1. Smooth Blend Tool Broken

   On the Mac OS, when blending between two shapes using the smooth blend tool, 7/10 times the blend will not be smooth but have one step between the shapes. I can instead create lots of steps as a work-around, but the designated tool does not work. If the shapes are separated far enough, more (but few) steps will appear.

   In the images below, you will see an attempted blend between a dark green gradient square, and a light green square. I am using the smooth blend tool.

2. New DXF importer makes closed filled shapes come as solid facets, groups are lost

   I import a DXF block filled by a solid Hatch.

   Previously (stillworking in Ai2019) the shape comes as a filled closed path

   now it opens as tons of single filled triangles

3. Pantone Connect

   Hi there,

   When trying to load the Pantone Connect Extension I see a black window instead of the swatches and other features of the extension. The only message I see is a purple link that says “reload plugin” which has no effect when I click on it. This was the case for the 2020 version when I tried it today, so I updated all my apps, thinking this might help. However, the same error occurs with the 2021 versions of Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign. When I last used the extension in summer last year, it worked great… has there been a change in the meantime? Am I doing something wrong?

4. Unit increments for Large canvas documents have fractions

   Since the introduction of the large canvas sizes (which is awesome, by the way) I have been noticing that my increments of measure particularly in type and keyboard increments within the preferences have been scaling down to microscopic numbers when I change from feet to inches or points. I then get these odd numbers when scaling type with the keyboard shortcuts.

5. Package in Illustrator 2021 not copying fonts - Windows 10

   The package functionnality in Illustrator 2021 does not copy the fonts to the package folder. The report doesn't display any error.
   The same job was packaged on Mac and worked fine.

6. type tool is fundamentally broken.

   Why did you f up the type tool?? It, like almost everything else in Illustrator, doesn't work as good as it did a few versions back. I don't mind you making changes, but when it starts to impede productivity, it's a problem. I hate this program now. HATE. It's a buggy, aggravating, and just does not work seamlessly as it once did.

   With the type tool, I have issues placing the cursor in the type. if I use the hand tool in conjunction with the type tool, it overrides the hand tool and starts adding spaces. Neve been a problem until a couple of months ago.Those are my main complaints at the moment, but the entire way illustrator handles type...with the type menu and how its organized, with how the program handles outside (non-adobe...or even older adobe fonts) type, with the atrocious ux and organization of the adobe type site. How it doesn't automatically activate type... Its blatantly obvious that the people making decisions about Illustrator do not use it. Please start focusing on your user's experience and talking to, and working with, designers. How are ya'll missing so badly with this once amazing program????? Please, please make this better

7. illustrator 2021 won't open large files created in 2020 version

   Opening large files created in the 2020 version gives a message " Illustrator could partially read this file. We recovered as much of the file as possible, but some content might be missing. Open to view the recovered file."

   Any file with multiple layers or artboards only shows one artboard and layers are missing. The weird thing is the preview shows the full file and artboards, they just won't open.

   Is anyone else having this problem? I've found that if you install illustrator 2020 and open it there it usually works (although not always)

8. Apple Emoji glyphs now crop at the bottom when rasterising + viewing - after Big Sur update

   I have updated to Big Sur. 2018 MacBook Pro. The Apple Emoji glyphs updated. Now, they are cropped about 3-5px on the bottom. Baseline shift doesn't help, rasterising doesn't help, changing the size of the type doesn't help. The emoji are permanently cropped now in both 2019 and 2020 AI versions, as well as in Photoshop. This is both when viewing the letterform, and when rasterising or outlining it. Please help! <3 I am trying to finish a job that looked great before Big Sur. Can't find anything on line.

