Fonts used previously won’t load and miss in the document
Many of the fonts aren't opening properly on the working files from the previous version of IIllustrator. It appears as I have no these fonts, but I sure had yesterday in 2024 version, so it's there :d

HEX Franklin Variable Font is Not Visible when Editing
I am on a Mac running Illustrator 29.4. I am trying to use the variable OTF version of HEX Franklin, and all Adobe apps do not render the letterforms. When I try to select the variable font in the dropdown, it just defaults back to Myriad or the default typeface.
Other variable fonts work as intended, but specifically, this one is broken. Any possible fix?

Text Overflow / Overset (+) Indicators are not shown
A strange thing is happening with a few of my files. Some text boxes have stopped showing the indicator when clicking off of the text box which has text overflow. This recently cause me to mistakenly print a file that had text overflowing with no indication. Why is this happening?

Properties panel doesn’t detect the actual font and shows Myriad Pro by default
When I select a word, the Properties panel doesn’t detect the actual font and shows Myriad Pro by default. None of the text settings respond or update. The program doesn’t freeze, but the panel acts as if no text is selected. The same thing happens in the Control panel

Creative Cloud Fonts wont sync.
The fonts already installed via Creative Cloud show missing in Illustrator. It also keep removing the font from the font family stating font was unable to be installed due to an error. So every time I open Illustrator or simply start my system there a new font missing. CC sprouts an error regarding a font. Never had this issue before.

「環境にないフォントを解決する」などからバリアブルフォントをアクティベートできない／Cannot activate variable fonts through Resolve Missing Fonts.
Adobe Fontsが含まれたドキュメントを開くとき、そのフォントが環境になくても「環境にないフォントを解決する」などからアクティベートできるのですが、バリアブルフォントの場合はアクティベートができず、困っています。
・和文でも欧文でもバリアブルフォントだとアクティベートできない
・Beta版と製品版（2025、2024）で確認したが、アクティベートできないのはいずれも同じ回避策として
・Adobe FontsのWebサイトで事前にアクティベートしておく
・文字パネルの「さらに検索」タブからアクティベートするなどの方法が挙げられますが、単純に手間ですし、初心者さんにとってはハードルの高い作業だと感じます。
ほかのフォント同様に「環境にないフォントを解決する」や「フォントの検索や置き換え」からでもアクティベートできるのが正しい挙動だと考えています。UserVoiceで似たような報告を見つけられなかったので、日本語版だけのバグではないか？と疑っています。
バグであれば早めに解消いただけると嬉しいです。
When opening a document with Adobe Fonts, missing fonts can usually be activated via "Resolve Missing Fonts," but variable fonts cannot.
- This affects both Japanese and Latin variable fonts.
- Tested in Beta and release versions (2025, 2024) with the same result.
Workarounds:
- Manually activating fonts on the Adobe Fonts website.

The type tools not showing in 29.3.1, I get the 3d and Materials (insanely long) window instead.
The Paragraph panel does the same, as well as Glyphs.

Text is getting converted to outlines when exporting and/or saving as SVG in Illustrator 2025, even though I am NOT selecting that option. This is bad for SEO and accessibility and needs to be fixed asap.

We request that function key conversion be re-enabled for Japanese input.
Due to the latest update release, the conversion shortcuts using function keys during Japanese input have become unavailable. Please restore them so they can be used again.
Conversion shortcut details:
F6 → Hiragana
F7 → Katakana
F8 → Half-width Roman characters
F9 → Full-width Roman charactersIn Japan, conversion shortcuts using function keys are commonly used.
Previously, I could use those keys for Japanese input conversion without having to delete the corresponding Illustrator shortcut settings. However, in the latest version, even deleting the settings doesn't work, which is inconvenient.24 votes -
Bug - Variable Concept fonts do not show on screen or in output
Mac OS 15.3.2
Illustrator 28.4.5
Plugins: Esko DeskPack Essentials 24.07; extensis Connect Fonts 27.0.0Variable Concept fonts do not show. The text box is visible when I change to View Outlines. I can select the text lines and see the colour and font information; the text does not appear on screen or in output. Our only solution is to quit Illustrator and restart. This seems to fix the view issues, but we now have to quit/restart multiple times per day.

中韓フォントの文字組みを変更してもアキが変わらない
フォント「思源黑體 TW」の文字組みを「なし」や「行末約物半角」などに変更しても、アキ量が変化しない現象がありました。
上記現象が発生したバージョンは下記の通りです。OS：Windows 10 Pro
Illustrator CC：V 29.1、V 29.2、V 29.3.1（V 29.2.1、V 29.3は調べてません）
なお、V 29.0、V 28.7.3 は当該現象は発生していません。問題発生時の手順：
・スクリプトを使いCSVデータを読み込んで文字情報を取得、文字をイラストに書き込む
・文字入力後、フォント「思源黑體 TW」へ変更
上記どちらでも問題が発生します。想定していた結果：

この２つの全角、半角のアキが同じ（変化がない）となっております。

・A-OTF UD新ゴ Pr6N L
・メイリオ
・游ゴシックIllustratorフォーラムにも投稿し他の方にもご検証いただいたところ、日本語以外（繁体字、簡体字、ハングル）のフォントで同様の現象が起きているようです。
また、InDesign20.1(2025)でも同様の現象が起きているようです。バグであれば是非ともご対応いただけると幸いです。

Font switches to default and back while navigating string with arrows
It's a bit hard to explain in words, so please watch the screencast I recorded. To put it simply: if a text block has a font other than the default (Myriad), and you want to navigate the text using the arrow keys, each time you click the button, the font in the panels changes to the default font and then back. The new letters have the correct font, although this does impact performance, especially for large texts.

Bullet or numbered list incorrectly applying when copying text boxes
If text that has a bullet or numbered list applied to it runs across a joined text box, the list effect will be applied to all the text before it in the duplicated text box.

Upside down text stroke disappears when exporting
When I go to export files in illustrator any upside down font with a stroke that has not been outlined shows up in the jpeg without the stroke.

Check Spelling Settings is missing in Preferences dialog. Auto correct showing wrong spellings.

Area type vertical alignment and auto size doesn't work
I've been using Illustrator on my Intel Mac under Sequoia and last versions lets you choose center, bottom or justify alignment but it always acts as top and the auto size option is disabled.
2 votesPlease post a screen recording of this issue. In Illustrator 2024 Auto-resize is disabled when alignment is "Center", "Bottom" or "Justify", and Auto-resize works fine when alignment is set to "Top". I see the same behavior in Illustrator 2025 as well.

Auto Spell Check is splitting words causing false highlights.
The false highlights are making editing a typo impossible. See attached example.

3.指定したフォントをアンインストールする。
4.先のドキュメントをIllustratorで開く。
5.異体字が指定されたキャラクタが「notdef」グリフで表示される。期待する結果

Text editing issues in regular and large canvases
- Set the regional text to "align both ends, align the last line to the left", which aligns normally in a regular canvas, but cannot align on the right side in a large canvas.
- For the text in the same area, adjust the "Scale Spacing" text in the big canvas to overflow on the right. Display normally in regular canvas.
