Find and Replace should immediately count occurrences of the Find field contents in a document, before hitting Find
Why not showing us how many occurrences of a searched text the document has as we type the text? Why every browser can do this, but a professional tool will smack you with the loud alert only after you hit Replace All? How can I count matches without replacing?!

Highlight linked files with mismatched color profiles.
It would be great if there was an option to either highlight or have a warning icon applied to links in the links list when there is a mismatched color profile. It would save me lots of time when hunting down links that need to be changed to match the working space when I am cleaning up a complex composition.

An option to Remove Share Button completely
Glad you can take the blue color off the Share button (based on this request: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/44391642)
Would LOVE to have the option of taking the share button off altogether.

Allow custom color profiles to be saved to the CC libraries
Creating CutContour swatch and Color Process colors (because Pantone+ colors are not available) lose their values once saved to CC libraries.

incorrect color assignments
Actions to change path color to black instead turn the path white on the first try. Repeating the exact same action flow a second time in a row turns the path black.

Templates created do not store color profile attribution
Steps to reproduce:
- Start a new document
- Use the menu Edit -> Assign Profile...
- Assign a profile to the document, such as Working CMYK
- Save this document as a template (.ait)
- Open the template file just created
- This new document will not have a color profile assigned

Let us set the default color for effects
I know this was changed in a recent release, but instead of just setting the default color for drop shadow to 100%K, let us choose what we want the default to be. Some of us might want rich black instead - or a different color. And please do this for all effects that use colors (Outer Glow, Inner glow, etc..)

Allow to change color & width of border / edges for artboards (all and active)
Sometimes when I am using black colour I cant see properly my artboard size so I have work with the guides instead of using the change artboard colour option so it gets annoying. If there were an artboard frame colour option it would be easier to compare my design w.r.t. the artboard

82 votesWe finally got the control over the active artboard border color.
In Beta 30.1.0.89, in Preferences > Selection & Anchor Display, in the new Artboard Display section, we now can choose the color and the border width in pixels — black, 1 px by default, as usual. We can set it 4 px maximum
The border tries to get aligned by center, but stays pixel-perfect, so choosing 3 is safe. Color choices are the same as we get with layers’ colors, with a custom option as well.
There’s no way to tweak inactive artboards’ borders. Please comment if this solution is working for you and if there’s anything you need to have it perfect.

Put gradients in swatch groups, option to make them global, work between Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop
It's a three-in-one suggestion around the entire universe of gradient issues in Adobe software.
A. Why can't we put gradients in swatch group folders? This seems like a very basic feature for swatch organization.

Change stroke color of custom brush
I've downloaded a few custom brushes & their colors don't change. They're black, that's it, no matter what stroke color I choose in the palette. I don't like having to expand their appearance just to change their color. In a few projects that I'm working on, I want to be able to try a few different brushes in the color that I like (and be able to change that color, too) + at any point that I wish to change that brush again in the future & maintain that color. Tool nesting groups
I'm on a laptop. With the nested tools off to my right you can organize them to be in little clusters when you use them. Its great. When you have the three window options for color / gradient / swatches it would be nice to be able to click and drag a swatch onto the tab of one of the nested sets for a second and have it switch to the underlying window. For example, you drag a swatch square onto the gradient tab and then you could drop the swatch color right into the gradient slider. Now, you…

A lock for the current style (stroke weight, fill, color), but tool specific
When I need to adjust a filled object and then return to say, the pen tool. I first have to reset the color and stroke before I can go back to my line work. I would love it if there were simply a lock for this on the pallet so that while drawing I can lock it to a certain color, fill, and stroke weight/style. Perhaps a simple lock on the tool pallet under color. Gray out lock icon over color when I turn the pen tool back on would be a good indicator. So it is attached…

A new tool that copies exactly the color that's seen by the user on the screen through transparent objects
Currently, when I like a certain color that's formed through the combination of 2 or more transparent objects (or objects with blend modes applied), I can't copy that exact color. The eye-dropper tool simply copies the color from the topmost object. I often find myself taking a snap of the display and then paste that image within illustrator and copying the color I want from that image.
Request: I'd like a tool, similar to the eye-dropper, but instead, it picks the RESULTANT color(s) that is displayed through transparent objects or even objects with BLEND-MODES applied to them.

Scatter Brush 'scatter magnitude' slider
I would like to see a new pair of sliders in the scatter brush options that controls how 'powerful' the scatter is.
Each instance of the brush image would have its distance from the central path, as defined by the 'scatter' slider(s), multiplied by this value. So if it was at 0%, any effect of the scatter sliders would be completely nullified, if it was at 1000%, the effect of the scatter sliders would be multiplied by ten.

Find color in artwork button in Recolor Artwork advanced dialog is useless when the object is too small
There is a button in Recolor Artwork dialog to fade all other colors but a clicked one, the rightmost button with a magnifier below the Current Colors list.
This fade does little help when the object with the chosen color is too small on the canvas, like in a complex illustration.
Zooming to these can be a solution, but it won't help if there are many of these specs with the color, so perhaps these objects should be highlighted with a flash of edges or in some other dynamic way to help to locate them.14 votes -

Allow to place cards next to color chips instead of always below for Swatch Info objects
We can choose from two main layout options for Swatch Info: horizontal and vertical.
Horizontal puts 'cards' with text info below the chips, while Vertical option makes them... wait! Still below? Not next to it?
I think we should be able to choose if we want to place them on the side, rather then always at the bottom.