10. Warped Object moves up artboard when changing Bend or Distortion

    1. Using Windows 10, latest version, and Adobe Illustrator V 25.1 (but this has occurred in every version of AI I've ever owned)
    2. After I warp an object, if I change the Bend or Distortion amount in the Top Toolbar the object shifts up the artboard. This happens whether I input an amount and hit enter, or if I just use the arrow keys to increase or decrease an amount. Additionally, if I go into the Object>Envelope Distort>Reset with Warp menu, it shifts up.
    3. I would expect the object to remain in the same place on the artboard, and change the bend/distortion amount in place.
    4. Instead it shifts up every time, and I have experienced this in all versions of Illustrator and on multiple machines.

11. GPU Problem after upgrade to 25.1

    After upgrading to 25.1 GPU previewing is erratic. After a while working on a document GPU previewing is not available (after restart Illustrator it is). Then also problems with text selection occur, text is not marked as selected and text cursor is not visible. Seems like a problem with out of video memory? Using a maxed out MacMini with 64GB RAM and a Blackmagic eGPU. MacOS is 11.1
    For now reverting Illustrator 25.0 removes all problems.

14. M1 laptop hang

    Adobe illustrator keeps hanging on me while
    Designing halfway. Sometimes it even hangs my own laptop. I know it hasn’t been optimised for m1 chip MacBook Pro (I’m using that currently) but sometimes it hangs so long that I’ve to force shut down my laptop and open up the file again. It’s just very unstable and buggy. Please help???

15. missing Character panel in the properties panel

    When I select some text, 'character' panel is gone (illustrator 2020 for mac). But when I click 'edit clipping path', I am not able to select certain text for editing. Could you please help solve this issue. Thanks in advance!

16. UI scales are off even after adjustment - icons, ruler, menu

    The ruler always seems to get hidden after updates but also it is very small relative to the icons and file menu.

    This means at 100% UI scale the ruler is too small but at medium (doesn't say what % for some reason) the ruler is too big and icons are way too big.

    This only became an issue when I started using higher resolution monitors (anything greater than 1920x1080). So my guess is it has something to do with a relationship with Windows 10 GUI and Illustrator.

    Any insight would be appreciated and questions welcomed. Attached is illustrator at 100% and Indesign

17. Image trace does not limit colors in grayscale

    When using the grayscale mode in image trace and limiting the number of colors image trace creates an unlimited range of grays. I selected ten grays, expanded, and when clicking "re-color artwork", more grays than I would waste time counting are shown (at least 50, but maybe more).

18. Pattern Seam issues with Adobe Capture patterns

    when using adobe capture patterns there is a transparent seam in the pattern, I am able to remove the seam by change the width of the pattern but its only a temporary fix as soon as I change the pattern the seam comes back. This issue only seams to happen in illustrator, because when I use the same patterns in photoshop there is no gap between patterns

    Steps to replicate:

    1. use adobe capture to create a pattern.
    2. create a shape in illustrator

    3. open the libraries tab and insert the pattern
       where lines/ spaces appear in-between the pattern

    4. go to pattern options width will say something like 50.7 px

    5. click on the hamburger menu icon and click on edit pattern

    6. change pattern to 50px or 50.6px which removes the lines, 50.6 seams to line the patterns up fairly well

    I wish that this issue was fixed, or that there was a permanent way of fixing the patterns,

19. Pattern palette causes program crash

    I have been experiencing a lot of problems with Illustrator since updating to Big Sur OS. At first it didn't even open. Now, the Pattern palette causes the program to crash every time I attempt to create a pattern. I have wasted a whole week and I cant seem to be able to get it to work correctly.

20. Adobe Illustrator 2021 desktop cannot open .aic file from cloud on Windows

    I saved a file I was working on to Adobe Creative Cloud two days ago and can't open it or an older version of it. When I try to download it I receive the message "Fehler beim Herunterladen" [Error downloading] (German PC), same with an older version. When I try "in Illustrator öffnen" [open in illustrator] Illustrator will start, but the file won't open and nothing else happens. If I already have another (local) file open in Illustrator, I will shortly see the message (screenshot 1)

    I may have had one or two unembedded linked files in the problematic file. When I save such a file I get the message in the second screenshot.

    I have not moved the linked files on my computer in the meantime, and I haven't tried to open the file on another device either.
