An action set can’t be dragged into the topmost position
For some peculiar reason an action set item can’t be dropped at the top of the list in Actions panel, like it’s shown in the GIF attached. To workaround this, you have to put it second, and then put the first one after it.

Scale Strokes & Effects checkmark in Transform panel is disabled when nothing is selected
Illustrator has many ways to reach certain values, options and functions: through menus, panels, preferences, etc. Accessibility options are fine most of the times, and we are all used to this approach (sometimes it becomes ridiculous, like with many ways to access Transform).
But there are some toggles which are hard to control.

You can't import actions by dragging .aia file into Illustrator
We can run a script by drag-n-dropping it into Illustrator.
We can open files like this.
We can’t load an actions set by dropping an .aia file into Ai, even if we snpe the Action panel specifically. We are forced to use the panel’s menu, Load Actions command and the system dialog. Too clunky for the modern times.13 votes -
PDF export misses
After performing "Save a copy" and choosing the PDF, the PDF created does not contain all the art of the artboard. It seems random with no consistency as to what is affected.
- Sometimes ungrouping helps, 50%. Most often I have to delete the art and replace it.
- Could even be the same art that appears on another page, so its not errors in the art.
- Could be copy or vector work.
- Does not matter if its save as smallest size or other size1 voteThe team would need the test file you can reliably reproduce the problem, the steps to reproduce it, the exact OS specs and the version of Illustrator used. A video can also help to study the issue.

Overprint Preview + Show Grid + canvas matching color = white canvas
If you turn Overprint preview on, enable grids, and set the canvas color to match the UI brightness (in Preferences > User Interface), you get a white canvas instead of usual and expected dark.
Turning grid off makes it filled with the matching color again.
It makes SOME sense, but does not really help with anything and makes some users wonder about 'how to fix it'.

Bug: dragging global swatch to the “plus” button doesn’t work as expected
MacOS 12.6.2
Illustrator 27.1.1To replicate the issue:
Create a group of swatches and put a global swatch inside the group.
Drag this swatch to the [+] button to create a duplicate.
The actual result: A new global swatch is created outside the group with “Original Name copy” name while the original swatch is also renamed to the same name. Changing one of those swatches also changes the other, they act as one swatch.

No error gets triggered when a swatch is renamed to have an identical name with another one

The issue: one can create multiple swatches with the same name.
Create a few non-global swatches or use existing ones. Go inside the swatches and edit the names to the same value for all swatches — no error is triggered.2 votes -
Colors don't match
The color picker rounds the CMYK to the nearest whole number but the color window does not. They should be made consistent.

Color guide options reset to default on Illustrator restart
- Windows 10 22H2 build 19045.2486
- Illustrator 27.2
- Open Color Guide Options from Color Guide panel -> customize Steps and/or Variation value -> close and open Illustrator
- Expected: Color Guide panel remembers options Result: options reset to default values (4 steps, 100% variation) so you have to re-enter them every time you start Illustrator

Free Distort effect ignores Drop Shadow effect within
If a Drop Shadow effect is above a Free Distort effect in the Appearance panel (which means the shadow gets applied after the distortion) — it works fine.
However, if we first have a shadow and then try to distort the object which casts it (the Free Distort is below the Drop Shadow in Appearance) — the vector geometry gets distorted, but the shadow stays orthogonal and immune to the distortion.
Not a very popular workflow, I know, but still.

When working with hi-res Black and White Bitmaps Illustrator goes to CPU preview disabling GPU Animated / Scrubby Zoom.
When using hi-res BW bitmaps, 'Scrubby Zoom' or 'Animated Zoom' disables itself even if it's enabled in preferences. This happens after roughly 1 or 2 seconds after opening a file with this kind of images. The window goes from CMYK/Preview mode to CMYK/CPU mode as if it was in Separations Preview or CPU preview, even though it wasn't set to either of those. View>View Using GPU becomes grayed out so I can't go back.
This bug is happening on a file with 2 1200dpi bitmap 5"x5" (embedded and/or linked), each under 1MB in size, making the Illustrator file 3MB total,…

illustratorだけ正常にフォントが表示されない
TTEditで自作したフォントを10個インストールしましたが、Turetypeの日本語フォントのみillustratorでだけ表示されません。フォント名は連番で作成していますが（例：WA-01、WA-02など）環境にないフォントとしてフォントファミリーとして認識してしまします。
手動でフォントを変更することは可能ですが、他のPCでは同じフォントと認識しません。
Excelでは表示されます。PC：Windows10 21H2
illustrator：26.0、27.0どちらでもダメでした
実行：フォントリストの再作成、フォント名の英語表記ON/OFF、環境設定ファイルの再作成、Adobeのログアウト、PCの初期化、日本語IMEの旧バージョンON/OFF、Adobeの必須ファイルへ直接フォントファイルを入れてのインストール、Windows/Fontsへコピーしてのインストールいろいろ試しましたが変わりませんでした。
PCも変更してみましたがダメでした。まず、フォントリストが削除出来ませんでした。
（写真参照）解決策があれば教えていただきたいです。

Please repair selection of path text objects in a group
When text on a path is part of a group, it is no longer possible to select and delete it.
In previous versions Alt-Shift-Direct Selection allowed to select the path text and delete it, but in the latest version, this tries to delete the path from the text object, which results in 'Can't clear the Objects'.2 votes -
Bitmap images change color
I'm using Illustrator 27.4.1 on Mac OS Ventura 13.2, but I've had this problem for several years.
I link to 1-bit BMPs and color them with a swatch.
When I have multiple BMPs using multiple colors, the preview will often change to one of the other swatches. It does not export this way, but makes it a challenge to design.
The fill color is still displayed in the toolbar correctly, but previews incorrectly until I swap the fill and stroke color twice. When i click somewhere else it will change again. In the screen recording, the bottom bmps should be…

unresponsive after remote desktop disconnection
While using AI (2023, Windows) via remote desktop, AI becomes unresponsive and must be force-quit each time the RDP connection drops.
To reproduce:
- Connect remotely to Windows
- Start AI
- Break network connection

Lost partial fraction capabilities for OpenType
It seems that Illustrator has lost partial fraction OpenType capabilities recently. I was able to create various types of fractions using the 'Fractions' option in the OpenType menu. As of recently, this capability has since been limited to basic fractions (1/4, 1/2, 3/4).
Just to note that I did not change the font. I've been using the same font in both cases (Myriad Pro).

Grüner Ampelpunkt
mit dem Grünen Punkt oben links im Fenster (Ampel) lassen sich 2 Apps, Illustrator und InDesign, nicht mehr vergrößern und zurück. Geht nur noch groß zu stellen aber nicht mehr zurück.

Illustrator 2023 opening file crashes when there is a broken link (usually with effects applied)
OS: Window 10
Ver: Illustrator V27.4.1When I open a saved file on other machines (Same OS and Version),
sometimes the link files are broken. However, the problem is Illustrator will crash when I click cancel on the relink pop-up window. And if the file has objects that have effects such as drop shadow/ outer glow, etc. applied. The rendering effect pop-up will load and get stuck loading, crashing the illustrator.It doesn't matter if I hit cancel on the rendering pop-up, which I suspect doesn't work, to begin with.
Have to manually kill the program with the task manager.
