1. Illustrator 2018 Loses ability to keep text uniform when transforming the type on path

   Illustrator 2017 had the ability to, while transforming the type on the path shape, to keep the text on it the same size and proportions when doing so. I would select the path with direct selection tool, then hit command, and text would stay uniform when transforming path.

   Now, in illustrator 2018, using same steps and command, type doesn't stay uniform, it gets squished.

   Notice how type gets distorted when moving bounding box in 2018, but I was able to make it stay proportionate in 2017.

2. Text lost when updating text of old version

   Illustrator CC 2018.(No problem before 2017)
   Updated text disappears when opening a file of old data such as version 10 or lower by a specific operation and updating the text portion.

   ・Prepare and open files of version 10 or lower
   ・To confirm whether to update the legacy text on the warning screen, click [OK] to not update
   ・Save immediately
   ・Open the saved file
   ・Click on the legacy text part with the mouse
   ・On the warning screen, click [Update]
   → The text that should have been updated disappears

3. Font does not look good

   Your version of Adobe Illustrator: CC 22.0.0 (64-bit)

   The steps you were taking when you experienced the issues: anytime I use fonts

   Your expected result: I expected that fonts will preview correctly
   Your actual result: I've attached an image. First text is with a type, second is after I use create outlines.

4. Font drop down menu disappears

   Whenever I select the font drop down menu, and I'm going through the fonts I have, it just randomly disappears as I'm looking through the fonts to find the one I want to use, although I can still use my arrow keys to go through the list even though the drop down menu isn't on my screen.

5. Font Filter

   Using Adobe Illustrator CC 2018.

   I have the filter on for all font classes but when I click the similar fonts icon "No results found" comes up.

6. Font point size change

   In the new CC 2018 release, when changing font point sizes, the program registers every keystroke entered in the font size field of the character box. For example, if piece of text is set to size 10, and you want to change it to size 15, entering "15" into the character panel changes the font briefly to size 1, until the 5 is entered and then it changes to 15. When undoing this change using command-z, the it requires two keystrokes to return from 15 to 10, because the first undo returns it to size 1, and the second then to size 10. I don't remember this behavior happening before, and it makes it a challenge to compare different font sizes for a given design element by using undo and redo to flip between the sizes the user is comparing. Maybe you can write a little code to add a slight delay so that changes entered into the size field of the character box don't take effect until after the average interval between the keystrokes of someone who's entering two or three digits?

8. Group selection + free transform no longer works on text boxes to resize area without changing text

   When I have a textbox open in Illustrator, in the past I could use the group selection tool to select just the box surrounding the type and manipulate that without affecting the text but now the bounding box doesn't even appear when I have the box selected without the type.

   Currently to manipulate the box without the type I would need to individually adjust each anchor point on the box, the free transform tool was previously very convenient for working around the fact that there's no actual feature to distinguish between manipulating the text box and the actual type but now that this is gone, please either add a new feature to manipulate the text box but not the type or fix the feature where you use the free transform tool to manipulate the text box. Thank you :)

9. Major Font problem in Ai CC 2018

   Adobe Illustrator 22.0 64-bit
   Windows 10 1703 (build 15063.632) 64-bit

   Characters refuses to render, be it in an area frame or a single line. Can't work like that, returning to CC 2017 right now.
   I had a full page of text yesterday and now I have just the backgrounds. The text frame can be selected but the characters panel doesn't show any information regarding type weight or anything. Also, the Find Font dialog is broken.

10. CC 2018: Objects on top of textframes are no longer selectable

    I made a clear video to illustrate this (annoying) bug.
    My colleague has not yet updated Illustrator and is using the latest 2017 version.
    I have updated to 2018.

    In the video you see:
    - On notebook 1: I created a textfield with rectangle on top. I can select the textframe and the rectangle on top easily. They are on the same layer.
    - On notebook 2: I did the exact same, but it has become impossible to select the rectangle.

    I cannot imagine this is done on purpose.
    I understand that I would not be able to select the rectangle if it was below the textframe, but not if it's on top....

13. Illustrator Font problem :((

    A client's custom font that shows up InDesign and Photoshop is not showing up in Illustrator?!?!?!?!? What is the problem??? And how can I fix this?????

    I have Font Book and have never had a problem, now I am trying to reload, restart, test, etc to get the font to show up with no luck.

    Any ideas?

    Illustrator CC 2017

    I was adding a Type/Text box into my design when Adobe Illustrator stopped working and not responding. Then when I was able to get it back up I could place a Type/Text box in my design but the box was filled with lines and lines of unwanted text. I got that fixed but now the text comes up at barely 1/16th of an inch and I am unable to change the font size. I have done everything that everyone has suggested and I have also uninstalled the program and re-installed it and the problem is still occurring. I really need to get this fixed ASAP

16. Kerning information in character panel not displaying correctly

    Illustrator 21.1.0 (64 bit)

    Create a text box with some text, set kerning to Auto
    Create another text box with some text, set kerning to Optical.

    Select first text box, the kerning will display as auto but on the drop down menu optical is ticked.

    The drop down menu will always display the last used option as ticked, regardless of what the current selection is set at.

17. Text selection not showing highlighting after macOS High Sierra 10.13 download

    When selecting any text, the text is not highlighted, thus removing my ability to know what I have selected. I am running a mid 2010 MacBook Pro. All was working well until I updated to macOS High Sierra 10.13. I have done all work arounds with no success.

18. After I type text, I can't correct a word. When I click on it it will select a new text box above it. I can only delete the entire text.

    After typing a word/paragraph, I can not delete any part of the word except I can select it and delete the entire word/text box. I just got illustrator a couple of months ago and I have always had a problem with it, but now it doesn't work at all. Help!

19. KERNING ON EXTENDED SELECTIONS...

    My kerning worked just fine about an hour ago, but now every time I try to add a custom kerning value it gives me the warning: Kerning on extended selections can only be set to Auto or 0.

    I can't seem to get this to go away.
    I uninstalled & reinstalled Illustrator and it is still happening.
    I tried many fonts of different types, and it still won't work.

20. Text-Markierung falsch positioniert im Alle-Zeilen-Setzer

    My German is better, so I describe the problem in german.

    Wenn der Adobe Alle-Zeilen-Setzer die Zeichen verschiebt, ist die Textmarkierung nicht mehr an der richtigen Stelle (egal ob ich sie zwischen zwei Buchstaben platziere oder einen Abschnitt markiere). Ich kann so vorher nicht mehr wissen, an welcher Stelle die Text-Eingabe erfolgt. Längere Texte zu schreiben wird so zu einer Tortur. Es muss natürlich wieder so funktionieren, dass ich die Markierung wieder an der Stelle sehe, wo auch das Programm sie sieht. Momentan ist der einzig mögliche Workaround, zuerst den Ein-Zeilen-Setzer zu aktivieren, den Text komplett auszuformulieren und am Ende auf den Alle-Zeilen-Setzer umzuschalten.

    Wenn der Adobe Alle-Zeilen-Setzer die Zeichen verschiebt, ist die Textmarkierung nicht mehr an der richtigen Stelle (egal ob ich sie zwischen zwei Buchstaben platziere oder einen Abschnitt markiere). Ich kann so vorher nicht mehr wissen, an welcher Stelle die Text-Eingabe erfolgt. Längere Texte zu schreiben wird so zu einer Tortur. Es muss natürlich wieder so funktionieren, dass ich die Markierung wieder an der Stelle sehe, wo auch das Programm sie sieht. Momentan ist der einzig mögliche Workaround, zuerst den Ein-Zeilen-Setzer zu aktivieren, den Text komplett auszuformulieren und am Ende… more
