1. Both Free Transform tool and bounding box treat narrow objects wrong

   I don't use bounding box. It messes with my corner and middle points, it occasionally resizes my art when I just want to drag it by it's side and so on — so I always turn it of.

   When I need to scale anything, I pick up Free transform tool.
   Alas, both of these marker-ish tools have same problem — they treat narrow objects completely WRONG.

   See the file attached.
   For example, I have a perfectly aligned and sized magenta strip.

   First, I try to use Free Transform tool to make it taller. AI transform my path not from the top edge of the PATH, as intended, but from the top edge of the FRAME, which is taller than my path because of this large markers.
   This is ridiculous.

   Next, I undo my changes and turn on bounding box.
   It does the same thing.

2. Asset Export Incorrectly Clipping

   If you create a filled rounded rectangle with a 1 pt border, add it to the Asset Export panel and export, the end result is noticeably clipped. Even though the shape may be aligned to be pixel perfect and the stroke aligned so that it should be inside, the output shows the frame is now non uniform in terms of stroke width.

   If you didn't use stroke, you probably won't notice the inaccuracy.

   See the attached image and the edges are clearly truncated.

   Says there are some fundamental alignment issues that need to be addressed.

3. It does not change even if you enter a value on the Transform panel

   After entering X position, move to Y position with tab key and enter and enter value and value will not change even if enter key or tab key is pressed.

   Sometimes, this bug appears in Y position or Height.

4. Round caps for a stroke turn into butt caps when expanded or outlined

   New bugs for Illustrator CC 22.0.1.

   1. make Path Line(pen tool), set Stroke Weight, set Round Cap
   2. use "Outline Stroke" in "Path" menu in "Object" menu" (or "Expand" in "Object" menu")
   3. confirm result

   The state of the start point or the end point changes from before processing.

   It does not happen in CC 2017.

5. white outline appears

   A white outline appears around objects sometimes that is not supposed to be there.
   Restarting illustrator, my computer and uninstalling/reinstalling illustrator has not fixed it.

6. Illustrator graphics from the Library are distorting when I "Option Click and Drag"

   First off this is only happening to me in Illustrator 2018. I just did an update over the weekend, and have been facing a number of bugs ever since. But the one I still havent figured out is this one. In my CC libraries, my team and I utilize it for vector icons. When I drag an icon into my file, it looks correct, but I cannot edit the colors. So when I "Option click and drag", it gives me the option to edit the icon, but it is distorting it by squishing it vertically. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

   This is very frustrating. Really hoping this gets resolved, otherwise my team and I won't be able to utilize the CC libraries and will have to find another solution.

7. ctrl key to change the size of an object

   The ctrl key is supposed to make a square arround my selected object which lets me change the size of the object, but this function randomly stopped working.

8. Can't move paragraph indent markers back to 0 in tab panel

   Illustrator CC 2018
   Windows 10

   When I try to move the top or bottom indent markers back to zero, it snaps back to its original place.
   If I type 0 in the X: box, it doesn't work.
   If I set it to 1, cliclk in the X: box and press the down arrow on my keyboard, it doens't work.

   The only way to set it back is via the Paragraph panel.

   The issue seems to be fixed in the latest version of Illustrator.

   Please try to test it and reply back if it works as expected for you.

9. IDIOTS

   You idiots have made it very difficult to create a new document/art board of my dimensions. I thought I was on a real computer until I wanted to create a new document and the choices are limited like I was on an iPad. Whoever designs this creates a program that does great things very difficultly. You do not have a clue how learning users, and therefore all users, think or do. Hire someone who is an expert in human computer interactions. A good one because you don't have one now.

   In case you think I don't know much about this please note that I have been learning programs for about 50 years. This is the worst. Followed by Autocad.

   Have you ever Beta tested anything with real new users? Doesn't appear so.

10. new document dialog closes if you're a power user (fast)

    Once in illustrator if I want to make a new document I press command+n it brings up a new document dialog box. If you press enter while the dialog box is loading it closes. You have to then press command+n and wait for it to load and then pressing enter is successful in creating a new document. Please fix this because it's wasting people's time. Just found legacy mode so I guess that will do.

11. Illustrator Active Window lags when plugged into an external monitor

    I am having an issue where when both a Surface Book 2 or a Macbook Pro 2018 is plugged into an external monitor ONLY the active window pane will lag when my curser enters that section of the screen both on the laptop and the external monitor. Doesnt happen when the computer is on its own but ONLY when second mointor is connected. Need this issue resolved and have done a full restart and reinstal of Ai along with tested this with 2 computers and multiple mice.

12. No icon - can't recognise file type.

    Latest build Windows 10 with Ai 23.0.1 can't recognise the file and keeps asking what to open with. Additionally the icon is missing on all ai. files.

    Please reinstall Illustrator. The functionality that you are referencing comes from the Windows operating system and re-associating file types using the Windows operating system should solve the issue.

13. Selection tool Lagging and moving objects on click- High Sierra (macOS 10.13)

    I have been an illustrator user since 2000.

    After this most recent update I noticed that when I use the Selection Tool (V) . The item, image, line, vector group, no matter what I click, begins to lag and then automatically jumps to the location of my mouse, Thought I simply clicked the item to select it and then moved my mouse, not clicked and dragged. The object reacts as though I clicked and dragged, so I am forced to select an object, let the bug run it's course, and then hit cmd +Z to undo the unintentional move.

    I know 2 other people having the same issue since the most recent illustrator update. What can I do to fix this?

    I am using a mac, magic mouse, and OS 10.13.

14. Artboard resizing bug

    Artboard bug causes a wrong or erraticaly behavior. Just trying to change the artboard height and when I click [ok] and check it again, the value remains the same. Please, check the movie.
    This time I have it on video, but this issue remains until the first CC version, maybe more.

15. new document jumps to last page instead of first page

    Occasionally when I create a new document in Illustrator CC, it jumps to the last page. Then once that document is closed and opened, it does it again.

    Am I missing something? Never use to do this.

    We open a file to the last saved view. So by design Illustrator will open to the artboard(page) and zoom level that was when the file was last saved.

16. Installing new fonts don't automatically list in Illustrator unless I restart the App.

    When I activate a new font in my font management app (in this case FontExplorer), the font doesn't show up in Illustrator. I have to quit Illustrator and reopen it in order to see the new font. In the past I didn't have this issue only in recent updates to Illustrator. Is there a way to fix this?

18. Complete system crash when using Puppet Wrap tool

    Upon first time using Puppet Wrap tool, complete system crash. All programs and entire machine turn off. Now if I have Illustrator open for 5+ mins my machine shuts off.

19. File Bloat

    I was tearing my hair out working with a file using multiple images containing patterns inside snowflakes. Every time I saved the file it got bigger and bigger even when nothing had changed except I was trying to rasterize images which was suggested to reduce file size. Finally after reading many other illustrator forum comments on this issue, someone suggested copying all the content and pasting it to a brand new file artboard. I did this and started an entirely new file with the same artwork, and when I saved this new file it it went from 240 MB to 3.5 MB. Something is clearly wrong in the saving process - I had even done "save as" several times with the same name to prompt the new file to overwirte the old file. It is crazy, like playing leap frog if as I go along to keep a project from getting too big I must constantly copy all work and paste to a new file.
