AI 29.1 - Missing New Help Bar
The 29.1 update is supposed to have a new Menu Bar under Window->Help Bar but it's not there.

2 votesHelp Bar is available only in the latest Beta (starting with 29.2) and Prerelease builds so far. As soon as the team decides it’s ready to be pushed into main build, you’ll be able to get it. At the moment you can install Beta build from CCD app, or just wait.

Since MacOs Sequoia upgrade, Illustrator randomly recording / monitoring screen despite disabled in Privacy settings. Sequoia bug, AI bug, or Sequoia revealing this was happening all along. Could just be the color picker, could not. Doesnt happen reliably with color picker use. Only happens in Illustrator and only since the Sequoia upgrade. Something isnt working right between the OS and app.
If screen monitoring is turned off, Illustrator should not be able to monitor.2 votesIllustrator uses Apple screenshot API to pick colors outside the Illustrator window with Eyedropper tool. Apple has enhanced security in the recent OS updates to let user know which applications are recording the screen, whether you pick a color value of single pixel or recording the entire screen.
Illustrator is not recording users's screen, it is required for Eyedropper tool to pick color from single pixel.

Command-H stopped working for show/hide edges in 29.0.1.
Maybe this stopped earlier, I never bothered with any release of 2024.
I've been using Illustrator since 2000 and this hotkey is ingrained into my fingers. I don't care that MacOS wants to use command-hide to hide programs.
Fooling around in Illustrator's keyboard settings reveals that if I set this to something else, I can't even reassign it to command-h.
And annoyingly enough System Settings says that I can't assign custom shortcuts to Illustrator so I can't work around this by assigning nothing to illustrator>hide illustrator. Is this a deliberate choice being made by Adobe, the same way someone decided…

Draw Inside won’t work with live compound shapes
Draw Inside is great. Draw Inside lets you create a clipping mask in a fraction of the time it takes to create it with Object > Clipping mask > Make. But it's got some annoying issues.
- Draw a shape.
- Draw another shape over it.
- Make these two shapes into a compound shape.
- Select the whole compound shape.
- Draw Inside won't work.
- But you can put some other shapes under the compound shape, select them all, and do Object > Clipping path > Make.

App crashes right after saving a file
New v. 29, the King of Crashes
Steps taken: I restart the app. (ignore the request to restart from the crash manager, somehow, that will cause another crash soon after)
Crashes usually happen right when the app is done saving a file.
This is probably the version that crashes most often in a VERY long time of using AI.2 votes -

Pencil Tool not performing accurately
Pencil tool not performing accurately. Continued issue after updating to the 2025 version of Illustrator. Despite tinkering with pencil tool options, the shape will continue to skew compared to what I am drawing. Fidelity is on its most "accurate" setting.

Distorted curve line when saving an SVG
Hello, when we save from AI/EPS to SVG file, the 'f' edge path of the logo automatically becomes out of shape. We tried different colors and it works fine. This issue only happen on white SVG. Please help.
2 votesIncrease Decimal Places value in Export As / Save As (under More Options) to raise the precision. By default it’s too low, and if your graphics is rather small, it can cause problems like this.

Objetos em branco, sejam eles icones ou textos estavam sumindo na hora que eu convertia para jpg e outros formatos de imagem e na hora que enviada o arquivo para a impressora. Stroke appears to have Brush applied with no actual Brush
When I am in ANY artboard, I draw a .0139" x .0139" OR 1px x 1px square to center my artboard. I zoom in to as far as I can to then pull my ruler from top left to center the artwork on the page.

I cannot pull the centering tool (in ruler, Ctl-R ) onto my artboard to then center the coordinates.
2 votesGPU mode Ai uses by default is fast, but can be imprecise at high zoom levels. To see the art the way it’s drawn, with no precision rounding artifacts, toggle it to CPU mode instead.

Errore sconosciuto all'apertura di un file dwg.
All'apertura del file dwg generato con autocad (il quale l'ho sempre aperto con Illustrator), non sono più riuscita ad aprire alcun file dwg. Mi compare la scritta "impossibile completare l'operazione a causa di un errore sconosciuto [UNKN]"

Lighting preview is missing in 3D and Materials panel in Ai 2025, Undo does not work for 3D rotation, performance is slow
Why is the preview for lighting missing? And why is the render so slow? Also why is there no undo option to take you back to the previous rotation position??!!!! This is Illustrator 2025! Horrible.

Pasting text within text box changes formatting to neighboring type
I am trying to cut and paste type within an area type box. I have the type formatted with mixed attributes. But when I paste the type in its new location all formatting is lost and it assumes the format of the type next to where I paste it.
2 votesThis can happen if the 'Paste text without formatting' option is toggled in Preferences > Clipboard Handling. This would cause Ai to paste text with no formatting, adapting it from the target text.

Offer to delete dimensions if related objects are deleted
Dimension in Ai are live and follow the objects they we snapped to (only if NOT get moved on their own or together with the objects, which is stupid and should be fixed: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/47739104)
But another problem is unbound dimensions, that don’t have an anchored parent anymore.
Ai offers nothing if I delete an object that has a dimension attached to it
It won’t offer me restore the link if I paste it back.
If a dimension was bound to two objects, and delete one, there is no way I can move the second one and keep it live,…2 votes -

Illustrator2024（v28.7.1）を使用して、CS２形式（AI、EPS）で保存したファイルをIllustratorCS2で開けません。
メモリが足りないというエラーが発生します。Illustrator2023には同様の問題はありません。

Tools don’t get removed from a toolbar when using Edit Toolbar to edit it
Recently updated to the most recent version of Illustrator. When I try to edit/customize the toolbar the way I like, some items will not go away.
Version of Illustrator: 28.7.1
OS: Mac Sonoma 14.6
Steps Taken: Used three dots at bottom of toolbar to edit. Dragging items off into drawer.
Expected Result: Tool will be removed from toolbar.

再現手順
1. 任意の色を付けた矩形の上に任意の形状のオブジェクトを起き白黒グラデーションを指定し、双方を選んで透明パネルにてマスクボタンをクリック。
2. 背面に大きめの矩形を配置し。１の不透明マスクを適用したオブジェクトと一緒に選択し、グループの抜きを指定する。
3. 不透明マスクを適用したオブジェクトをダイレクト選択ツールで選択肢。不透明マスクで形状のぬきを定義チェックボックスをチェックすると不透明マスクでグループの抜きが適用された状態になる。
4. 不透明マスクを適用したオブジェクトの不透明度を調節すると不透明マスクの不透明度も変化し抜きの状態が変化する。しかし、透明パネルでマスクオブジェクトを確認すると不透明度は変化していない。期待する結果
不透明マスクで形状のぬきを定義を設定した場合、被マスクオブジェクトの不透明度に関わらずマスクオブジェクトに設定された状態を保持して抜きを設定する。実際の結果
不透明マスクで形状のぬきを定義を設定したオブジェクトの不透明度の値に不透明マスクの不透明度が影響を受け不透明マスクの状態が変化する。この状態はグループの抜きを設定しない場合と等価である。EN

1. place an object of any shape on top of a rectangle of any color, specify a black and white gradient, select both objects, and click the mask button in the transparency panel.
2. Place a larger rectangle on the back, select it together with the object to which the opacity mask is applied (1), and apply Knockout Group.
