  2. show swatch folders in recolor artwork panel

In the recolor artwork panel when you double click the color on the right to determine what the color is being changed to, you can choose from swatches by then clicking on swatches. But, it's just a list of all of the swatches with no indication of which swatch folder the swatches are in. This makes recoloring difficult at times

  3. Swatches panel easier cleanup/delete and Recolor Artwork tool

    • Have delete options for swatch library in drop down or drag/drop to trash.

    • Enable delete option in user defined menu to clean up old/saved swatches no longer needed and organize alphabetically or enable us to drag/drop folder within panels for easier regrouping.

    • Also allow swatches folders to drag/drop to other open windows/working open files.

    • Allow us to customize our main Swatch panel without having to delete the AI standard swatches every time (but not delete them either just customize or minimize/hide the preset colors).

    • Recolor tool: enable a way to select a recolor option (or tag…

  4. Allow repeat patterns to be added to swatches

In the desktop version of AI you were able to create patterns and then add them to the swatches panel to access in any other file. This would be a good feature for the app.

  5. Can we please get Image Trace by Color option

Can we please get Image Trace by Color option. So if we like to trace only single color elements from raster image, we can do.. We can correct the shape by pen tool and join it to our vector art...

  6. Separate "Ask when opening" settings for color mismatches

We have a large team that's constantly opening previous projects. The print team is separate from the video team.

For the video team, the CMYK profile is sort of irrelevant, but the RGB isn't.

Is there a way to have Illustrator tell about only RGB color mismatches when opening the file, and just preserve CMYK?

Basically, I'd like to have the result of "Ask when opening" different for CMYK and RGB.

That way the team can keep a policy of preserving CMYK without getting a popup every time, but act only RGB profile mismatches.

  7. "Replace" automatically selected

Everytime I place an image I have to check if "replace" is clicked. If I have a picture selected and then "place", it means I want to replace it. Please fix this, it's very annoying and have been there for ages.

  8. Ctrl+click the swatch to mix it with the current color

There is a small thing in Corel Draw, that AI could benefit of too.
If you have an object selected and click in a different swatch with a Ctrl held, it adds a bit of clicked color to your current one, blending them.

Like if you have a yellow CMYK 0-0-100-0 and Ctrl+click in 0-100-0-0 magenta swatch, you will have 0-10-90-0, 0-19-81-0, 0-27-73-0, getting more like the clicked swatch with each click. Same in EGB Very convenient for adding color reflexes and picking a color in general.

  9. Automatically make gradients by just selecting two or more colors

Create a default gradient of two or more colors just by selecting them on the artwork or on the swatches panel without having to copy and paste the color codes separately.

    Hello all,

This functionality is now available in all the public builds starting V29.0.

To use this functionality, simply select colors from your swatches panel and click on 'create gradient' in the swatch panel options.

Please try out this feature and let us know what you think!

  10. Adobe color themes bug

The "Open Color Themes Panel" button in Swatches opens a broken panel that cannot be resized to see it's web view. It can only be resized vertically. Seems like it went unchecked and shipped.

  11. Find color in artwork

Sometimes I have a stray color that I cannot find in the artwork. It would be nice if there was a way I could click on the swatch and say find color and it would highlight everything that color was used on.

  12. Make Create Gradient from swatches command to respect the order of selection

Recently Illustrator added a dedicated command to create a gradient form selected swatches, following this request: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/38592196

While the function works, there is no way to create a gradient respecting the selection order of swatches — the gradient will always use their order in the panel. I wish it worked! If we need the direct order of swatches, we’d just selected like this.

  13. Please add Illustrator option to maintain text color

Could you please add an option for us to keep the color we chose for the text in an illustrator file we're currently working on?

Meaning: Say I am writing text in a file, but I want separate text boxes and I want to keep the same color, rather than Illustrator defaulting back to black or whatever color was set as default in the preferences.

I'd like to be able to check a box to keep the color I am using for the text rather than having to go back to the color and subsequently the default sizes set…

  14. Add Preview option when creating a Swatch Info object

When we create a Swatch Info object, using a dedicated command from the Swatches panel’s menu, the dialog is missing Preview option we can enable and see how the parameters work in real-time.

  15. Add CSS color styling option to OpenType-SVG specification, so font colors may be altered in Illustrator

Currently, OpenType-SVG color fonts come with pre-defined colors.

To provide glyphs in different shades, additional stylistic sets need to be added to the font, bloating it tremendously.

I propose to add the ability to OpenType-SVG to have certain colors of a glyph being overwritten by the application (e.g. Illustrator), so text colors can be applied to a range of glyphs just like it's done with standard monochrome glyphs.

To do so, OpenType-SVG should be able to export a set of color reference names, referenced within the glyph's SVG. An application may then assign alternate colors to…

  16. Default Swatches and Styles as part of New Document Dialog

The first thing I do every time I create a new document is delete all those default swatches and add my own. And those pattern swatches (e.g., "Jive," "Golden Ring," "Alyssa"), I am literally never going to use those.

And those quirky Graphic styles ("Jive_GS" etc). I am literally never going to use those either.

Ideally, I'd like to load up a document with its swatches, paragraph styles, graphic styles etc as part of the "new document" dialog. I can choose artboard size, bleed, margins, all kinds of things.

How about if I could pick swatch groups, paragraph styles,…

  17. Don’t require hitting Find before Replace All becomes active in Find and Replace dialog

Illustrator’s Find and Replace dialog is bad.
One of the issues is that we can’t immediately Replace All after we enter text. We have to press Find first.

Why? If it’s nothing to replacereplace nothing (and perhaps show a message, preferably a shy one, not a clunky modal dialog).

  18. Change colormode of swatchcolors with spotColorKind

    Hello Adobe,

I want to change the colormode of a swatch with javascript.
I do not want to change the document mode but I want to change specific swatches in my swatch library.

Now some of my swatches/colors are RGB spotcolors. I want to change them into CMYK spotcolor.

This is almost impossible now because spotColorKind is now read only :(

    Now I have to:
    - create new swatches with exactly the same colors and with different name
    - attach new color to my pathitems
    - delete old swatches

  19. Drag color swatch onto artboard to make a square with the fill color.

It would be nice for creating style sheets to be able to drag a swatch onto the artboard and have it just make a square of that color.
