, the text jumps to the top and will not center align at all. This is a function I have used in 2025 with no issues and now it will not work at all in 2026.

16. Offset path missing in Swedish and Italian version

    I couldn't find the function Offset path (Förskjuten bana) on the Swedish version of Illustrator 30.1.
    I'm on MacOs Sequoia 15.7.3

    It is usually located at Object - Path - Offset Path
    Objekt - Bana - Förskjuten bana.

    Tried to reinstall illustrator.
    Tried rebooting.
    Tried clear preference and cashe in Mac library.

    When we uninstalled the Swedish version and Installed an English version (North America) it showed up and is working.

17. Hitting Tab key after changing artboard name in Artboard palette

    If I rename an artboard in the Artboards palette and press tab (e.g. to rename the next artboard), the new name only changes in the Artboards palette.

    The artboard name visible on the canvas, and the one used when exporting files, is still the old name.

    If I press the Return key after making a name change in Artboards palette it works as expected.

    Would like to be able to Tab through the list and make changes.

    The issue is reportedly fixed in the latest 30.3 Beta build. Please install or update it from you CCD app and give it a try, to make sure it’s safe to be pushed into the next general build, please.

18. The gradient is not displayed correctly when moving the shape in any blending mode (e.g. Screen)

    When I move an object with a gradient in a blend mode, the gradient seems to stay in place while I move it, and only applies after I release the cursor. As you can see from the screenshots, I am not moving the gradient, but rather moving the object itself.

    This is very annoying; I've never had this happen before. I'm very disappointed that I updated to the new version.

    Is there any solution?

19. Unable to open old ai or pdf files

    Mac OS Tahoe, Ai version 30.1. <-- just updated 12/22/25
    I cannot open complete, editable Ai or PDF files created in older previous Ai versions. A message appears that Illustrator could only partially read the file. If I continue it creates a file that cannot be edited. Opening and editing files is CRITICAL to our print shop business.

20. Text gets duplicated in the second threaded area

    Good morning,
    Often, when I have two linked text boxes, the text placed in the first box is repeated in the second box. This doesn't happen right at the beginning, when I link the text boxes. I notice this later, when I review the work done. Can you tell me why this happens?
