Separations preview is wrong for dynamic symbol with spot color
When a dynamic symbol gets a spot color applied to one of its fills, then the separations preview does not show the correct separation.
Reported in this forum thread (with demo file) https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/is-separations-preview-buggy/m-p/15138799#M434726

Arabic text is not searchable in a PDF saved from Illustrator
Arabic text is not searchable in a PDF saved from Illustrator.
In Adobe Illustrator v. 29.2.1 (Middle Eastern version) on Mac OS 15.2, I created a document with A4 size page, typed any number of words, lines in Arabic Language.I choose to save the file as PDF. Then in Acrobat, when I search for any Arabic word, I get the message "No matches were found".
The same text placed into Adobe InDesign or Microsoft Word, then Export the page as PDF. Those PDFs are fully searchable.I believe that PDFs out of Adobe Illustrator are the only ones with this problem.
Note. This issue was reported by Samer_M who had posted his issue and attached PDF file on the Adobe Community Forums here…

Don’t display Touch workspace styled handles for Free Transform when Ai doesn’t use it
If a computer has an access to a touch screen device, Ai offers users to switch the interface into the dedicated Touch Workspace: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/illustrator-touch-workspace.html
Normally this access won’t affect using Ai in the default mode, except for the way Free Transform tool’s controls.
These start to look ugly: large contoured circles with small white square padding inside, smudged icons (when viewed at 100 UI scale), giant hint arrows...Maybe these work for some better, I can imagine this.
But why do I see these when not in Touch mode?
How can I force Ai to use normal ones without removing my touchscreen device? This topic occasionally floats up at forums:
— https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/free-transform-padded-bounding-box-issue-cc-2019/m-p/10226690
— https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/alternating-free-transform-tool-anchor-points/m-p/10342530
and some users say they don’t have a touch device connected at all.So the problem is:
— There doesn't seem to be a way to convince Illustrator you're not using a touch device.
— There doesn't seem to be a way to toggle this feature.
— It seems to not be documented anywhere. Please address these.

+ (plus) as keyboard shortcut not working for adding anchor point tool
The keyboard shortcut for adding anchor point tool is by default + (plus).
About 1 month ago it stopped working.
I have not changed the shortcut settings. Changing the add anchor point tool shortcut to some other key works fine, it's just + (plus) that is not working. I have also tried to make + (plus) as shortcut key for other tools, but that's not working either.
So the problem seem to be the + (plus) key itself?
Only problem is, it works just fine in text, as you can see here. It works just as well in Ai when used in text.
So there seem to be no problem at all with my keyboard. It is JUST as shortcut in Ai that it does not work. No, caps lock is not stuck.
No, shift is not stuck.
Yes, i have restarted the computer several times during this month.
Yes, I have the latest version of Illustrator 29.2.1
Yes, I have looked in every forum but no one else seem to have had this issue. Please help me fix this, I really want + (plus) as shortcut for adding anchor points! Nothing else makes sense!

Incorrect Blend Mode Appearance When Opening Illustrator 2024 File in Illustrator 2025
I’ve encountered a potential bug in Illustrator. When I open a file created in Illustrator 2024 (version 28.7.4) in Illustrator 2025 (version 29.2.1), the appearance applied to the text does not display correctly.
For example, in the attached file, the text at the bottom changes to a completely different design when opened in Illustrator 2025, which is causing a significant problem.

Incorrect Zoom Label when Disabling "Display Print Size At 100% Zoom" Preference
With an artboard zoomed to 100%, and after disabling the preference "Display Print Size At 100% Zoom" preference, the zoom level is incorrectly reading "52.55%" until I switch Pixel Preview on and off again. See the attached screen recording for the exact steps to recreate this issue with a 1080px x 1080px artboard.

Wireframe Conversion of 3D objects distorts the paths, straightens curves
Converting 3D text to a wireframe often doesn’t show the curves of fonts correctly. During the process, these curves often turn into straight lines or rough shapes, losing the original look of the font or the 3D preview.

Changes made in acrobat PDF not reflected when opening in Illustrator
Sometimes, text and graphical changes made using Adobe Acrobat on PDF's are not reflected when opened in Illustrator. For example, a client sent a PDF file of a banner with a phone number on it, when viewed in Acrobat the number is different than the one in Illustrator because the client made the edit in Acrobat. It would sure be a great feature if a file would open properly in across different adobe products.

