Scaling object(s) is causing the associated bounding box to become a shape ('expanded object' appears on the screen after scaling).
Seems to be occurring repeatedly - updated/reinstalled Illustrator 2019, which had received it for a short period, but now it has re-emerged. Driving me mad! Seems to occur more with smart guides and holding the shift key.

Selection tool acting like Direct selection tool and vice versa
Selection tool does not select all points and will not move a group of objects correctly, (it acts like the Direct Selection tool, not selecting all points). And the Direct Selection tool selects ALL points of a group and moves them, which is what the Selection tool is supposed to do. They are working exactly opposite as they should. "Show Bounding box" does not resolve this issue. The Selection tool has also instantly changed format of text simply upon selection (indent & tracking). Using MacOS Sierra 10.12.6, Illustrator CC 2019. This is a bad bug, please help.

Action using "save as" location not keep settings after restart of Illustrator
I created action that use the "save as" to defined location, when closing and restarting Illustrator the action doesn't save location of "save as" action.

Object's "Appearance" is stuck
Have been working with the functionality of the Appearance window with great success for quite a while. Today, for no apparent reason, almost every new object I create (from any drawing tool) inherits one of the Appearance attributes that I had previous assigned to a different object. Let's say that I created a line and then applied an Appearance in which I added an additional stroke. Great. Illustrator window resizing problem
My work window in Illustrator has a peculiar problem when I want to resize the window, after clicking in the bottom right corner the window grows much bigger (off screen) and so I have to resize the window even more than normal and my cursor as I do than is sort of on the middle of the screen and not on the corner as normal. Very strange. Only happens in Illustrator when Application Frame is turned off (which is the way I prefer).

Transformations committing even upon cancel
Even MORE issues with latest version of Illustrator which are rendering it almost unusable for me. When using one of the transformation dialog boxes (Move, Rotate, Scale etc) if the preview option is selected, as you change the numerical values to see what the effect might be, it commits each of those changes. Even if you CANCEL out of the dialog box it will have made the transformations to your object and you have to make multiple undos to get back to your starting point.
Found the same issue with the Free Transform Tool, it commits changes in little stages…

When Saving a File, it takes up to 5 minutes to do so, Is there a solution. please let me know.

text expands inaccurately
Mac OS 10.13.6 AI 23.1.1
See att screenshot. I converted this type to outlines, then Expanded Appearance, then Expanded stroke and fill. Results are superimposed over the original red/orange type. You can that the converted outline does not match the type; in general the top is pushed rightward and the bottom leftward. I tried skewing the outline to correct it but while that may nudge some curves and vertices back to where they belong, it pushes others out. The only solution I know is to tweak and/or redraw the path, which is an extremely time-consuming task. It appears that this…1 vote -
Opening Old AI5.5 files in CS2019
I now find since moving to Catalina that my old version of Adobe Illustrator 5.5 has stopped working, this would be fine, but I cannot open old files from 2009 in Adobe Illustrator 23.1.1 - and as luck would have it, I get a call to reignite an old brand this AM! can anyone help please?

Doesn't open
I cant open the app in my cellphone. I tap it and it seems like it is opening BUT after one second it closes again. I don't know what to do anymore. I closed the app and opened it again and happened the same, i also restarted my phone (like tree times) and there were no changes at all!!

Menus stuck on one item
After I relink something, the other tabs in that section get stuck on 'Links'. If I select 'Layers' it shows 'Links', if I select 'Libraries' it shows 'Links' and so on...
Dragging the tab out and back in again doesn't fix it. I can't have all these items out in their own tabs as I don't have the room with all the other items I need on a day-to-day basis.
This is very irritating as I have to shut down Illustrator every time this happens... which is all the time.

Save for web values bug
This is a bug, not an idea. This affects Photoshop, too.
In the Save for Web dialog, when punching in new values, those values do not commit unless you manually select something else before hitting Save.
For example, if I punch in a different value under Image Size > Percent, I cannot just hit Enter or Tab then Enter and have it save at the percentage specified.

Static screen
Can you fix the new update of adobe illistrator? I can't use it. Every time I try to create a new file it shows the lines of something similar to a static screen and I'm not able to use it for anything. I really need to be able to use this program for college.

Wrong encoding of separation names when exporting to PDF/X-4 (should be UTF-8)
When exporting to PDF/X-4 from Illustrator, the separation names are not encoded in UTF-8 (which is requested by the PDF/X-4 standard) but using the OS encoding (MacRoman on Mac - ISO-8859-1 on Windows).
This makes the PDF/X-4 preflight to fail.

Pasting a hexadecimal color code into the Fill or Stroke under properties > appearance occasionally causes Illustrator to freeze up
- MacOS 10.14.5 (18F132)
- Select an object (for example, a rectangle), in the properties panel, under the appearance heading, select either fill or stroke, and paste a hex code into the textbox at the bottom of the popup panel. Occasionally, this results in Illustrator freezing, and can only be fixed by force-quitting.

Illustrator 2019 Freeform Gradient and compound paths not quite right
When applying a freeform grad to a compound path, the effect struggles to jump a gap between paths, leaving odd results. If you create a path with a "hole" in the middle and create grad its OK. Move the whole fully out of the enclosing shape and its blank, move back into to cross border line and it works correctly with overlap creating hole.

Dialogue Boxes Pop-up on Wrong Display
Despite all efforts, dialogue boxes will not pop-up on primary display, only the MacBook Pro display.
Running Illustrator 23.1.1 on a MacBook Pro with OS 10.14.5 (Mojave), with Apple Thunderbolt Display as primary monitor. Mac system preferences "Arrangement" set to show Thunderbolt as primary. "Displays Have Separate Spaces" unchecked in Mission Control.

Direct Selection Tool on Control Handles Doesn't Work Properly After Puppet Warp
Normally, you can adjust a single control handle of an anchor point with the Direct Selection tool without affecting the other control handle. But after you perform a Puppet Warp on a shape, this is no longer the case. Using the Direct Selection tool on a control handle affects both handles simultaneously. Diagrams pasted from Excel (Office 365 version) to Adobe Illustrator on Mac cannot show correct font of numbers and characters
It seems that the original versions of Excel (such as Office 2013 and 2016) do not have this problem. However, diagrams pasted from Excel to clipboard is correct. So there may be some problem in transferring diagrams from latest Excel version.
