The small Generative AI marketing window won't close.
When starting work this morning, a small marketing window popped up inviting me to try Generative AI. I click on the little X in the upper corner but it wouldn't close without restarting Illustrator. These marketing windows are interfering with production and are useless, please stop using them.

'Crop Image' shows incorrect dimensions
When you crop an image, the 'Crop Image' function displays the final dimensions.
However, these dimensions are wrong.
It seems that 'Crop Image' is showing the dimensions rounded to the whole number, without actually cropping the image to a whole number.
Crop Image should display the correct dimensions, otherwise this function is useless.

Opening file doesn't show canvas until minimize/maximize app window
The welcome screen options to launch recent files look fine. But it can take a few double clicks to actually open the file. And when it does open, it looks like it freezes (but doesn't freeze) but it shows the UI but where the canvas should be still shows the welcome screen. No matter whether I wait a few seconds or a few minutes, to see the canvas, I need to click the maximize/restore button to shrink the window. The app has to adjust the UI and canvas for the smaller window and starts showing the canvas.

OSX Sonoma 14.1.2 closes Illustrator 28
I searched and couldn't find this issue. Currently using OSX 14.1.2 on a MBP.
16-inch 2021, M1 Max, 64GB mem, Sonoma 14.1.2
I keep getting the following error from the OS:
"Updated required for "illustrator"
This version of "illustrator" is not compatible with macOS 14 or later and needs to be updated. Contact the app developer for more information.FWIW, this happened on the 2023 version of ai as well, so I updated it to the latest 2024 just to be safe. I'm still getting the above error though, which is funny because there's nothing I could update to. So…

Screen glitching when moving cursor
Any idea what's going on here? Whenever I open older files to edit information I'm getting a strange glitching when moving the cursor. It doesn't matter if I switch to Overprint or Preview - the issue immediately comes back. I've also Quit and Restarted and the problem still persists.
Running 28.0 on macOS Ventura 13.6.1
So, so bored of these constant issues when updating your software.

Distribute Spacing options not available in keyboard shortcut list
When the Distribute Spacing options were added to the Align panel, they were not added to the Keyboard Shortcuts panel. They remain unavailable in v28.0.x. This is an oversight, obviously, that should not be hard to remedy but will make life much easier for those of us who rely on kbscs and/or auxiliary devices like Stream Deck, Logitech G-keys, or Xencelabs' Quick Keys, etc.

Envelope Distort using a shape with 4 points as a top object generates an unexpected envelope
Text and envelope distort bug still needs work.
I've seen this reported before but it is strange why it has not been addressed in the latest version of AI, the envelope distort with top object will warp text for example, incorrectly, if the bounding object is at a certain angle. The workaround is not satisfactory because the bounding object must be rotated more horizontally to the text, resulting in an env. distort that's not the intended effect. Please see examples of before and after: one is correct (had to derive from CorelDraw), the other is not (AI).Another issue is…

Arrow keys stopped moving selected objects
Selected objects are not moving with arrow keys (this was working fine earlier today). In the history panel it shows the actions as "Move" when I press the arrows, but the objects do not move with this method.
I had not changed any settings, verified the layers were not locked, tried it with a single object and got the same result. I tried this on both my Mac keypad and my bluetooth keyboard, so it isn't an issue with the keys themselves. I restarted my Mac twice and it has failed to resolve.
Additionally, objects have also been randomly selected…
1 voteThis got solved by changing the Keyboard Increment parameter in Preferences > General back to a normal value.
Since it’s the first field that gets active when the dialog is called, it seems like it’s very easy to change it accidentally. It’s not the first time this is reported, so if it happened to you — please try to see if you can recreate the problem intentionally.

Blend in CMYK color mode and GPU preview = MOIRE
In CMYK mode the blend option looks really terrible with GPU preview. With these settings the Blend hets a jaggy moire effect.
Tested in different color modes with CPU and GPU preview. Only CMYK on GPU produces this nasty screen effect, see screenshots. I work mostyl in CMYK mode so I hope this can be fixed rapidly.
macOS 14.1.1 / Adobe Illustator 2024 v28.0
I'm sure this bug affects Illustrator v27.x too.

Giant splash screen ads in paid for, professional subscription is a BUG
I am sick to death of the huge, intrusive, non-cancelable, and occasionally completely incapacitating ads popping up in a very expensive, professional, enterprise-level paid-for subscription. This is so unbelievably unprofessional and unconscionable in a paid subscription.
I have been working for 10+ hours today in Illustrator and Photoshop, and have had several pop ups. But this one was the last straw. It nearly covered the whole screen. I can't close it and tell it never ask me this again, oh no, I can only request that it defer the annoying shill until the middle of another, future, equally tense deadline…

First colour value should be highlighted by default
When SHIFT-clicking the colour swatch to bring up the Alternate Colour UI, the first selectable value should be automatically highlighted so that I can type a value in without having to first focus on the entry field with either a mouse click of by hit the TAB key.
A near identical request as this one I recall from a while back:
The UI should operate this way by default for any pop-up type dialog/panel.

Unable to select rasterized grayscale images
This has been a bug for a while now...
When trying to select/drag rasterized Grayscale images (rasterized in Illustrator), the image is unselectable — the only way to select the image is to go into Wireframe mode and click the bounding box. This doesn't seem to be the case with RBG or Bitmap rasterized images, only grayscale.

Fill opacity, rgba color results in no color
Released Version of Illustrator (28.0)
Problem Description:
I can change the opacity of an element fill using fill-opacity attribute or by adding the fill like this: fill="rgba(12, 12, 12, 0.5)". But seems rgba color is not recognizable by AI, we see such element as black. If we save this as svg (save as -> svg), we can see that such elements do not have color at all, that why we see them as black.
Workaround: To avoid it we can use fill-opacity instead of rgba. But then, if we save such svg in the way like file -> export ->…1 vote -

Renaming a color group in Recolor makes a duplicate group
When I rename a swatch group on Color Guide interface, it automatically duplicates the color group even though no alteration took place to the included color swatches themselves. I don't want that! I just simply need a way to rename each color group just like each swatch.
The only workaround of this bug is to rename a group without duplication is to select all the in-group swatches and make another group under a new name. Then, delete the emptied previous group. What an ungraceful user experience...4 votes -
Incorrect handling of mouse clicks on the Home Screen
On the Home Screen (Preferences > General > Show the Home Screen When No Documents Are Open) the tiles representing the recent documents handle mouse clicks incorrectly.
Currently, to register a MOUSE CLICK event and open the clicked document, the position of the mouse cursor during the MOUSE DOWN event and the subsequent MOUSE UP event must be exactly the same.
Normally, to register a click it's enough that both DOWN and UP events occur within the same active area. It means that the mouse cursor can move while the mouse button is down (between the DOWN and UP events),…