CC Libraries don't retain Lab values of swatches
If you create a color with Lab values in Illustrator or InDesign and add it to a CC Library, it will convert to CMYK in a new .indd doc and RGB in a new .ai file. We work in Lab 99.9% of the time, so this is super frustrating. We have a database of custom color mixes/names. It would save us a ton of time if we could use CC Libraries for this.
The crazy thing is... if you make a rectangle with a fill of a custom spot color with lab values and save it as a Graphic, it works fine. So why don't regular old swatches behave the same?
Thanks

Illustrator 2025 forgetting dialog box preferences and reverting to default settings, especially after closing or crashing.
New update to Illustrator 2025 seems to have issues with reverting back to interface defaults as if the app was never opened.
Example panels reverting back to default: missing fonts or font activation panel, pantone blue reminder alert strip, save dialog asking to save locally or via cloud — pretty much anything with a "don't show this again" box, Illustrator seems to forget at least a few times per week.
It also seems to be reverting keyboard shortcut commands back to default presets, though retains custom presets — you just have to go back into the keyboard shortcuts panel and change to your saved preset.
App also seems to crash more often, currently upon saving / exporting out to other file types. Every time it crashes it seems to forget all the items above.
Seems like it just has a couple bugs with the 2025 release that need to be worked out. Thanks!
• OS: MacOS Sequoia 15.1.1.
• Illustrator version: 2025 (29.1)
• Steps taken when issue experienced: most often when illustrator crashes, usually after saving/exporting to PDF, JPEG or PNG (crash intermittent but more than normal). Also while app is still open but opening a new illustrator file that is already in version 2025 (not converting). And sometimes just intermittently or seemingly random without obvious cause or crash.
• Expected result: for the app to remember preferences like keyboard shortcuts; not to show dialog or reminders after checking the "don't show this again" box; to remember save preference after choosing local vs cloud.
• Actual result: opposite of expected result (prefs revert back to default)New update to Illustrator 2025 seems to have issues with reverting back to interface defaults as if the app was never opened.

[Win11 23H2] Illustrator 29.1 Doesn't See Installed CMYK Color Profiles
By default, no installed CMYK color profiles are visible in either Edit > Color Settings > Working Spaces > CMYK and View > Proof Setup > Customize... > Device to Simulate.
They become temporarily visible again after deleting the following files:
1) C:\Users<username>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Color\ACECache11.lst
2) C:\Users<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Color\ACEConfigCache2.lst
Sometimes I also have to reboot the system to make the profiles visible.
Unfortunately, the above solution works only once. After creating a new Illustrator files for the second time, all the profiles are gone again.

The Illustrator was not responding every time I tend to save new file
Once I open Illustrator, it functions smoothly. I can open and save a copy of an existing files without any problems. However, when I click 'New File' and attempt to save it, the program consistently crashes with and became unresponsive.
I tried saving the recovered file, but it also hangs and 'not responding' when I click 'Save' in the File menu. I even restarted my computer to see if that would resolve the issue, but I'm still unable to save a new file.
I hope you can assist me with this problem.

Tip popup when zooming in and out (Alt key while brush is selected)
Whenever I zoom in and out using Alt + scroll wheel or a shortcut on my Wacom pencil, and have a Pencil or Brush selected, the smoothing tool pops up and gives this 'tip' that is obstructing my work. Turning tool tips off does not help.
'To smooth a section, select its anchor points with the direct selection tool and adjust the slider.'
It is really annoying, I'm not trying even trying to smooth the paths, just zooming! The tip stays on screen until I do something else, and pops back up whenever I hit alt. I know how the smoothing works, please let me get rid of this.

Scale Tool center point sticking to the cursor
When using the Scale tool, when I drag the center point with the mouse (actually it happens when using the pen), it sticks to the tip of the cursor and does not go away for a while. I lower the program window down, switch to other programs, only then it is solved. The program locks at that time.

clicking on stroke color in properties box adds fill to stroke
When trying to change stroke color, the properties box shows nothing in the RGB boxes. Clicking in them adds a fill to the stroke which is unwanted. Edit Gradient controls were buggy too
